I've read the second half... working on the review.

But you know what would help, Bell? If someone did a skeleton review thing of the whole show.

Example:

Weaver/Johnstone Opening:

Show Opening:

Detson/HOPE segment:

Such vs. Such match:

Yada yada segment:

I'm slightly taken aback by the lack of critiques, criticisms and reviews. (CCR?)

It does make me sad ...

:crying:

You're just trying to pressure Picky into doing a Pickycast.

Or me into impersonating Picky and doing a fake Pickycast where I call for a Fontana title reign and the Meatgrinder to become an annual "tradition match" in the vein of the Royal Rumble. Also, I'll pronounce my character's names correctly.

Excuse me, I have to go figure out how to sound like Picky.

For everyone else, it is a "segment" or a "backstage". For me, it's a "rant"!

21. Rob Cole interview: Cole is really showing the effects of his last few wars here, which is a great testament to his selling ability for his last few battles. This alone makes Craven (especially) and anyone else in the last few cycles look that much stronger for weakening the man so far. He black out and ...what happens now?

22. Christopher Black and Erich Seiger backstage: The manager gets harassed after harmless flirting with Jacob Rose. I've already told Bell my thoughts on the Rose/Black relationship... but this was very good in that it pressed forward a match for NEXT week that isn't even in the major angles. Black is just... a brilliantly written character and Seiger upped his interest quotient with me.

23. Spectre v. Uncle Frank - This match went bananas from the beginning and was just a battle of who's the biggest, baddest, most insane MOFO around. And then Manson shows up and ruins the little bloodletting fest. All in all, a singularly entertaining hardcore match, of which PVW seems to have few.

24. Shattered Dreams tease - CAN'T WAIT!

25. Chris Hartt and Christopher Black inring - Oh man. C'MON HARTT! KEEP IT UP! Turn that notch all the way to awesome and KEEP it there. HARTT is PVW's First, Best, Last true face. Yup, I used all of those. But it's true! And painting him against the canvas of Black (man, I'm good) just lets the Paladin shine that much brighter.

26. Senor Cloak Dos prematch backstage - Dos is injured, much as his amigo AsH. But he will fight ANYWAY! MUCH LIKE HIS AMIGO, ASH! ...only talented, and better. Plus the mask. Which instantly sells more merch. Oh, and the winning. SCD with the winning.

27. Craven & Donkerhardt v. Dos Cloak & Sinister - Great match, and sorry to Bell for not being able to write it. But it came out very well and showcased everyone.

28. Craven and HvD ending - LOVED the ending as HvD kicks his heelish heels into overdrive and Craven is shown in an oddly sympathetic light. Plus, looks vulnerable to HOPE, which I found awesome. I can't wait to see where the both of these men go in the coming weeks.

I'm trying to do a better job of catching a Roddy Piper vibe with Quartermann. Is it working (thus far)?

I thought so. And when I wrote his parts in the six man that was the feel I was looking for as well. I know in a Six Man not set on a PPV there is only a small section for each guy, but I think between the spot you gave me and the post match it really does have that feel.

Don't feel too bad about it. I originally claimed the match and then couldn't find the time to write it. At least people are volunteering though!

1: This came off flat to me with the whole broken finger thing. I get what was trying to be done. HOPE is not a unified group, which makes the dynamic even more interesting.

2: It was good. Some of the opening commentary just didn't seem to flow. It felt forced.

3: Good stuff here. I think the WWO references were fine as it built up a history I wasn't familiar with and put a lot into perspective. I figured Detson wouldn't sign and was ready to take his shot at Hayes. I see Detson as the next challenger.

4: Okay for what it was. I'm not a big fan of Fontana.

5: Fulfilled its purpose and leads into an interesting potential program of Weaver/Fontana. The reluctant heel vs. the reluctant face.

6: Had a few chuckles at Sin's comments where he poked fun at himself for being long-winded. I am interested in seeing where this thing with Spectre goes.

7: Skimmed.

8: Generic. I didn't really sense any passion in Williams' reasoning.

9: It set up the match nicely.

10: Good match. Continued to build steam between Gold Rush and Lineage, which I like. Cow and Chicken got the win. One thing I'm curious about with CC, can they add a serious element without damaging the gimmick. I think the feud/angle would have to be just right.

11: My segment. I sent this to Bell to be used on the Heatwave before this one and he didn't use it. It went to the right email address, so don't let him shift blame for missing the Sons of Anarchy stuff!! Mark agreed to do this if I'd "leave him the <TV EDIT> alone" afterwards. I just want attention, Mark. Is that so wrong?

12: I want to know who's under the mask. START DROPPING HINTS EVEN IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS CIRCLE!

13: Giving Daniels some more credibility without the Biz really losing any. Liked the post-match superkick. Want to see how the Biz will sell it. Good match.

14: Good stuff from Jue.

15: Didn't see Quaterma(i?)nn's hitting everyone coming. Sets up some things pretty nicely.

16: LMAO

17: It's Jer. Give it two more promos and we'll all hate him.

18: I like Spectre's direction with trying to pull out the evil of Dos (Freudian slip, I promise!)

19: Lost me about mid-match. Gonna have to go back and read it.

20: Wonder what's going on here. Nice setup. Seems to be a lot of anti-social, dark and spooky, cerebral types running around.

21: Cole sells the concussion. Want to see the Shockwave announcement.

22: Good way to set up their match for next Heatwave. Black's gonna have a huge year in 2012, I think. May lead PVW into 2013 as its top champ.

23: I need to reread.

24: Can't wait.

25: Liked it. I see Black being elevated with a program with Hartt.

26: Decent. Not sold on Dos just yet.

27 & 28: I figured Craven would do something to HvD. Didn't expect him to get wasted by HOPE. It sets up HvD/Craven nicely if they go that direction.

FINAL REAX: Solid card start to finish with some great joint participation. My biggest gripe would have to be the commentary between matches and segments didn't seem to flow for me. It felt rushed, for lack of a better description. I know the Chip's wife thing is a running gag, but I'm already tired of it.

And I'm not sure who wrote the Lineage/C&C match (though, from the psychology, I have an idea)... but thank you to whomever wrote that, as it was a very enjoyable read from start to finish. My strat came across well, what Tommy was trying to pull off came across well, and both teams are much stronger and more defined after that match than they were beforehand. Kudos to the writer.

Let me just stress that I feel the same way about this match. A really great read.

Rest of the card was excellent as well, of course. The numerous joint segments were a joy to read and are my favorite thing in PVW.
