Narration: A crazy person had a dream... [Fade in on Craven, at a drafting table, scribbling in a manner that does not suggest drafting. He goes to pick up his blueprint only to realize he's been writing on the top of his table and not on paper.] WC: *BLEEEEP!!!* Narration: A dream to dangle men from a 50' high ceiling for no apparent reason and hang almost 3000 pounds of steel by the cable equivalent of fishing line. [Cut again; Bill in a pitch meeting.] WC: And it will sway mightily, like an unbroken stallion trying to send a cowboy down a well! Marketing guy: I don't know ... where's the zazz? WC: DO MY BIDDING OR I WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN! [Craven snarls, showing all his sharpened teeth. A second marketing guy looks at the first, sniffs, then--] Marketing guy 2: Did ... did you poop? Narration: Some said he was crazy. Like me. I said it. He's crazy. [Crossfade to show Craven playing with an erector set model of the Meatgrinder. As he places PVW action figures of himself and Marcus Manson on the platform above a toy ring the whole thing comes crashing down in about a dozen chunks.] *BANG!* WC: Hm. Weird. Ah, I'm sure that won't happen in real life. [Bill picks up the toy ring. Well, half of it anyway.] WC: Wait. This is pretty thick plastic... Narration: The history of the Meatgrinder, now on DVD! It's a mini DVD. Mostly commercials. Coming to a store near you! |

Moze, I think the best part about Meatgrinder is your continued insistence that this was a good idea. |

A Daria reference? I'd ask if you were a pre-teen girl in the early 2000's if I didn't know what it was from my own self. As much as I am flattered by Jer and John's praise, I was really impressed by Manson's promo and am more than a little worried! On an unrelated note, after reading Rob Cole's rp, I seriously considered contacting an attorney and having him issue a cease and desist notice due to the possibility of gimmick infringement. But then I realized it didn't matter anyway and decided to never mind... Seriously, good job though! |

THE MOO REVIEW: Berserkers: I continue to be impressed by how these guys have improved. Wasn't an amazing promo, but sold the match well and showed respect for the champs, which is exactly what you expect from faces taking on face champs. Would have liked for them to sell the ASLL Tag Titles a bit more and stress the importance of the unification element, but that's the only flaw I could find. The Biz: Not bad. Did a great job of selling the frogs thing to keep that fresh in everyone's mind, which he had no requirement to do but helps that angle keep its importance. And I actually kinda liked him throwing out the "title shot" challenge to President Daniels... if Bell was smart, he'd spin that into the setup for a future title defense for one of the current champs (HvD?) for whomever wins the match. Tracy Hudson: Did a good job of explaining the past PVW appearance and the change in demeanor. Dragged out a little long, but a re-debut promo is probably harder than a debut promo, especially when a character change is taking place, so he gets a pass on that. I know the character well and like Hudson... I'm intrigued to see how he works out as a face. Rob Cole: He's got me intrigued. It's an interesting approach to take for him, but I think it's a good way to portray a face monster. I want to see more as I'm still deciding how I feel about the "new" Rob Cole, but he's got me intrigued enough that I want to see more and skip to the next Rob Cole segment to see what the new development is so I gotta give him that. Legacy: Short and didn't accomplish a lot. We're still at the "rookies who haven't accomplished anything yet" level that we saw in the last promo. It did put over the idea that they can't speak yet, but I wonder if that's a stall tactic while the handler develops the voice for the two characters. We'll see where this goes once they get through the obligatory jobber matches and get into the mix with everyone else. Adrian Freeman: Really short. Opened really really well, and didn't do much beyond that. Did an OK job of putting over the "Wright can't touch Freeman" element of the six-man tag, as well as the experience edge for the heel side of the match. But just didn't wow me. The Spectre: Accomplished the goal of explaining his connection to the anti-HOPE faces like SCD. Possibly also explained his involvement with Black. Didn't do a lot else. Love Spectre, as everyone else does, but this didn't wow me... just explained his place in the situation. Looking forward to the next round of shows to see what he's got planned though. Danny Daniels: I admit, I chuckled at the "Doc Holliday is Chance Holiday's father" comparison. And I also chuckled at the insect references to "The Bees". And there's definitely a few managers who deserve straight jackets (Jessica Marshall, am I wrong?). Some good creativity in the promo. Nothing dazzling done with the "President" role yet... but a fun read. Talion: I liked this. He did about as good a job as possible at dealing with what Black is trying to become, and comparing that to what he once was. A good facish promo considering the circumstances of his opponent, and did a good job of describing who he is by means of comparisons to Christopher Black. Lineage: Would SO love to see what happened if Arsenal swarmed the field during a ManU/Chelsea match, heh. As Berger mentioned, this did a good job of defining Randall Vermeer, and it did a decent job of putting down Cow and Chicken as unworthy. Solid promo considering the team's newness. Kevin Quartermann: I can understand the hype, even aside from it being a Jer-creation. Even being on the heel side, you can sympathize with the character. Really interested to see more from the character since I saw nothing from the second-run of the E. And the "battle royal" comparison was fitting of the circumstances of the match and could lead to interesting issues during said match. Chris Hartt: Excellent explanation for the loss to Hayes. Believable to think he could be a realistic contender in the future from this promo. The end of the promo kinda lost momentum a bit, but I'm still very intrigued to see what happens with this Hartt/Black feud. Livestock & Gutch: Wow. This one went on forever. I think in particular the Johnstone/Livestock confrontation might have been better served being on-card instead of on Showcase. It wasn't bad by any means, it accomplished a ton of various elements very well... maybe even too much actually. Moze is doing a good job of delaying the inevitable Livestock & Gutch decision, and I can already see what he's going for and think it's a great idea... but damn, this thing just refused to end. Heath Dawson: Good promo, still came off facish while putting across a good "I don't give a fuck" vibe. Faces who can pull that off believably are rare. Made me want to like the guy a bit, so credit where it's due. Not sure what the hell the Jessica Marshall bit at the end was all about, but that's up to the future to explain it. Hayes & HvD: Great job here by both guys. The dislike between the two is very believable, but so are the reasons for staying together. The turn is gonna end up being inevitable if they keep this up... but I legitimately buy both guy's sides of this discussion and this definitely lays a very legitimate understory to HOPE. Simple, relatively short yet to the point... great job on both guys parts. Christopher Black: I really like what Black is trying to do here. He didn't say a word, yet he did a great job of getting across his mindset. I'm allowing myself to get sucked into the story Black is trying to create here, and Katie's doing an excellent job of making me care. For a wordless promo, this was very well done. Derek Weaver: Another good promo from Camp HOPE. I knew little about Weaver coming into PVW, but I know more about him now. He's doing a good job of explaining who he is without relying on HOPE to define him, which is difficult to do at times being the new guy in a power stable. He's earning his place in HOPE, and defining himself as a guy to fear and not just the new guy riding on the coattails. Nevermind: This might be my favorite promo of the show. Excellent setup at the beginning of the promo. Great history lesson regarding the past between Nevermind and Manson. Talked down Manson's gimmick without trashing him. It was short, but it was to the point and accomplished a lot. Good stuff here. Larry Gionet: I thought this turned out decent. Decent history of his 2011 year, leading up to a good justification for what he did to Foley, and ending with the idea that the same awaited Cole. It didn't wow me, but I thought it was a solid last-show-of-the-year promo. Johnny Detson: He's doing a good job of delaying his intentions and letting people determine for themselves the justification for the Hayes attack before giving any actual reasonings. I wasn't quite as wowed by this as others were, but Hayes/Detson has been a long time coming and a slow-build is certainly appropriate for it. Marcus Manson: I liked the idea of this. Comparing Nevermind to Frank/Craven, while at once suggesting he was lesser than them, came across well. Challenging the whole "care about nothing" philosophy is the right way to approach a Nevermind match. Like others, I didn't care much for the UEW title talk (and I was a UEWer)... but that's just a blemish in a otherwise solid but not dazzling promo. Gold Rush: These guys are winning me over. Always liked Regnigh, but obviously he was a lesser character than Manson in Circle of Death... glad to see him really stepping out here. And Wilson is the perfect compliment to him. I'm really enjoying these guys so far. Cow and Chicken: Fully admit, severe writer's block this week mixed with busier-than-I-thought-I'd-be made this come out lesser than I wanted it to be, which isn't good considering it's the second promo. Glad some people are enjoying, but the mixed reaction is deserved as well. Better will be coming in the future. Chance Holiday: Good unification among the heels that, like Jer, I didn't wholely expect. Using his knowledge of Wright to sell Wright/Freeman was a nice touch. And I don't necessarily see him as a "Spectre Jr" as others have suggested... I think he'll be able to carve his own niche in PVW eventually. Would have liked a little more attention paid to the Danny Daniels situation, but given he had 5 other guys to talk about I can see why there wasn't. Perry Fontana: For a guy who hates tweeners, Flouze has certainly done a fine job of creating one. I thought this one was decent though, not spectacular but a decent "I'm not wrestling this week" promo. Did a good job of separating Weaver from HOPE in his focus, but with both Weaver and HvD as his targets it seems difficult to believe that he is willing to completely ignore the rest of the group.Uncle Frank: I really liked the way he centered everything around Manson. A fun apology to the belt, a good hype for Spectre... but it all came back around to Manson. And it was logical for it all to do so. Even aside from my long-standing love for the Uncle Frank character, this was technically an excellent promo regardless of who it came from. Max & Sal: I liked the well-wishes for Gutch. Very face-like, despite the history between the two teams... appropriate, and helps Moze get over that angle. Then, lots of hype for the Berserkers. And all this mixed in with solid humor (though the TV channel flipping seemed out of place). An enjoyable promo from the tag champs. Dawson & Seiger: Good back and forth exchange. Gave some humanity and identity to Seiger, which I have been craving to see. I think I have a better grasp of who that character is now than I did before reading it. And Dawson definitely is a character that I think I'm gonna be able to get into, it's a well defined character who can really work as a face here. Masked Man: Didn't much care for this. Kinda shed some light on the history, which was good... and I definitely get what the character was aiming for here. Taking Cole's shaking hands and showing how the table was turned was a decent comparison, but overall it just didn't sell me over on the importance of this development. Gibson Hayes: Good stuff, as others suggested. I think he gave more credit to Hartt here than he did to AsH after both matches combined. The transition from Hartt to Detson was very well done, and the hype for Detson as a contender Hayes seems to fear was pulled off well. Good stuff from the champ, definitely one of the better promos on the show as it should be. Sinister & Dos: Sin did a good job of brevity in this promo, getting a lot said about both Craven and HvD without needing a lot of words to do it. Bravo to the handler for taking criticisms and using them to improve. I really would have liked to see Sin and SCD take the Spectre fear and translate it to fighting Craven... that would have won me over in a big way. But it was a solid promo, pushed the on-going story for both guys while hyping the match at hand. William Craven: OK, I'm convinced. Bell and Moze have a grand scheme to get Craven his long-deserved title shot, only to make it Craven/Hayes in Meatgrinder II, just to see if they can get Picky's head to literally explode. Leaves a good setup to see what happens with Craven. Very glad to see the snake getting himself motivated, even if it came off as a slightly odd non-Craven-like promo. |

Hola! Before Christmas here you go, my Showcase thoughts! Enjoy? Adios! The Berserkers [This was really good! They addressed what happened on the last Shockwave, they hyped up the match against Max & Sal and hyped up thier opponents with alot of respect and really built this up as a face vs face match up to look forward to. Excited to see what happens, good promo!] The Biz [I think this was fine. The stuff about the frogs and Manson smelling bad was fun and him transitioning from an arrogant hot shot heel to someone just in it for the fight and the winner's purse, all of that was pretty solid. Not sure about the call for the match stipulation but it might be a storyline deal so I will wait to see how that plays out. Not bad.] Tracy Hudson [First off, the handler should read the Suzie Love RP in the 2010 CL Cup Hype Show (go read it and you'll see why, bwwahahahahaha). Anyways, I like the ideas in this, I think it could've used some editing to sharpen the focus of it a bit, but the ideas were good and I hope this run goes better than the last PVW & UWF run he did. I am looking forward to it.] Rob Cole [Wow! This was really good! He got his state of mind across very vividly and really hyped up the match with Gionet well. I dug all the nods to his past and while I may not know all the references I know they are references to people from his past and how that played into what he was saying. Digging Cole being on the edge of a knife in terms of his sanity and spirits goes, this is getting very interesting. Can't wait to see what happens and where things go. Good promo!] Legacy [That was good! I kind of like the way this is taking shape, Wallace is putting his rookie tag team through some hard paces but it does build up anticipation. Like, I want them to get to two wins so they can talk and I want them to get to five wins so we can see what ideas they have and so forth. It's a good formula because it does build up interest in the team reaching these milestones so you can see what they have to say or what they have in mind etc. It's really smart IMO. Good stuff!] Adrian Freeman [WOAH! Really good promo! Freeman can sure cut a darn good promo! It's interesting, some of his shorter ones are his best because when they're over I don't want them to be over, I want to hear more! He did great heel spin on the situation with Supreme and worked it into the hype for the six man really well! Can't wait for that match and to see what happens next in the build to Freeman vs Wright II! Good stuff!] The Spectre [WOAH! Really good promo! Spectre clarifying what his role is in the PVW vs HOPE war and it comes off super creepy! I fear for all the PVW faces! Really good promo and even though I know some of what is coming up next, I can't wait to see it still!] Danny Daniels [HAHHAHAHA! This was really funny, tons of fun and I dug the heck out of it! His plays on Freeman's name and The Biz's were awesome and I can't wait to see that match. An actual phone conversation between Daniels and Doc Holliday would've been beyond awesome to read! Dug the heck out of this! President Daniels RULES!] Talion [That was good! I liked how they used their gimmick and worked it into their match against Black and Talion being on a mission of mercy and wanting to help Black. I think it has alot of promise, I enjoyed reading this and look forward to that match!] Lineage [Good promo! Vermeer is a really good talker and he hypes up his team really well while taking shots at Gold Rush and funny shots at Cow & Chicken, all without burying said opponents. Good promo.] Kevin Quartermann [Good promo! Got his situation and desperation across, sold his need to win really well. It makes me wonder what happens if he loses? Will he freak out in a violent panic? That could be a great set up to a feud! I liked it, will be interesting to see more!] Chris Hartt [I liked what he was getting across in this promo but I wasn't crazy for the execution. Some of the dialogue came off like a Twisted Sister song or B-movie action dialogue, but that is nitpicky. The ideas he was getting across, selling Black's actions, how close Hartt got in the match vs Gibson, building up the feud with Black, all of that he got across and that is the most important thing IMO.] Livestock & Gutch [WOAH! So many things going on, all of it super awesome and gripping! Livestock & Gutch has turned into the best soap opera in PVW and I mean that totally in a good way! Folks enabling Gutch to a coffin, Johstone trying to recruit Livestock back into HOPE, Livestock maybe getting ready to take on HOPE along with everyone else! Intriguing, gripping and good stuff! I dug it and I want more of the L&G soap opera!] Heath Dawson [Good promo! He really built up my interest in how he does in the match which builds interest in an already interesting match (Quartermann did much the same in his promo for the same match). The bit with Marshall at the end, hmmmm.. Will be interesting to see where that goes. Good promo!] Gibson Hayes & HVD [I like that we're getting all these slices of the inner workings of HOPE lately. This put the relationship between Gibson & HvD on display and it's a tense dynamic but it works for the time being. Good RP.] Christopher Black [Black is starting to become kind of creepy/scary! Good set up piece for the next bit of the build to Black-Hartt, I am kind of scared to see what Black will do on the shows coming up!] Derek Weaver [Interesting! I am curious how this will all play out, Weaver in HOPE. It goes against his principles and he is promising to redeem himself at some point to his principles but for now he is in his HOPE situation. How he goes from starting point to the finish point of this set up, without being a full on face by the end, will be interesting to see play out. Good interesting stuff!] Nevermind [I liked this promo alot! It sort of reminded me of old school e-w promo vs promo type RPs and he made lots of good counters for Manson's gimmick and why his version of Misery isn't such a big deal compared to what Nevermind has lived around in recent years. Good promo!] Larry Gionet [This wasn't bad, per se. He hyped the match with Cole, had a thread to build the RP around but it just lacked something. To be honest, I would've liked to see him mention the deal with Chase Williams because Gionet-Williams set up from the last set of shows has some promise to it.] Johnny Detson [I liked the RP alot! Detson losing his mind and battling doctor's wishes was really good reading and entertaining. I have some doubts whether him coming off so fragile mentally, even though a joy to read, will hurt his title contender credibility some but this is really early in the cycle so I really have to see how all developes. But as a RP, I really enjoyed reading this alot!] Marcus Manson [WOW! I really enjoyed this RP alot! He worked in his feud with Uncle Frank into his promo and his arguments and counters of Nevermind's gimmicks were really good too, nodding to my promo vs promo take on the Nevermind RP earlier in the show. This should be a really great match up! I enjoyed this RP alot!] Gold Rush [Ah! I knew there was something going on with Lineage in terms of making sure Gold Rush didn't make that match! Fun RP and a good bit to building up Gold Rush vs Lineage. Fun stuff!] Cow & Chicken [Hahaha! That was fun! These guys are alot of fun, I am glad they are in PVW! They spun off their loss in a cool way and I am rooting for them! MOO!] Chance Holiday [This wasn't bad or anything, but I think this particular promo I really saw the Spectre imitation type comparison that I've heard Picky make. I'm not sure what the answer to all of that is, honestly, but I could see it becoming a bit of a distraction where people could read the work and think "Spectre V.2" instead of giving the work the benefit of the doubt. It's still early so there is alot of time for the character to step out of these similarities.] Perry Fontana [Woah! Really good promo! He's still trying to hold on to his lone wolf anti-hero type role but is slowly, ever so slowly, finding his way to the battle against HOPE. I like that he showed some anger and want to get even with both HvD and Weaver, that should go a ways in getting him into the fray against HOPE. I liked this alot!] Uncle Frank [UNCLE FRANK F-ING RULES! I love me some Uncle Frank! This was awesome! The guy is legit the best new character in PVW from this year, IMO. I am loving the build to more Manson vs Frank, love Frank's clinginess and protectiveness of the TV title belt. Uncle Frank RULES!] Max & Sal [HAHAHHA! That was alot of fun and very funny! I think both Max & Sal and the Berserkers did a good job building up the face vs face, titles vs titles match and I for one am really looking forward to Shockwave and that match! Good stuff!] Heath Dawson & Erich Seiger [Good joint promo! The dynamic between Dawson and Diamond/Seiger was interesting and Dawson's advice was pretty good for the young giant German. This was good and again, more good build to that 6 man match which feels bigger and bigger with each promo towards it! Good stuff!] Masked Man [Ooh! The mystery man has more bad intentions for Cole! It was kind of a reinforcement of what we've heard already from him but that was good, I think the build up to the reveal is going good and when we see who this is it will blow our minds, I imagine! Good stuff!] Gibson Hayes [Really good promo. He sold Hartt and then he really sold Johnny Detson! Looks like Gibson vs Detson could turn out to be some really fun stuff! A good promo!] Sinister & SCD [What is Sinister doing with this masked hack?! Poor, Big Daddy Sin, having to work with that loser, Cloak. *wink*] William Craven [Really good RP! I am digging the build up for Craven towards the number one contendership and I am really curious to see how Craven approaches matches with the caveat of leaving his ultra violence behind him. Really interesting stuff and I am way into this build up. Good stuff!] |

I normally don’t do item by item breakdowns, especially on RP shows. But I had some time to kill… so here goes… WARNING: I don't pull punches or try to act nice, so some feelings may be hurt here. -> The Berserkers Not as good as the last time, but a decent RP. I think they’re a great team with huge potential, but I don’t think they really met it this week. Not bad, just no "wow" factor this time around for me. -> The Biz Probably one of the best characters I enjoy reading right now. This is a character showing growth with just about every show and RP. I think the Biz is a few good feuds away from a title. Hope he keeps it up. -> Tracy Hudson I’m not so sure I liked this RP. I’m not sure what purpose the phone call served with relation to how Hudson is trying to develop their character, lots of talk about past promotions, the comments about his father passing away, the comments about his hair… I think the thing is that I simply don’t know enough about the character to care about his history yet. I’d like him to SHOW me who he is, not just tell me with what seems like forced exposition. Still, it’s not a terrible promo. -> Rob Cole My own stuff… which I feel like I might be failing at. We’ll see? I'm a fairly harsh judge of my own work. -> Legacy I love Roger’s work. I liked how it sold the mentor relationship with the two protégé’s but I’m honestly looking forward to the rookies being taught some humility. They’re acting a little rambunctious, which I like, but I think their teacher needs to bring them back to earth if they pull another “note” stunt again. =) -> Adrian Freeman Fairly… standard, actually. Not bad, just very standard. Sold the match, sold the opponent, but didn’t really do much to tell me WHO Adrian Freeman is and what kind of gimmick he’s trying to sell. At this point, I neither want to cheer him or boo him. -> The Spectre I love the new storyline with Spectre and Dos… as a big fan of the Flash comic book, I like how Spectre is taking the “Zoom” approach to teaching Dos how to be a better hero. Great work on the angle. -> Danny Daniels I like Dubba-D… but this promo just didn’t seem absurd enough. I know that may sound strange, but after winning the “presidency” I keep expecting Daniels to REALLY go over the deep end. We’re talking full meetings with a cabinet of people who either do or don’t exist or have any idea what’s going on… a special referee hire along the lines of a Rufus, or something just completely out of wack. Talking about changing the ring colors into something totally garish, just some really bizarre stuff… stuff that makes NO sense at all. That’s, strangely, my only criticism here. -> Talion Hrm. Alright, I’m intrigued but also a little bored. Sorry? I’m really interested in “Who” Talion is… more specifically, his mask. I want to know where it comes from, what it means, and why THIS is his face… I know something happened to cause him to wear the mask, but I’m not interested in that quite yet. I want to know WHO and WHAT the mask represents… there’s a story there that didn’t really come across in this promo. That he’s a face seems pretty obvious, but what does he want to do beyond “fight with honor” and all that other stuff? So... good promo but I want more. -> Lineage This feels more like a “singles” run than a tag team… it’s a great Singles wrestler, but I want to see something more than the big stone-like bodyguard standing by while the ego-maniac runs his mouth. I’d like to see why they’re a team, what’s in it for the big silent dude, and some degree of recognition that it IS a team and not just one guy with pedigree. -> Kevin Quartermann I loved his debut… not so fond of his promo, however. I get that he has a history of trouble-making… but if that’s your gimmick than show it, don’t just tell it. -> Chris Hartt Solid promo furthering the storyline… but with one addendum: never mention Josie again. Done once is fine, it shows that Hartt has been paying attention to who Black is but Dos already got revenge… now they need to build something between the two of them. -> Livestock and The Gutch I… like the Livestock storyline, but this promo just sort of went all over the place. -> Heath Dawson Decent content but not sure where he’s going with the character or the angle, and anyone quoting “the Dude” always seems far too laid back for me. Just my opinion, and it’s subject to change in the future. -> Hayes & HvD Did not like this promo at all. I know we’re supposed to be seeing cracks in the foundation, we’re supposed to be showing the differences between the two… but this soon? HOPE seems far too fractured to co-exist for any period of time and doesn’t seem nearly as top tier as they did when they first started. I think HvD needs to start coming to grips with his heel turn… finding the little bits of joy in just “being better” than everyone else, lie to himself, something that cements him more as a heel rather than show this much reluctance. -> Christopher Black Beautiful promo piece in context and it shows that Black has his sights set somewhere beyond Dos, shows that he is caring about another target, and it shows that he’s growing from his past angle with Dos. -> Derek Weaver On the one hand… I liked this promo for showing that Derek Weaver has a history, he had a family, and that there’s a reason he wants to wrestle clean and that there’s a great deal of regret in his actions to gain entry to the PVW. On the other hand: Weaver is supposed to be a heel. I want to cheer for him… I don’t hate him. Just being part of a heel stable doesn’t seem like enough to keep building him as a heel… and there isn’t a ‘target’ for him to go after. He’s sort of floundering around, looking for something to do. -> Nevermind I have no opinion… Nevermind doesn’t care and I find it hard to care because of it. -> Larry Gionet Decent, but I agree… we’ve seen a lot of the same stuff before. I’d like to see something driving Gionet… something deeper than him being “good” in that ring. -> Johnny Detson Great example of “show me”… which has been a criticism on a number of promos. You need to show me that you’re hurt, you need to show me that something has meaning, and Detson did a great job of both. He cradled that briefcase without once mentioning that it held that World Title “called shot” opportunity… he nursed that leg… great promo. Maybe the best in the show with regards to content. -> Marcus Manson I liked it. There’s some criticism regarding the use of boasting on past deeds… but he’s stepping in there with “Nevermind”, and boasting about the things you DO care about is a great way to sell the match with THAT particular opponent. Given any other opponent, I could agree with the criticism. -> Gold Rush Honestly… I have no opinion yet on these guys. They’re not making a major impact in either a good or bad way… no complaints, no compliments, they’re just sort of there for me. -> Cow and Chicken I’m not as into this guys as other people are… funny, sure. But I’m not big into the comedy routines. -> Chance Holiday See comments regarding Gold Rush. -> Perry Fontana I like Fontana. I really enjoy the writing and the drama, even if it tends to drift away from the main storyline with which he’s involved… it’s still entertaining to me. And this was a great promo… flat out, I hate meaningless “face turns”. Oooh, lookie, I’m a face now! NO!!! You don’t start kissing babies just because the fans are cheering you… look at all the major heels that have become faces… from Roddy Piper on down, they didn’t just turn around and start kissing up to the fans… they eased into their transition and they kept their edge for awhile. One lesson I learned about faces and heels… a heel wants to win, a face wants to fight. There’s your primary difference… attitudes to the fans aren’t as important, because the fans are going to cheer someone who doesn’t rely on them. Fontana is displaying the urge to fight, but he’s not kissing up to the fans. Great transition. -> Uncle Frank Loony toonie… decent stuff. Didn’t blow my mind away, but it did a solid job of selling his angle and his match. -> Max and Sal Sorry, just couldn’t really get into this one… tried to. Sorry. -> Heath Dawson & Erich Seiger And… hrm. Not sure. I didn’t like it but I can’t put a finger on why. -> Masked Man It involves the feud with my guy… and it did it’s job in displaying that “something” is happening between the two men, so I’m still eager to see more. The big question is whether other people are just as eager. -> Gibson Hayes Loved this promo. This is absolutely the best promo on the show. It did everything it needed to do for every person involved and didn’t waste space with a lot of exposition on what we could obviously SEE happening. -> Sinister & Senor Cloak Dos It did it’s job but not quite as dynamic as I’ve previously seen from either guy. -> William Craven I’m reminded, oddly, of the Saturday Night Live “jeapordy” sketches. Craven is Connery. It’s funny… it’s amusing… yeah. I’m sorry to say this, but it was actually my least favorite promo on the card. Unlike many, I didn’t think the Meatgrinder was that bad of a gimmick… I think the execution was horrible, I think the spots were wretched, and I think the match lacked any sense of psychology. That’s also what I feel when I read this promo… the content is there, but there’s no focus and no ebb and flow. Craven always has his volume up at 10 and there’s just no place to go from there… it doesn’t get louder and he never turns the dial back. |

Reading this line with Moze's current icon had me giggling.

I thought this one was decent though, not spectacular but a decent "I'm not wrestling this week" promo. Did a good job of separating Weaver from HOPE in his focus, but with both Weaver and HvD as his targets it seems difficult to believe that he is willing to completely ignore the rest of the group.
