Okay, here's to another cycle in the books. Thanks to all the hard work ...
This was a really fun cycle. Big thanks to those who helped me get this sucker
out ... Who wrote their matches. It's was really nice to see that some cared
and were able to pitch in.

It doesn't happen that often in this game any more!

Welcome to those who replaced the guys who flaked and left us. In the next few
days the plan is to release a full blown update. Full roster and all...

I will be getting back to the angle idea emails.

Hopefully update the website.

Anyways, after 600k both preshow/ppv I do need a few days to rest. So let's hear your thoughts on the preshow and PPV. It's always nice to see
opinions.

Thanks again!

Good GOD what a card. I'm gonna have full and complete thoughts tomorrow... but first:

I'm pretty sure there's already a nickname for 100 consecutive headslams... MURDER! Loved that part.

Craven/Cole was everything it needed to be and a lot more.

I loved the ending to the show. It feels like I finally get what I've been pining for, a big, nearly fed-wide angle, even if that angle is: Kill HOPE!

Good card. My favorite match had to be the SCD vs. Black match, but the opening match was a surprising high light. End was good. Oh, and looking forward to the next cycle.

So after taking some time to put my thoughts in perspective, here they are on the show itself:

Supreme Wright vs. Adrian Freeman was easily one of the most interesting matches, developing what could be an interesting rivarly between newcomers if the two characters choose to explore it. Going into overtime and then drawing it out there gave both characters an interesting boost and it will be fun to see what they do with the build up.

Promo From Cole was a little flat. I know I wrote it, but I wasn't entirely happy with it and not sure if I should have even sent it in. I kind of wanted to play off the fact that Cole is a known talker, but he didn't want to talk anymore... but I don't think that really got sold throughout this feud. So goes life.

Biz vs. Sinister:

Really liked this match and it gave Sinister a decent boost for the next cycle.

Hartt Promo: Not as good as the previous, but it was a good and brief little chat backstage in order to hype the match but otherwise calm the crowd after an exciting feud match.

Knight vs. Spectre:

This could be a good obstacle for Knight to overcome... that makes two matches he's lost due to passing out instead of refusing to either tap or just being knocked out prior to the submission hold. IT gave Spectre a huge boost as well. Will hope there's more from Knight down the road and give big props to the writer for this.

HVD Promo: Good stuff.

Crown on a pole match:

Liked the match... but wasn't so happy with the ending. I liked that Hartt won, but Neverminds' actions after the match seemed to deflate some of the drama... I think Nevermind could have had a better "moment" had he waited for the match result to sink in and then sell the same idea in an aftermath promo to start the next cycle... the acceptance of the crown came a little too quickly and took some of the air out of things. But kudos to Hartt for winning.

SCD promo: Good and brief... probably more impact for it. It also had a chance to "reset" the crowd. They were hyped about Hartt, but then reminded of what was coming up and what was at stake with SCD's upcoming match. Perfectly placed promo here.

Fontana vs. Donkerhardt.

As the writer for this match... I have to admit that while I didn't find anything technically "wrong" with it, I don't think I did as good a job as I originally intended. I just couldn't figure out what was missing and how I could make it better... for that I apologize to the handlers and hope I do better by them another time.

Cole vs. Craven: Honestly... I'm not incredibly impressed with this match. I'm glad Craven went over, but I felt like I was watching the recent "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake... relentless "Look at this shocking blood and gore!" moments but no psychology or build up throughout the match itself.

RECAP of SCD vs. Black feud... and this is great storytelling. I've absolutely loved this feud more than just about anything else going on in PVW right now.

MATCH between SCD and Black: BEST MATCH ON THE CARD... huge drama, back and forth moments, edge of my seat, followed by pops and then having it sucked out, just to pop again... and then the big submission!!! FANTASTIC!!!!! AWESOME MATCH!!! SCD!!! SCD!!!! YAY!!!!

Gibson Promo: ... and a fantastic heat getter. Interrupting not the wrestler, but the fans as they celebrate SCD. Brilliant placement and Gibsons' promo is pure arrogance and poison. Exactly what it needs to be.

Max and Sal vs. Livestock and Gutch:

Nice to see M&S get the titles, but I've really enjoyed L&G in the title position.

Johnstone backstage: Good foreshadowing for the later activities.

Detson vs. Daniels:

100 rams to the turnbuckle spot seemed a little too excessive... but it was, otherwise, a fairly decent match. No complaints. Glad Daniels went over because it sets up for him to be a bigger name... and Detson has that called shot coming, so this was a pretty good match that concluded an interesting story.

Hayes. vs. AsH

Have to admit... I wasn't so thrilled with this match. I thought their first match was a little better. Gibson going over just sort of made it... I don't know... anti-climactic?

AFTERMATH:
Okay... I think it's really cool to have a strong stable again. With that said, I think they could have made a bigger deal in the next show of having HvD reveal his allegiance in a surprise moment. Other than that... great destruction of everyone who tried to get involved.

There's so much I loved about this show. I will reread this 3 times over and still catch more I didn't the first time.

HvD vs. Fontana - Awesome!

Cole vs. Craven - Superb!

AsH vs. Hayes - Spectacular!

I'm just spouting, but honestly, every match was excellent.

I'm really proud to be part of this fed.

I... Wow!

That ending really did drive the point home that PVW has to stand against HOPE. Bell said he had an idea and I am glad to see where it went.

I will review Boiling Point soon enough. Fantastic effort, all.

Moo's review...

Freeman/Wright: Great opener. Good action, and I loved the trading submissions as the time limits expired. Sure it was a bit of a cop out, but both guys came out looking strong and you definitely want that with two big free agents. Great way to open the show and get the crowd involved.

Biz/Sinister: I wrote this one, so hopefully the handlers like what I put out. It didn't come across as long as I wanted it to be, but I tried to put both guys over well and both strats made writing it go very smoothly. We'll see what everyone else thinks here.

Knight/Spectre: Good match. Spectre went over as I felt he should have, but Knight stayed strong. Like Cole, I'm interested to see what Knight can do with the pass out/no tap element... he could play that well if he works it right. Left Knight room to work with, but kept Spectre strong, exactly what was needed here.

Nevermind/Hartt: The finish came a little abruptly... but I actually loved the finish. Putting the crown on himself to deny Hartt the victory totally fits Nevermind's character to a "T", and while I wish there were some more struggle afterwards I like that Foley was still able to get the one-uppance by actually putting it on Nevermind himself. And leaving with the crown of thorns was a fitting ending. I liked everything about the story told here, not my favorite match but definitely some of the best storytelling on the show.

Fontana/HvD: More good storytelling, the turns of both characters was laid out well here... and turning two different characters in one match can be a challenging write. And I admit that that third arm drop sold me, I did not expect the match to continue well beyond that. Then having an appearance by a new signee to assist HvD for the win sealed both turns, and sold the "assistance" storyline HvD has been telling in his promos to prevent the end of the night being so apparent. Tough match to write, but came across as well as it could have.

Craven/Cole: This match didn't tell nearly as good a story as the previous two, but those were high standards to live up to and I don't think it needed to. These two just needed to rip the hell out of each other... and mission accomplished there. A little surprised Craven went over, though I do agree with the result. But Cole goes down in his own match and his wife took a huge hit as well... Craven wins big in the rubber match, Cole has his work cut out for him to maintain the awesome strength he had during this feud.

SCD/Black: I think I would have personally rioted if Dos didn't come through here. But both men came out really strong I think. Black was portrayed well despite the inevitable loss, and Dos did a good job of throwing in some new stuff (the new mask, the new submission). The new submission was a fitting ending after Dos had been locked in submissions most of the match. Would've been hard to write this match with such an emotional story leading up to it, but the match lived up to the rest of the feud.

M&S/L&G: This one got a little crazy at times. Tag matches in a cage can do that, but there were times I had to go back to reread a part to keep up with what was going on. But both teams stayed strong (especially given the Gutch "weak link" angle), and though I love L&G I totally admit the titles needed to be on Max and Sal. Especially given the pending end of the show chaos, this was a badly needed result. Glad to see new champs, and very very interested to see where L&G go post-HOPE.

Daniels/Detson: Best Fred Hoyle commentary of the card, without question. And I actually liked the 100-turnbuckle spot, sure it was excessive but it was unique and a fun read. As was the donation of the boot to the crowd. That said... despite the fun, I think this was my least favorite match of the card. I enjoyed reading it, but the action outside of the spots and the commentary just didn't grab me. Very interested to see what Daniels does with the Presidential job, and how Detson overcomes what I felt was a pretty one-sided ending to this feud. But PVW needed a new top face, and they now most certainly have one.

Hayes/AsH: No surprise on the match result, but it came across as a good match. Not the best on the show, but far from the worst... lots of believable near falls and great back-and-forth stuff. AsH is definitely going to have to work to keep his top spot with the two consecutive losses to Hayes, but he had enough good in the match to make a chance at it. And Hayes gets a clean win without help to show he's the best... so the match did do the job of strengthening the World Title.

Aftermath: Did... not expect that. :) I expected a beatdown/face save, but after the Derek Weaver thing earlier I figured HvD was done on the show, so I was legitimately surprised but in that way where everything made sense. HvD being the last guy to beat Hayes cleanly (plus being the American Champ) makes him the ideal candidate for HOPE, and completes the heel turn with excellence. And having half the roster show up to try to take down HOPE was a fun ending. Lots of room to play with this in the next cycle... well done finish.

Overall Impression:

Excellent show top to bottom. Daniels/Detson was my least favorite match, but that was still a solid match that I truly enjoyed reading. Great stories told at the beginning of the card means the undercard came across being way more than just filler, the title matches all had the necessary level of importance attached to them, and it culminated in a great setup for the next cycle. One of the better PPVs I've read as a fan of e-w... and I've read a LOT of supercards in my life. Super super excited to be a part of PVW for the next cycle... awesome, awesome work to everyone involved.
Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest.

I thought it was a great match and the psychology I envisioned when I wrote my strat came across one hundred percent. And as others before me have said, it leaves alot unresolved between Biz and Sinister...I just hope people WANT to see more from these 2 in future shows.

I thought this was a great show.

I don't know enough yet to adequately rate the endings of the feuds or how the final matches compared with the build up because I'm new around here.

So i will just mention the top 5 things I liked.

1. The pacing of the show was great. I enjoyed the brutality of Spectre/Knight and Hartt/Nevermind being followed by more of a traditional style match in HVD/Fontana, then right back to Cole/Craven. Then ending the show with an amazing contest between AsH/Hayes that felt like a main event match! It was just enough of a difference that allowed me to take it in at its best, while also never having a wasted moment in the show. Well done.

2. Heels going over. It really is nice to see a league allow heels to get some victories on the large stage of a PPV. In the end, it helps the product overall.

3. Hayes/AsH gets a special nod here alone. The match was great and showed off both men well. I was not shocked Hayes retained, but was happy to see just how difficult it was for him against the veteran. I'm now interested to see how AsH responds from this because I think he could be a compelling character.

4. Senor Cloak Dos. Pure baby face goodness. The handler truly understands how to write a good guy, plus to do it under the mask is even more impressive because part of being a good face is having the expressions and emotions that come from facing heels. Great stuff there.

5. I love that the tag titles were not just a "piss break" type of match, but given a real gimmick match and seemed to have real fire behind it. Tag wrestling has been on a decline all around, but it seems like PVW has some really good push behind the tag division. It is nice to see the tags given a high profile spot like that with a match that seemed to really read strong and put the teams over.

Like I said, I'm new enough not to know a lot of the angles leading into the event, but I really loved how this show worked and I'm looking forward to being part of PVW for a long time!

I still haven't finished reading the thing because of how ginormous it is, but going on what I've read so far and the spoilers I've stumbled upon, it's looking like an extremely strong PPV all around.

Well done to the fedheads, handlers, and match writers who in many cases have really gone above and beyond on this one!

That...is one big show.

My initial thoughts are:

1. I don't think anyone on the PVW roster has any blood left...they've all left it on the mat.

2. I don't know that there's a group of faces that can stand up to HOPE...which is interesting. I wonder if another group of heels will coalesce to take the fight to them if they get stymied?

It'll be interesting to see where things go from here.

I'd like to know how the original individual adversaries of the faces play into all this ... ie. does Sinister even care about The Biz now that he is facing a larger enemy in the cohesive unit of HOPE?

In reality, Supreme Wright doesn't give a shit about HOPE and only ran out because everyone else was doing it. They were like "Come on, man...we're going to run out! All the cool kids are doing it! You're cool too, right?"

He is easily swayed by peer pressure. :(
