Below is an official press statement released this morning by the front office of the American Wrestling Alliance -

"Prior to the last episode of AWA Saturday Night Wrestling at the WKIK Studios in Dallas, Texas, there was a parking lot protest held by former AWA talent Joe Petrow and The Von Braun family, which escalated into a physical confrontation between Mr. Petrow and AWA employee Sultan Azam Sharif. As a result of the incident, Mr. Sharif was arrested on charges of assault and later released on bail.

Mr. Petrow has reached out to the AWA offices via his attorney and indicated that he would drop the assault and battery charges in exchange for an apology from the AWA.

After reviewing footage of the incident that has circulated on the internet, we _strongly_ condemn the words of Mr. Petrow and reiterate that the AWA has already terminated all connections with this man. He is no longer in any way, shape, or form affiliated with the American Wrestling Alliance and his recent barrage of internet videos targeting the company are under review by our own legal team.

However, we have determined that Mr. Petrow himself did not initiate any physical contact and has no legal responsibility for the incident. Therefore, the AWA grants Mr. Petrow's request. We apologize for his safety and, more importantly, the safety of the Von Braun family and all other fans in the area being compromised in the vicinity of an AWA event.

In addition, Mr. Sharif has been fined and reprimanded by the AWA, and warned that any further physical contact with non-AWA wrestlers will result in either suspension or termination from the AWA.

In regards to the Von Braun family and their recent attempts to organize a boycott against all AWA events, the American Wrestling Alliance again extends our most sincere apologies for the happenings that occurred at SuperClash III in regard to their patriarch, Scott Von Braun. Mr. Von Braun was a valued AWA employee during his short time with the company and the organization was as disgusted at the actions of Percy Childes, Steven Childes, and Daniel Tyler as our fans were. After further consideration, all three individuals have been levied with a severe fine and have been placed on probation against assaulting any AWA officials in the next six months. If any such incident occurs, the probation will turn into an automatic suspension.

We hope this ruling will give the Von Braun the peace of mind they so richly deserve and bring this matter to a close."

The funny part about that is that e-w characters probably WOULD be considered independent contractors since they tend to work for more than one major promotion at once.

_Some_ are independent contractors. Some, on the other hand, have ironclad and lucrative contracts~!
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!
