There is probably some truth to this. I admit I just felt off doing the commentary between segments and match this show. There was quite a bit more segments sent then usual and that I expected. My apologies if it pulled away from the great work you all did send in! And, I get it ... pull back on the Chip wife segments!

I still say, just have Chip's wife show up to nut-punch Fred one of these days -- and he has NO idea who it is.

The commentary between segments didn't pull anything away from the joint segments. That much joint participation was great. That says so much about the PVW handler base to me. Do what you will with the Chip's Wife comments. It felt like the ONLY running joke on the show for the color commentator. And go ahead and ignore my blah (Picky) mood. It's been raining here for three days straight. I'm lucky I brought my canoe to work, so I can get home.

I will think of something since it is a valid criticism at this point. Maybe Lineage will change their name now and later want to force Legacy to change their name as well. There could still be "food for feud" there. |

No matter where I go, I always seem to end up working with Katie in some capacity. ![]() I do have one complaint about the show...to me, there's too many on-cards and on-show in-rings. To me at least, it causes things to get cluttered up. I understand that, with so many active handlers and that matches can get as much "tv time" as they need, you could have major angles from the top of the card all the way to the guys who jerk the curtain. No Daniel/Kingston 3 minute squashes here because there's no commercials... ...but sometimes, my eyes glaze over because it's "in-ring." Then promo backstage. Then "in-ring." And then promo. And then match with run-in and post-match smack talk. If there was one thing the IIWF did right, it was putting stuff like that on the Wednesday show and making sure IIWF Saturday Night had the BIG stuff. It made the card easier on the eyes AND easier to follow. Then again, PVW does have way more active handlers...I just wish their was a better way to format and present it without driving Bell to watching "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic." Boy's one overloaded card away from going full cupcakes. |

Part of the reason why Mike & I asked to schedule the Max & Sal/Berserkers match for Shockwave this time out was to help alieviate Everything Needs to Be on Heatwave. While Shockwave is admirably working past the "B Show" stigma, a majority of its matches are written by Rob, so he can't be overburdened either. We just have to find that right balance and encourage folks that it's OK to have cool stuff happening on Shockwave to -- even a Gibson Hayes match!

I was thinking about this last night and after sending in my stuff today, I think I've got a new tag team name to roll with. |

Gibson headlined the secondary shows far too often, causing it to become dangerously close to being the only show that mattered and PVW can't handle that possibility. |

What do you think is keeping him from snapping? He keeps his sanity intact by watching "My Little Pony". Without that, he'd have already murdered 18 people. Instead of only 2 or 3. |

This should totally become an angle. You guys should both brainstorm ideas, discuss with each other, see who actually wants to go through with the change... then get Sonby involved. It would totally be in his character for President Daniels to mix them up accidentally, decide that should never happen again, then use his presidential powers to book a "Loser Changes Name" match between the two teams. I can just see Wallace and Vermeer ranting about having to fight to keep the rights to their team's name. Could be a fun little two-week distraction for both teams, and a new way for Daniels to exert some of his power. |
| Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest. | |

A good point for this show. It came out of no where. That being said it was good to see the excitement and participation. This has never been the norm, although we have never hurt for participation. |

I think I can do a better job moving some segments that can work onto Shockwave. I do try really hard to use everything that was sent to me and where / what order it's requested. After all this league is mostly for you guys. However, Shockwave has been a huge improvement since Rob took the show over. A Tag title match last Shockwave and now an American title match! |

I don't want to just change it. I actually pitched the idea to Rob about the two teams feuding when they're freed up from current commitments. With that said, I think a match where someone loses and has to change the name needs to be immediate, and then that could provide the spark to ignite the feud. I've tossed around a couple of ideas. Bounced one off of Rob, but that really depends on if my pitched ideas come to fruition or not. Sadly, one person involved likes to play coy and surprise everyone with his decisions. Which is why there's a Plan B which is more built in in case Plan A doesn't come to fruition. Tolerate the similar names for the rest of the cycle. |

Part of the spark could be if the opposite team gets to choose their opponents' new name. |

1. Derek Weaver and Todd Johnstone Backstage Opening Segment Interesting. It was over the top with the finger breaking, but that's fine by me. Johnstone apparently leaves the selling to Gibson... but it came across that he was trying hard to keep his demeanor to make his point. (can't point any other way now!) This should come up as Johnstone screws over Weaver at some future point for breaking his finger, because his memory is that long. 2. PVW Brand New Opening Meh. 3. Johnny Detson & Todd Johnstone inring Very good segment. Errol has stepped up bigtime the past year. Oh, and if anyone else wrote stuff here they were good too. 4. AsH & Perry Fontana backstage A sensible piece of foreshadowing and development. 5. AsH v. Derek Weaver It did what it needed to do, though since when does Fred know anything about judo? Or any other martial art? I thought he considered the old-style brawler to be the only style of wrestler worth mention. 6. Sinister & Spectre backstage This was very intriguing. 7. Danny Daniels announcement Wait, what? We were inside, and now *poof* we're outside? Huh? Did I miss something? 8. Chase Williams sitdown interview with Dean Hayes Glad to see Chase back! 9. Cow and Chicken - Lineage prematch segment This is what C&C needs; some reason to care besides "they have animal costumes". Lineage seems to be trying to figure out how fan approval works? Interesting. 10. Cow and Chicken v. Lineage Very good match! 11. Rob Cole runs into Legacy backstage Wonder where this is going... 12. Talion backstage segment Huh. Wouldn't it be interesting if Talion WAS somebody from this circle who we thought had left the game, but was just working everyone? The promo made me more interested in the character. 13. Danny Daniels v. The Biz Decent. 14. Supreme Wright backstage segment Sold the angle well. It is an interesting perspective. 15. Seiger, Dawson, & Wright v. Quartermann, Holiday, & Freeman Good match; six-man tags are hard enough to do, but when the purpose of the thing is to give some shine to six new characters... logistical nightmare. 16. Fred Hoyle advertisement In the year 2032, Fred Hoyle is in federal prison. For this. 17. Kevin Quartermann postmatch rant I hope it conveyed the character well. 18. Spectre and Senor Cloak Dos segment There are multiple things that Spectre's dialogue could have meant, and all of them are extremely disturbing. Katie will be writing some very dark slashfic about these two, I can tell. 19. Marcus Manson v. Nevermind HEY YOU CAN'T STEAL THE HOMEWR... oh, I guess you can. I liked the brief interplay between Frank and the occupiers. It was a fun little match. 20. Danny Daniels and Chance Holiday segment Oooh, angry Danny Daniels. That's a side of him that he really needs, I think, because he's gotten stuck in a rut just randomly being goofy. Though, that could have been placeholding while waiting for the right time to start the feud he has planned! (that's what I'm doing, too) 21. Rob Cole interview This sets up an intriguing development for Cole. But what happened to the masked man? 22. Christopher Black and Erich Seiger backstage Another good feud start. 23. Spectre v. Uncle Frank It went the way everyone knew it would go. But that's because it was how it had to go. I'm not sure how you'd go about booking an end to a Spectre-Frank match anyway. 24. Shattered Dreams tease One of the little touches of realism; contentless hype promos! (that's not a complaint, those add to the 'environment' and feel) 25. Chris Hartt and Christopher Black inring WHO ARE YOU FEUDING WITH?! Black: "Yes." 26. Senor Cloak Dos prematch backstage This is how you do a babyface in e-wrestling. 27. Craven & Donkerhardt v. Dos Cloak & Sinister Just a vehicle to advance to... 28. Craven and HvD ending Craven and HvD both needed this badly. Craven needed (and needs to) sell something from HOPE if he's going to gun for Gibson eventually, and Herscher needed a killer promo to maintain his identity separate from HOPE. They both got it. I give it 2.5 of five stars (between "good" and "very good"). Strong promo work and some good matches, but no truly standout matches and a bad talk-to-match ratio. But as a TV show and not a PPV, that's quite acceptable. |
