Great show! I never knew that Johnstone was that tough!

Looks like the storylines are shaping up nicely. The Spectre/Dos interaction was really cool and interesting. I also liked the deal with Craven and HvD. But I mainly have to say that I think this was one of my favorite Nevermind matches so far.

Good job!

- I actually almost bought the Detson/HOPE thing, even though I knew it wasn't happening. Very well written Errol.

I read that part on my way home from work, and actually muttered, "stupid fuck" under my breath at Detson. Yep. Marked out for something in E-W on a monorail filled with people. Great segment!

Hey, I wrote the Johnstone parts... dick!

Would you feel better if I admit that I had typed "Errol and Picky" then erased the last two words before posting? :boxing:

- Loved the Dallas Lawson/Christopher Black exchange, came out of left field but really enjoyed that promo.

You noticed that too eh? I do think Alice and Chains may hold the most theme songs in PVW history.

JC's review part 1 of 2... By order of Bell crying.

Weaver/Johnstone: I hope people enjoyed this. I certainly enjoyed writing it with Picky as Johnstone and Weaver are both fairly evil men, but they are so juxtaposed in their methods that it's a fun contrast. In all, I think Johnstone came off better for it.

Opening: As usual, a great set up and opening from Bell. You can tell he takes pride in making it as realistic as he can.

Detson/HOPE: I was actually able to read this as it was being written... and I was STILL Caught like a fish on a line. I was buying that Johnstone ACTUALLY convinced Detson into HOPE (I started firing off an email to Picky) until I finished reading the end and was sitting there, laughing at A. My own gullibility and B. The brilliance of this piece between the two of them. Wow, great stuff. Even got a guy who's INSIDE...

AsH/Fontana/Weaver: I hate doing angles with myself, so I was glad to have Flouze there to help break it up. I'm lumping in the oncard, the match, the ending, everything. It was hard to finally send off AsH, just after he'd gotten some real footing in PVW, but I think Weaver's an adequate replacement, although there is a derth of faces that I could/should have taken advantage of... I think Flouze did a good job conveying that he's working (and starting to succeed) in moving away from his old limb-busting ways. The fact that Weaver didn't laugh and/or go straight for Fontana's eyes (if you know the character) proved that he considered Fontana a threat. Looking forward to writing more along this line, and hope people enjoyed it.

Sinister piece: Joked about being Loquacious... and then rambled on again. All in all, he did a good job of selling the match, selling the last loss, pushing his ideas about fighting HOPE and... holy shit, what's Spectre doing here?

Sin/Spectre: Spectre running down Sinister for poorly training Dos was fun, a funny typo by Sinister (that little ANGLE Josie, ha ha ha)...sorry, caught my eye. Spectre kinda ran circles around Sinister in this part, but Sin did his best to stay in it. Something I noticed, though, for Sinister. All the words are there, but just not necessarily constructed correctly. I'd suggest reading your stuff outloud as an effort to proof it and see how well it flows. I think a few times of actually writing the things how you would say them would do wonders for the promos. Plus, if you're out of breath at the end... you probably wrote too long! *speaking from experience*

Daniels takes the show outside. Kinda think this was a silly thing to do and surprised Bell went along with it. Hoping that Daniels uses his presidency to do something constructive/fun and not just to break flow... But it leads into a Chase Wiliams promo.

Williams Promo: Ok, to start off with, I saw Williams in SCWE and suffice to say: I wasn't impressed. I kinda wrote him off as a guy who was good at one point and was having trouble breaking new ground. I was wrong. He put in a great piece here talking about the past, Cole, Brian Young... it was great! I stopped what I was doing and read the whole thing top to bottom. Great piece and very interested to see where this goes. And talking trash about Gionet being neutered was great! Loved that.

El Pollo Loco/Vermeer: Funny, but the mister man stuff was fucking obnoxious. I love Cow/Chicken but that's ...don't do that anymore. Please? Laughing at Vermeer "NOTHING YOU SAY makes ANY SENSE!" AHA HA! Fun little "Did Vermeer pay you to talk about his robe?" thing. Very funny. Moo's vs. Whoo's was really funny too. Fuck me, this match was fun from the beginning! I _REALLY_ enjoyed reading it and whoever wrote it? Kudos. FUN match.

Lega-neage. Seriously. One of you change your name... and Cole. VERY interesting piece between Cole and Wallace? Can someone get the rookies to beat down the stuttering old man? That'd be fun.

Talion: He's pushing the point of paying a penance for his anger. That's interesting. But still he recycled some of his last promo into this oncard and I'm not sure if that was the best step forward.

Biz/Daniels: Are we doing *HUGE FACE POPS* Now? Someone not catch that in the proofing, Bell? :D

Supreme Wright: He gets no love from Picky, but I'll give it: I liked this promo. Freely saying he made a mistake, that he handicapped his team due to his own hubris. I LIKED it. Showed a sense of personal understanding and the hope for growth. Plus it sold his wish to finally beat Freeman.

Three man match was good, and the idea that people are still pissed that Daniels is making them wrestle outside is pretty funny.

Fred Hoyle's promotion of himself as the announcer of the year was FUCKING HILARIOUS. It stole the show for me, so far. Fucking hilarious.

Quartermann is cranky, but willing to take on 5 dudes. ...yup, gonna leave the sentence like that.

Spectre attacks Dos! YOU CRAZY BASTARDO! Leave the little man alone. He charges nothing for awesomeness, nor the handsomeness of his mask, and yet you still attack him? (Sorry, watching Kung Fu Panda a lot with my son). The piece before the beatdown was pretty fun, as they are SO polar opposite, and I, for one, look forward to seeing more. Though, at this rate, Dos is will face the Devil in the next cycle? I mean, it's just accelerating at this point. Black, Spectre... Satan? Sarah Palin? What's next?

Manson/Nevermind: Fun match, Nevermind picks up a big win over the surging Manson... he's stuck in an odd spot, Nevermind. He's clearly in the area of a North American title but seems blocked out by Craven. I think this cycle should determine where he ends up (hopefully) challenging for a title he could care less about. Plus, Manson laid out Frank in a surprising turn... and the title case is still just funny to me. I love that gimmick.

Spectre vs. 2.0, AKA Chance Holliday and Danny Daniels was awesome. Daniels going over what he wrote on the kids card, followed by trying to force him to apologize. It got a legit chuckle out of me. Hopefully Spectre2 can break his jaw so people stop wrestling outside.

In no particular order, having only read parts of the card closely.

- Todd Johnstone needs to be more vulgar. And that's a big bad no sell for a broken finger by the fat manager. Would Paul Bearer do that?

- The stoned Detson inringer got me hook, line and sinker. I IM'd Bell midway through and said, "Worst. Angle. Ever." So, good for you guys. Too many WWO references for a fed that abhors talking about other places though.

- Quick thought: PVW is all predicated on getting the title off of Gibson Hayes. It's the entire direction of the fed, and that's awesome for the moment. But, as Blue and AWA found out, once the deed is done and the heel loses the title and the Ewoks celebrate, you've got to have something else ready to go. And I have no idea what that is, and trying to read between the lines here I'm not sure anyone else does either. You need to have a Grand Admiral Thrawn.

- Big long oncard with Hospitable Sin and Spectre, who is championing my cause quite a bit. The people in line to fight HOPE, for the most part, are soft, and if Spectre wants to toughen them up, he's a babyface in my eyes.

- Quick Thought II: I wonder if Danny Daniels is going to do the deal where he tries to be so nice and so accomodating that he ends up screwing with PVW, and the people turn him heel for being a nice guy.

- I missed the last cycle with AsH trying to humanize Fontana, and I'm on board with the turn, but one thing that's going to hinder it for me is one plain truth: Perry Fontana is extremely unlikeable.

- By God, Heath Dawson will have a singles match sooner or later, I swear.

- QUARTERMANN SMASH! QUARTERMANN ANGRY!

- Chase Williams. Not bad.

- Does this mean that even the big green evil monster man is a babyface when crossing HOPE? HvD was actually good for once, rather than making me wonder if Luis Garavello handled him. Craven vs. HvD looks to be the biggest style clash ever, so I'm all in for that.

- When someone says mister man, I immediately think back to Tommy Davidson and Jamie Foxx in drag on "In Living Color".

- The Cole/Alex Wallace interaction is fascinating, and deftly tows the line between talking about other feds and building history. Nicely done.

That's all I got for now. In closing, WHO IS OUR GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN?!

- I missed the last cycle with AsH trying to humanize Fontana, and I'm on board with the turn, but one thing that's going to hinder it for me is one plain truth: Perry Fontana is extremely unlikeable.

That was at T6, the two objectives being A. to orient AsH in a more serious role-model direction to put him in a better position vis-à-vis Hayes, and B. to catalyze the face turn I saw as inevitable the moment RftA2 came out.

But as pointed out, making a guy as unlikable by design as Fontana into a face... not easy. Fontana's got lots of idioms and mannerisms that were intended to make him as unlikable as possible, or at least trigger xenophobic responses... and I have to mostly keep those otherwise it would feel like an other character entirely.

Being too much of a douchebag was an initial problem for Dawson if I recall correctly, but since there aren't hard-wired traits or mannerisms, it wasn't an issue to make the corrections that lead to modern day Dawson. For Fontana... it's kind of like asking Spectre to stop speaking in "we" and "Little Dawson"... it wouldn't feel right. If toned it down considerably since 2009 Fontana, but I can't erase it all completely.

Also, I can't have Fontana become a true face, because he's been ranting about his father being a fraud for so long. Story being... Luke Fontana was a Sammartino style beloved face to his fans, but at home he was a bad man, which is why Perry has always despised T-shirt shills, pandering to the fans, and guys with needlessly flashy moves... therefore, he can't suddenly start slapping hands and stuff either, it would make no sense whatsoever.

There's also the fact that I'm a naturally detestable person, and being face-like is just unnatural. So, yeah... What we've been seeing... that's as "face" as Fontana can credibly become, unless you do a turn WWE style, in which everything that the character used to be in the past mysteriously and conveniently disappears.

The only real option the character has, imo, is the antihero archetype, the reluctant good guy. Provide an evil antagonist, and it works. If you match him against another antihero, it can be a bit tougher.

So while Fontana can't become a true face, many heels turned face recently, and they can all easily play that true face role that couldn't possibly fit Fontana... if they want to.

He never spoke with an accent.
He's from an Italian community known for it's trilingualism, speaking English without an accent. Well, not a French accent... not even the aboot's or eh's associated with some other Canadian regions.
But I've been toning down the Italifrenglish... ;)

Correct, he was too much of a Jersey Shore clone. So in this next incarnation, I kept some verbiage but toned down the blatant shitbagness. I think.
