Trying to get a feel for what everyone thinks the appropriate roster size would be at the moment.

After removing some people who won't be with us after the next show and adding a few I'd already agreed to before this so-called "freeze", we're looking at 22 singles and 7 tags at the moment.

Does that sound about right? Light in one area or another? Still too many? Should there be an even number of tags?

Whaddya think, kids?

I'm also looking to change out some of the JTTS guys for the new year. Probably hang on to de Klerk and BC on the singles side and The Hive and The Rave on the tag side but everyone else is fair game for getting swapped out for fresh blood. If you've got suggestions in that area, we can use this thread for that as well.

I think an even number of tags might be appropriate, but other than that, I think we're pretty solid.

I'd agree that an even number of tags is the way to go

Leaning towards soft caps of 25 singles and 8 tags.

22/8 is fine ... but I think a 25/8 is a good number to shoot for. I think you do a good job involving most everybody in something. So a 25/8 wouldn't be tough to keep active.

3 more Lynches for the roster you say? No problem!

Buddy "Mudblood" Lynch. 19-year-old skinny little guy who's way too damned aggressive.

1 Grandpa was a Lynch, 1 was a Keening, 1 was a Landis and 1 was Jefferson Rockford's dad Richard Dixon! He can be 5'6", 155 pounds and work like Spike Dudley~! Won't stay down even when a 300-pounder powerbombs hi--no, wait, he stayed down. Here come the EMT's...
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

That's kinda funny. I like the idea of the runt of the Lynch litter.

So, after the New Year's show comes out, I'll release an OOC roster with everyone who I believe should be on it. At that point, I believe we'll have two spots left for anyone who wants to grab one.

Start thinking about it.

Whoops, that was a joke. Someone needs to make the character, actually, as I like it too but I call not it! Waaay too much on my plate now as it is.

Since I love character creation, I'll tack on at least one of each (single/tag). Shall I send to you for approval or just tack them on the Jobber/JTTS thread and let you add them to the spreadsheet if they make the cut?

The latter is fine.

Here's a side question on the roster size issue...

How do we handle situations where a character will be out for an extended period but has a certain return date already built into his exit? (SEE: Vasquez, Juan)

Would he count against the cap or would he be considered replaceable? I lean towards replacing them and then if the return of said person puts us over the cap, the next character to leave won't be replaced.

I also lean towards being very flexible with this cap in the case of needing to bring someone in or back for an angle.

Your way seems best. No need to overregulate.

To add to what Blue wrote: If he has a character that is being cycled in and out, that character can come in to fill the spot opened by the character who is off for that extended period.

In other words, that area could be filled by the Sweet Daddys, the Soup Bone, the Dick Sullivans and other characters Blue brings in for a brief period.

Alternatively, others could take the I Make 'Em, You Take 'Em characters and bring them in for a temporary period.

That's one of the charms of the AWA, I think. It has that feel like the old territories did when you might expect someone to cycle in for six months and then go away for a while. There may be some guys who stick for extended periods of time but a nice portion of the roster are made up of guys who know when they're in a rut and can take some time off to freshen up.

I'd relaunch the AWA Open Door policy if I thought it would encourage people to come in for short stints.
