My Heatwave $0.11:

* You know, given that the two heel announcers (Fred and Matt) are sniping at each other, you could have a good mini angle with each man championing a heel wrestler and encouraging "their" guy to beat "the other announcer's" guy.

* Nice work by Wright and Freeman. In one flash, they introduced both wrestlers and established who the face and heel were. Looking forward to seeing their match.

* Joint flash but Detson, Craven, and Spectre. Nothing like seeing three heels work together to promise violence

* Biz/Devin/Sinister/JD/Beserkers- bit of a schmozz, but it's tied some of the storylines together well. Biz/Sin is a good feud- obnoxious jerk Biz against longtime face Sin (though really Sin- a Chicago lad praising the Raiders? I know you want the hometown pop but I was expecting at least one "Almost as good as the Bears" comment :))

Putting the Beserkers in makes sense- with the Prophets gone, they needed a storyline. And it actually adds some intrigue- the heels are outnumbered, which makes them the underdog. I expect Biz and Devin to come up with someone to counter Wolf and Doom.

* Max and Sal get beatdown. Always hard to comment on your own storylines. Max and Sal have been on a roll lately, and the champions needed to remind people that (a) they were the champs and (b) comedy gimmick aside, they were serious heels. As much as the tag teams have been comedy bits lately, the idea was to ramp up the enemity between the teams, not with insults but with a serious beatdown that needed revenge. I'm hoping it came out well.

* Rob Cole gets a lot of flashes with former and current foes, doesn't he? First Brian Young, now Spectre. I'm surprised to see that it's Spectre quoting "The Killing Joke". I didn't think of Spectre as a comic book fan :)

* Too bad Whitecross hasn't been posting- there's an easy dozen "Black/White" puns that could have been used in a series of matches with Christopher Black. :)

* Hayes/Craven- heels trying to out-manipulate each other is always fun to watch. I'm hoping there's a payoff down the road.

* Perry Fontana. I get the "Don't Cheer for Me" flash. Almost the opposite of the Caleb Foley angle- Foley as a face who kept doing heelish things, Fontana as a heel who is starting to do face-type actions. As for the Emily storyline, I'm curious what the payoff will be.

* HEAT/Livestock and the Gutch. Good match. Heel vs. heel is tough to pull off because the crowd inevitably turns one of them face. I think for this match HEAT would have gotten the cheers from the crowd, but both sides cheated like mad. Champs won, but I could see a rematch between the two.

* Hayes beating up Masked Maniac was great. It was old-school, Ric Flair beating up a jobber on NWA type move.

* Six man... AsH was the good choice for the title shot. Craven-Cole and Daniels-Detson are already feuding, and a Hayes-Spectre feud would probably just turn Spectre face. If Gibson Hayes is PVW's Ric Flair, AsH makes a great Ricky Morton challenger for him. I'm waiting for AsH to humiliate Hayes to really get the match into Overdrive.

Spectre's all about "one bad day"...he has a real feel for that sort of mindset.

Well, I'm glad that at least someone thought it was a good idea to keep AsH/Gibson going! I've been slowly tweaking AsH further and further away from his cartoonish, full blown over-the-top comedy into more of a funny, tongue and cheek kind of character, who has rediscovered his desire to be taken seriously as a challenger.

Now, whether it's working or not... I can't say, but I'm leaning towards the latter. It could be entirely because I'm facing someone who is not only on a tear, but widely considered one of the best chars in EW right now.

Anywhos, I love getting any feedback on AsH, good/bad/otherwise. So thank you.
