I didn't want to reply to this, because not everyone responds well to criticism, and so I didn't think my thoughts would be well received on this occasion. Yet, Bell insists, so you can put all the blame on him, now.

The segment itself was very well written, and you can sort of believe Ylana Cole could get the jump on Craven, surprise him and get the upper hand. It's a definite stretch, but I'd figure it's plausible enough that I could probably have gone with it had it made sense to me.

I'm too lazy to check the dates but...
Before End Game II, back in February, March and/or April (somewhere 'round there)... Craven was a monster that looked like a threat to Ylana's son. And the person Ylana would have turned to for protection, her husband, appeared to be afraid of Craven.

With Craven threatening family to goad Cole back into the ring, in this instance, six months ago, I could have totally bought that desperation would have forced Ylana to take extreme measures to defend her spawn.

However...
Fast forward to present...

Craven has not reiterated a threat to the Family in months, because there's no need to goad Cole into the ring since Cole got his mojo back at EG2. Since that point, RB has been bringing it. More than that, Cole even tamed the big monster at T6 by making him bend to his will and tap.
Clearly, Rob Cole now has the situation well in hand.

And so, seeing that her son has not been threatened in a few months because her husband has regained his confidence and pwnd William Craven at T6... now she decides to take the extreme and desperate measure of cuffing/attacking Craven?
It makes no sense to me. Yes, many months ago, Craven had threatened the family. But at this point, not only has Rob Cole already risen to the occasion to defend against this threat, he has defeated it by submission.

So while attacking Craven would have made all the sense in the world when it was Ylana's apparent only recourse... now that the monster has been thwarted, it no longer makes any sense (to me).

Now, Bell justifies the segment as a cautionary tale to those who don't sell.
EDIT= He claims it was a jest.

The other part that didn't work for me with Ylana's attack... it did not benefit any character. It took away some heat from a character who will compete in matches, and gave heat to no one who will compete in a match... at least so far. It's too early to be definitive about this, as there are still shows left before the blowoff where things can happen, and take things in a direction I had not foreseen.
In any case, it does appear extremely counter-productive to symbolically castrate the heel before the blow-off.
There's ample time for Craven to rebound, though.

Hah ... This wasn't used because Craven didn't sell. I was saying that I think people are more up in arms because it is Craven who usually doesn't ever find himself into positions where he is looked like a human being like most of the characters on the roster.

In all actuality ... I think Moze has done well playing off the Sub win and now this end of Heatwave into his character.

Added, after Flouze edit:
*sigh* I'm not going to get into a defensive situation. I would say everyone knows where I stand with their character. If they don't all they have to do is ask. I've played the game with most of you for a very long time.

It's a game guys ... Our characters look bad at times. I try to give everyone a chance to be in the spotlight and have a good time.

Because of the type of character that Craven is, and the condition that he suffers from, he doesn't sell much and can be a challenge to work off of, though I've found Moze to be very open to working with me no matter which characters have been across the ring from him, so I don't buy the whole "punishment for not selling" meme that Flouze suggested...and there are other characters that sell just as little (or less) than Craven such as Fontana, Knight, Spectre, and Nevermind and its never hurt any of their pushes...

Was I a huge fan of the segment: Not really, no.

Do I think that it's the big deal that everyone else does: nope.

Marley feuded with Craven for 2 years and both men came of of that feud looking stronger than when they went in...sometimes some of the stuff that Moze or I did was a bit far fetched, but that happens in this hobby (and no one got run over by and F 16).

I'd suggest taking a deep breath and chilling out instead of taking out pitchforks and torches.

Hey!
It's not my meme, it's Bell's. It's his fault for not using the winky face emoticon!

I found it dumb but I find most things dumb.

Yeah, but you're also pre-chilled, so there's not much worry about there.

I get mad sometimes, like when Fontana supermaned that tag team match; that annoyed me.

It's okay...when I have Supreme Wright challenging people to reverse battle royal cage matches, then we can all take our minds off everyone else's controversial stuff. :P

Don't think anyone was remotely close to getting a pitchfork or a torch. I haven't heard about anyone that was mad, incensed, or even irritated. Only about people who weren't particularly fond of the segment.

Moze himself didn't seem mad at all.

That was very well stated. Y'know, I think this would've flown much better when Rob was fleeing Craven at a gallop than now. It's mostly a matter of timing. Makes sense...
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

@flouzemaker: T6, Craven used another threat on Coles' family to get him to agree to another rematch at Boiling Point.
