Just one week before the first Saturday Night Wrestling of 2012, the rumor mill is in OVERDRIVE!

-- Sharp-eyed AWA viewers may have noticed that Big Mama seemed surprised by the announcement that Playboy Enterprises had landed their latest member. It is well-known that Casanova and Big Mama went on SEPARATE scouting missions to try and find their new prize and apparently "Playboy" Johnny C didn't share his finds with his main squeeze. Meanwhile, Dick Bass is rumored to be wary of adding anyone to the mix. Remember, "Dirty" Dick doesn't play well with others and the fact he hasn't betrayed Casanova at this point is a shock to those who know him best.

-- Among the topics that Jim Watkins is scheduled to address during his State of the AWA address is the return of the Bishop Boys at SuperClash and their impact on the National Tag Team Title match, the actions of Percy Childes and the Aces at the same event, and the contract status of William Craven.

-- We've heard reports that Bill Masterson, Vice President of Talent Relations, has signed at least two new tag teams to the AWA roster - and at least one of them is making their AWA return!

-- The AWA remains in negotiations with several venues in Mexico as well as discussions with their partner promotion, SouthWest Lucha Libre, about a possible Mexico date in 2012. The show, which once seemed a lock to happen, has hit several snags during negotiations and now seems less likely than before. Rumors also continue to grow that the AWA will branch out and hit a new major city in 2012. We've heard Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Miami among a handful of others. All cities with strong AWA television presence that have been looking for a live event for quite some time.

-- The door was left open after SuperClash 3 for any of the three legends - Caleb Temple, Jeff Matthews, and Adam Rogers - to continue their stay in the AWA. As of the writing of this, none were currently in the AWA's future plans but of course, as with everything in this business, that is subject to change.

-- As we approach the one year anniversary of the purchase of Premier Championship Wrestling, the Texas-based promotion that brought competitors like the Lynch Brothers, Dick Bass, and Rex Summers to the AWA, there has been a quiet but building buzz that the AWA may be looking to expand once more. Many in the front office are so pleased with the return on the PCW investment, there have been behind-the-scenes phone calls made to several struggling regional promotions to gauge their interest in selling. Which promotion makes the most sense to this intrepid reporter? Look for companies that either have a foothold in an area that the AWA would like to expand into or for potential competition that the AWA wants to snuff out. That would point me in the direction of the Louisiana based Bayou Wrestling Association, the Carolina based Carolina Championship Wrestling, and Down South Wrestling, an organization that runs a loop of areas similar to the AWA's territory. Those three seem like good options to this informed spectator but with the search in the hands of Todd Michaelson and Bobby Taylor, it's anyone's guess.
