Well ... the extremely short-term feud between Manson and Craven had so little leadup and Bill's "prize" for winning the Blood Bowl was to pick his own stips. I wanted it to mean something OOC and Craven, in-character was trying to come up with some sort of spectacle to make it all special. It failed. Whether it was because people couldn't picture it, the concept was fundamentally flawed or some other reason ... it failed.

Does that mean that the character lacks psychology? I'd take issue with that. I'd say that several matchwriters get the idea of what Craven's all about and I trust them to get across the drama, comedy and pathos of the character in the ring. Every strat (which, I admit, I don't get in every time) I hand in includes a definition of gimmick, history leading up to the match and mindset for the character.

Anywho ... to sum up; I'm okay with how the character's written in matches ... for the most part.
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

Fundamentally flawed and so beyond what generally happens in PVW; sometimes a character's nature has to take a back seat and blend properly.

I also hate that stupid character sheet you always use, Moze. Fuck those numbers.

Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

Sounds like any Hour 1 main event from any old EMWC show.
Cole Hamels Fact #1685: The Devil went down to Georgia because he knew if he went to Philadelphia, Cole would strike his ass out.

Picky should find a way to Skype other people into his show. That way we can take turns spreading hate and discontent with him. Though I keep my hate low and my discontent high.

I feel like, with enough rope we could get Flouze and Picky on the same podcast.

It'll be like stuffing cats in a bag, sure, but c'mon. For that first 10 seconds before it turns awkward? Gold.

Money Crow would make an awful guest because he's in Quebec and that's 3 hours ahead and I record early morning PST (by that I mean 2-3AM).

...

I feel like I don't even know who you are anymore Picky.

You're totally right about Meatgrinder, which I have now subjected myself to three times to ensure I have at least some right to talk about it (oh, my eyes, the horror!)... and on further inspection, I agree with Moze to an extent. In the right environment (say, the old E) I think Meatgrinder could have been passable... not necessarily good, but passable. But in PVW, it just feels so different from everything else I've read in my PVW history sessions, including the recent Craven/Cole as well as the first Rebirth Rules. Just was WAY too extreme for a promotion that considers a no-DQ match a rarity.

But that said... this whole "pro-establishment" Picky is still really damned hard to get used to.
Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest.

Also: consider the nature of the Meatgrinder as opposed to Hayes-HvD in a cage. The 'grinder took center stage - not the men in the match. While gimmick matches should shine, they should not be the focal point, thereby taking away from the participants.

Ouch.

Jerod, you wound me!

Oh lord... you're right! I've become what I've always hated! Ok, sorry folks, I quit. Time to pack it in.

Yep. I'll be in Olympia tomorrow to collect your Anti-Establishment Asshole Card. If it makes you feel any better though, you can hold your head up high, knowing that you were the best of all of us.
