Shizz Dawg OG? And here I was, thinking I was channeling early 2000s Vasquez.

Who needs Dro's reviews when we can have insightful and constructive criticism like "I skipped this, I skimmed that," and "I hate Australians."

EDIT: some content removed here, as it could have been misconstrued as an attack, which was not the intent.

On another topic, I get a bit weary of getting blamed for the RftA four way title tag match. As Beeby can confirm, our strats asked for Fontana to get his ass whooped Rick Morton style for most of the match (because he deserved it) and have Landis be the returning hero that saves his sorry ass. Everything in the strats reflected this. Fontana was supposed to suffer for what he'd done, and Landis was supposed to be the hero... Landis was most definitely not supposed to return to the ring and watch from the apron as Fontana saved himself all on his own.

Hindsight being 20/20, we should have asked to not win the titles even if the team deserved it instead of asking to win them if and only if the team legitimately deserved it. At the time we felt we were doing good enough work to be considered on an equal footing with the other teams. One must err to learn...

That said, Everlasting Hell's reign ended up being short, and everything would have been fine if L&G had then begun a feud with Max & Sal for the titles instead of PAIN. At the time, the majority wanted to see Max & Sal be the challengers, not PAIN, no matter how beloved the team was (and still is).

EDIT: Alternatively, Everlasting Hell could have dropped the belts to Max & Sal instead, with L&G chasing them to get their titles back. That was another option.

I thank Dave for both the praise and slight backhand in the same light (Dave and I plan to chat on a few things since I invited the discussion w/Tiegs making Dave's cardinal debut rule of mentioning the champ). Speaking of OSW from the Picky-cast, who did you handle there, Dave? I probably remember, but I'm sure Jerod will chime in w/the answer first. :)

Ok, back to idea'ing for one of two (or possibly using one as an on-card, one as a pre-taped spot) promo ideas.

Actually Everlasting Hell did exactly nothing to win the tag battles and Fontana was portrayed beyond Rick Morton. Both the Prophets and Max & Sal were hitting Fontana with enough that he should have been eliminated. Fontana became the focus and the match was one where you read it through your fingers because of the telegraphed finish.

Everyone knew how the angle was going to play out throwing the tag title in the mix made zero sense. Then, if beating Max and Sal and the Rage brothers wasn't enough, the angle that PAIN was going to use gets entirely de-railed thanks to a clean submission win that puts over Fontana yet again over a tag team. In essence, Fontana has put over no one, willingly, while maintaining a fascination with soap opera-esque angles that have nothing to do with anyone but himself in a self serving arch.

Fontana managed to devalue both the TV title (which was defended regularly until his reign) and the tag title. Both became embroiled in angles that had little to nothing to do with PVW proper. Fontana operates in an oasis that has as little contact with the players at large as possible. No one but Fontana ends up looking good after working with them - collateral damage is the name of the game and that's what everyone else who works with Fontana ends up as.

Fontana brings very little to the table and, frankly, I have seen nothing that leads me to believe the character ever will until there is a willingness to actually show weaknesses and co-operate with other handlers instead of trying to make the character look good at all times.

Fontana is a lackluster character in terms of being able to give (he can take though) and the utilization of Fontana requires a hard looking at to see if the character can actual integrate instead of being the white elephant in the room - revered by some but many others looking at is as a shit gift.

Seeing as how Dave is a little, ahem, distracted at the moment... the correct answer there is Preston Mayfield. I'm still pretty convinced he was entered into OSW just to make fun of me, but I loved toying with the character and actually personally wrote most of his matches to be sure the line between "screwed up loser" and "total jobber" was walked appropriately. I had fun things planned for Mayfield had he stuck around awhile.

On a fun side note, Picky (better Berger? :) ) has since confided in me that his original plan prior to OSW closing was to pull Mayfield and app none other than Gibson Hayes. Of course, this was well before the America flash that developed the entire Gibson Hayes character, and he fully admits that he had almost no voice for Gibson way back when... but a fun little PVW sidenote since it appears that the exodus from RSE to PVW is now nearly completion now that the OSW handlers are joining the multitude of WWO and UEW handlers in PVW. Good time for the RSE Corporate Whore to return to the game it appears. :)

Back on topic...

Personally, I enjoyed the 100 turnbuckle smash spot. Excessive? Hell yes. Probably could have stopped at 50 and accomplished the same goals. But it was unique and lighthearted, and there's definitely a place for that even in feud enders. It came early in the match, it kept the crowd hopped up following SCD's vengeance and the Max & Sal breakthrough, and it kept in line with Daniels' character. I can see people disliking it, but I thought it was fun and different. And there's not enough of either of those in strats these days. I'm glad it made it through, even if it does seem destined to join the Beckbreaker as a running PVW joke.
Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest.

There must be something I'm missing... I click on the link and it just loads and loads and loads and it eventually offers me a download option, but won't allow me to stream the dang thing. Is there a streaming option available? Or is it only downloadable, and thus not something I'm probably ever going to bother listening to as a result?

Alas, no streaming option since I went quick and dirty and threw it up on mediafire.
