The formatting thing was kind of an experiment. I just find the script style with the speaker's name or or initials listed before the dialogue to be awkward in some situations. But it's a lot harder to have to include the proper punctuation. I started writing this one in the regular format, but it didn't look right to me, so I changed it up.

Good work on everyone's part! I can always count on good reads!

Formatting doesn't bother me. I tried the traditional fiction writing format like how you would read a book for awhile, but people complained about it so much that I eventually tried to hybridize it with the brackets, writing it in prose format first and then reformatting it to the "script style"

Eventually i just dropped it altogether and went back to the traditional e-w format

Since I am new to PVW I am shying away from a full-fledged review.

Let me just single out the top five RPs that would have earned the German grade "sehr gut" (A) in my book.

Erich Seiger: A rare approach to a RP but a very welcome change of pace and a great way to keep Erich "non-verbose". I am not clever enough to get all of the username-injokes but their reasoning is interesting and funny to read and that is the important thing. SEHR GUT

Rob Cole: Wow, the last few Rob Cole promos (except perhaps the Heatwave on-card) have really managed to show the downward spiral the character has been on. It is really sad and haunting and easily dwarves my attempt to make Kruger miserable in my Lineage RP. I am anxious to see where Cole goes from here. The mystery stalker has become an afterthought, though ... Cole has me convinced that he is bigger problems than just another feud. SEHR GUT

Herscher von Donkerhardt / William Craven: Craven getting under the skin of his enemy doesn't get old for me. To see Herscher shout out Dutch profanities (and I have been on the receiving end of irate Dutch people ... they can curse with the best of them) may be my favorite single moment of the whole package. Of course I am curious to see more details about the history with Latex Lex ... is that something that has been revealed already or is this a new development? Anyways ... SEHR GUT

Cow and Chicken: This worked very well for me. Interacting with children allowed C&C to shine without getting difficulties in tone. I liked the nod that the interaction witht the narrator is just in EPL's head and I loved the teenager asking for Wilson's autograph. They could have talked a little more about their opponents but as far as getting to know the characters and making them work in a perfect setting, this rocked. SEHR GUT

Hayes / Uncle Frank: My favorite promo of the bunch, Gibson Hayes and Uncle Frank. What can I say what has not been said already? Steinar has never written Frank Knight better. Delusional, dangerous but always entertaining. Gibson plays his role to a T, manipulating Frank by saying all the right things. Weaver and HvD may have their own reasons for joining HOPE but Uncle Frank is a true believer and perhaps Hayes most important back-up (except for Johnstone) by making him look like a leader. SEHR GUT

By the way, thanks for the kind words about my Lineage promo. I guess it was time to get Kruger's perspective on why an obviously skilled wrestler like him would hang with somebody like Vermeer and hope I succeeded in answering some initial questions.

And it's time to finish up!

HEAT: Fun RP. I laughed at the Wilford Brimly (sp) nod "diabeetus".

Sieger: COB shows how to set yourself apart from the rest of the new guys in the class. Well played, sir. Well played.

Fontana/SCD: LMAO! I love the stalker in this one. And what she asks SCD to write. I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I wasn't far off after using Google translator. Good stuff here. Best thing from Fontana that I've read since joining PVW.

Talion: I'm hooked. I want Talion to find redemption. IMO, someone currently on the roster as a guilty party for Talion making his past mistakes. They feud and by beating that guy, Talion finds redemption. Yeah, wrestling cliche #353 but it's simple and it works.

Lineage: A fine look at the dynamic of the team. Awesome, awesome stuff right here. Loved it.

Hartt: Wow. Really good stuff here from Hartt. He's pissed and I'm ready for him to bust some heads.

Holiday: A solid effort. It pretty much hit the points it needed to, but I feel like there's something missing from it. I can't put my finger on it, but it's just the nagging feeling I get with this promo.

Cow & Chicken: Different approach and a nice one. I have to say, the tag division got a lot more depth with the teams added recently. I like that. Tag team wrestling has been lost in e-w ever since it died in the stuff we watch on TV.

Freeman: It explains why SW was sitting on a towncar in his promo. Good stuff from Freeman. I'm a fan. I think he needs just the right feud to elevate him and keep him from getting lost in the shuffle. I see him as a future TV champ.

Dawson: Solid stuff. This crop of new guys... wow. It's every single one of them is gonna break out and be something.

Derek Weaver: Good stuff. A lot of times, a new guy gets added to a stable in order to get the rub from the stable. This isn't the case with Weaver and HOPE. Weaver ADDS to HOPE.

Manson: Since this was brought up in another thread, I'll mention it here. I don't see a problem with mentioning his past in this. It added validity to what he was saying about not apologizing. Did he need to mention the fed by name and the people who are left from it? Probably not, but potato/potahto. Good work.

HvD: After the Craven/HvD joint piece, this piece suffers and HvD suffered as a result. Good character. Good solid RP. Craven getting the mental edge and not selling being outsmarted just hurt this for me. I'll post on that a bit more in the Pickycast area.

Fontana: Ya know what? This works. FINALLY, Fontana gives me more depth. He's turned the corner. I REALLY enjoyed this piece, Flouze. This, coupled with the joint SCD piece, really put Fontana into a new light for me. The icing on the cake was the brilliant use of hockey as an analogy to current events. Bravo, man. So far, my favorite promo on the show.

Max & Sal: ... LMAO! God, that was funny. Thank you for that. Great promo.

Hayes/Uncle Frank: We need more Hayes and Frank together. I agree with that. Great stuff.

Black: If I ever read a Black promo where he shanks baby animals, I wouldn't be caught by surprise. Great promo. I'd like to see Black get a run with the top title. I think all kinds of cool and good could come from that.

Detson: And we finish off very strong. I don't know what the deal is, if Hayes and Detson are set to go. If that's the case, this slow burn. I love it. I'm salivating for Detson/Hayes. Good stuff.

I'm glad people liked my promo!

I'm still having a hard time finding Seiger's "voice" as it were. Picky said it best: a force is nature is very hard to write for and make believable. I'm working towards something, but a match against Christopher Black deserved something...unique. So, I broke out an old idea I had way back when.

The Moo Review:

HVD & Craven: This wasn't bad at all. It ran a bit long, and could have used some editing... but I thought it pushed everything well for both sides. Craven rebuilds a bit after the HOPE beatdown (which he needed to do), HvD looks strong and gains some heat in the promo (which he also needed to do)... I think it helped both sides, without weakening any entity involved. It did kinda put a damper on the Heatwave ending... but otherwise, it helped the feud.

The Biz: I thought this came out well. It started really really good... I think towards the end he moved a little out of character, almost Spectre-like in his advising Sinister on what he needs to match up with HOPE. I got the distinct impression that more is planned here, and I'm interested in seeing where it goes. Solid stuff.

Legacy: Interesting. At first I thought the Wallace/Cole stuff was a one-off to get over Cole's confusion, but it appears there's more to the puzzle. I think Legacy is in serious need of direction, as they have a great setup going here but I'm not sure where it's all going. Still, definitely showing that the talent is there to be a tag mainstay, and I'm curious how far the Wallace/Cole stuff ends up going.

Rob Cole: Speaking of Cole... this was solid. Not spectacular. I admit the masked man thing is running out a bit, and Cole's dismissal of the man's importance didn't help. But in the grand scheme of things, what's going on with Cole is bigger and more important than whoever is under the mask... so I can see why it was done. Really interested to see where this is going, and from what I know of Cole it's going to be a slow build before we find out.

Whisper: As Picky is wont to say... debut promos are tricky. This was OK. It gave a good concept of the character. A good mysterious face is a role that can fit in PVW right now, as is a good puro-style character (which I assume is what I was getting from the promo). We'll see how he develops, but I'm willing to give the character a chance.

Senor Cloak Dos: Well, that's certainly a solution to the problem of masked characters overrunning PVW... cripple the biggest one. Seriously though, this was a great promo... HOPE looks stronger after this, and it may be the key moment for SCD that sparks his growth to the main event level.

The Berserkers: These characters are still growing, which is good to see. I haven't yet seen them take the elite step to the main event though, which is OK given PVW has face champions and L&G are leaning away from heel. But the tag nut in me hopes they are able to take that next step sometime in the near future, as I love the way they've gotten the concept across.

The Mercenary: Interesting. Seeing a level of conflict within Merc that you don't usually see from him. I have a feeling that Marshall attempting to expand her empire will not be handled well by the Merc... some really interesting possibilities proposed by this promo, and it got me interested in seeing where things go from here. I admit, it didn't come across very Merc-like, having read the character for a long time... but Merc is a character that could use to see some growth, and this could be very good for him.

Kevin Quartermann: Did an excellent job of transitioning what happened on Shockwave into the upcoming match this show. I actually liked this much more than I did his post-match promo... it sold the loose cannon character better in my mind. I thought the "intellectual" stuff at the beginning was a bit cheesy, but otherwise a really solid promo to sell the match with Freeman.

Supreme Wright: I agree with others... I finally think I'm starting to care about Wright. This sold his character better than anything else he's written thus far. Not knowing anything about Wright outside of PVW... I feel like I have a better grasp of what Terry's shooting for with Wright. If flashing against Nevermind is a tough challenge... let's get this guy some challenges, cause it brings out good stuff.

Tracy Hudson: Seeing a face Hudson is... weird. It makes total sense, and I think once he gets himself going he'll add a solid face to the midcard with potential to grow more. But it's still taking time to get used to, even though I was a huge proponent of it happening. I thought it started better than it ended... the Spongebob mockery came out of right field, and though it was funny it wasn't really set up very well. Rough, but fun so no complaints.

Nevermind: OK, I admit it... the format messed with me. I always think of the general e-wrestling format as being less novel-like and more screenplay-like... as if we're writing a script for television production. And I find novel-style harder to follow in this game for some reason. That said... I loved the content. The pizza thing seemed cheesy at first, but as I got going the "supreme" analogy really struck home. I'm loving Pudges as much as everyone else, and it set up the match well. Format aside, this was an excellent promo.

Gold Rush: He stole my narrator, and violated my patent on barnyard-themed RPs. And for that, Gold Rush must die. :) Seriously though, this was a great way to promo against C&C, which I'll be the first to admit can be an interesting task. Good interaction between the guys, a light fare from Regnigh, further development for Wilson, and sold the opponents well... exactly the goal of this type of promo.

Danny Daniels: I'm not a big fan of the refusal to acknowledge Chance Holiday. He's had multiple interactions with him in matches, he drew him into the autograph session, and he's PVW President... and he still doesn't know the guy? Perhaps it's all part of a grand plan... but at this point I want to see him acknowledge the guy a bit more. Otherwise, it wasn't bad though. I gotta side with Picky on the My Little Pony thing though... please no.

The Heat: We REALLY need Heat to step up, give a veteran heel team while the newer teams find their footing. So I was glad to see them with a Showcase promo. And it wasn't bad, I like Arvelle and his interaction with Dean was fun. Glad to see them being revived a bit.

Erich Seiger: Fascinating is the word I have here. It worked very very well. Sold Black excellently, while still making Seiger seem a realistic threat. Serious bonus points here for pulling off something most of us have thought about but never attempted, it came across really well.

SCD & Fontana: OK, I'll say it... Fontana's starting to grow on me. His turn is being executed well... very reluctant, but with legit motivation behind it. SCD is the perfect guy to help Fontana along to the next step... and I really am starting to think it will end up working pretty well. Good promo in the development of Fontana, who could end up fulfilling a desperately-needed high level face role.

Talion: I don't care who's under the mask, I'm judging him as Talion until I have reason to do otherwise. And the character is going very well right now. I think this promo pulled off what Chance Holiday is trying to do better than Chance has so far. There's a real sense of overcoming and growth in the character. Really looking forward to him getting into a regular program with someone eventually.

Lineage: EXACTLY what this team needed. We have an excellent grasp on Vermeer at this point, and I love bitch heels so I'm a big fan. But Kruger needed development, and this defined that character flawlessly. Lineage is a much better rounded team after this promo than they were before... kudos to Tommy for recognizing the need and accomplishing it.

Chris Hartt: This is the type of thing that will build Hartt up. Hartt's in a unique position, he's close enough to the top of the card to be considered main event potential, but hadn't put in the work to take the next step. This is an excellent step in the process, and I'm looking forward to see Hartt continue to grow into a top-level face that PVW needs.

Chance Holiday: This is a step in the right direction for Holiday. He set himself apart a bit in my mind, gave himself something that sets him apart from the Spectre comparisons. He could end up falling somewhere right in the middle of a Spectre and a Christopher Black... not necessarily the haunting ghost nor the evil bastard, but a hybrid of the two. I think that could work out well if he pulls it off.

Cow and Chicken: God I had fun writing this. Glad to see others enjoyed it as well.

Adrian Freeman: Supreme Wright driving Freeman's car? Heh, that's putting a guy in his place. The promo came off well, and properly hyped the Quartermann chaos while still putting it in the perspective that favors the heel Freeman. It hypes the match well while showing new developments in the Freeman/Wright feud.

Heath Dawson: Best chuckle of the night came from the F16 reference. Heh. This was excellent stuff from Dawson, and shows his long-term potential. He broke down Merc, insulted him, yet saw himself in a similar light. He put over Merc's angle and the match itself. Good stuff, Dawson is really growing on me.

Derek Weaver: This guy's gonna quickly outgrow his role in HOPE. He's really, really solid... and this promo is excellent. His analogy about AsH is superb, and his merger into the Detson match was flawless. It's the rare promo that I think wrapped up a little too soon, as a bit more expansion on Detson would have been nice... but that's just nitpicking. One of my favorite promos on the show.

Marcus Manson: As I said elsewhere, I think this was a good use of an outside promotion's name. It all led into an analogy about Manson not apologizing for his actions, and I thought it was pulled off well. I don't think anyone questions that Manson/Frank is the big feud of the moment, at least til Hayes/Detson gets rolling... and this continued it well.

Herscher von Donkerhardt: I kinda wanted HvD to hype Hartt a bit more here. Obviously you can't ignore the Craven situation, but giving Hartt a rub would have been appreciated, even as the heel champ. The match seems secondary to the Craven/HvD situation, and given how rare title defenses are I wanted more hype given to the HvD/Hartt match. But it was a decent promo for what it accomplished.

Perry Fontana: Brain... suffering... from... all... the... analogies... I did like this though. It was an excellent metaphor for the situation Fontana finds himself in, and helps the motivation for his turn. Two really solid promos from Fontana, and we're finally seeing what I've wanted to see for awhile now... the beginnings of a face Fontana.

Max & Sal: It's a really good thing I don't have much of an ego about my work. Cause C&C still can't compete yet with M&S as comedic faces. This was excellent. They sold Lineage well despite Lineage having lost their first two matches, which is big for Vermeer and Kruger. But I must ask, nay, beg... lady and gent, do not ever bring Rebecca Black into a PVW promo again, please.

Gibson Hayes & Uncle Frank: God, Steinar is grasping his lackey role flawlessly. When HOPE first formed, I was uncertain whether Frank would fit into the role and could be properly manipulated... but Hayes is doing an excellent job of saying all the right things, and Frank is buying it hook, line and sinker. The best promo of Showcase in my mind... these two guys click beautifully together. Moar please.

Christopher Black: This was an odd promo for me. I have freely admitted that I'm loving Black in the worst way right now, and I get what was intended here with the anger boiling up in Black over being called out... but I don't think it sold it for me quite like I'd hoped. Solid and quality, but not quite on the level of recent Black promos.

Johnny Detson: This was brilliant stuff. Comparing himself to Weaver as a soulless warrior, then showing enough possible regret to distinguish himself... excellently done. He built up Weaver better than maybe even Gibson himself has to this point, yet he drew the clear lines in how they were different and how that made "the game" different. Exactly what you want to see from a World Title challenger.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The battle lines in the HOPE battle are finally being drawn. Detson/Hayes is building well, Manson/Frank is staying strong, and now you have both Hartt and Craven gunning for HvD. Add Sinister and SCD (when healthy), and for the first time since they formed I feel like there are legit contenders for every element of HOPE to contend with. Add to that some great development from the new guys, and the tag division gaining strength... and PVW has arguably never been stronger than it is right now. Excellent work from all parties, keep it up!
Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest.

Alrighty guys. I will give my thoughts, but will stay very guarded. I don't want give anything away so I will keep things mostly about the RP itself. Again, excellent job everybody ... amazing participation!

HvD & Craven: Moze and Bruffy have good chemistry. The RP had good back and forth. I don't think there was as big of an issue with HvD looking bad as maybe mentioned. HvD has held the American Title for a year now. His merits alone make him look good. Now if Craven continues to no-sell HvD then we could have an issue. But this was an enjoyable after math RP.

Biz: It's true the Biz has been a little forgotten early this cycle. After the Sinister match ... the big man has had his fingers in so many story lines that the Biz has played a solid midcard heel trying to over come struggles. I think this was another solid RP trying to fight for a spot and position going forward. It also let us look into the cocky heel into what the frustration is doing to him. I think the second half of the cycle story wise will be much kinder to the Biz.

Legacy: I have had a lot of fun watching these rookies develop. I have always been a big Mr. America fan and how Roger writes Alex Wallace. The addition of Cole-Wallace relationship has even added another element to this interesting group. I do think they are nearly ready for a good solid feud and when they do get that going Rog will take off with these guys. I am loving the slow rookie build.

Cole: First off let me commend Mark. In PVW's four years this is the third time he has had to run with a mystery man type segment. It's not always intentional, but it's ended out this way. This one has been more unique then most Mystery Men storyline. It was a side story in the Craven-Cole war for many of months. Cole also has many elements of character interaction going on right now. It's one of the things I love about Mark as a writer. He can sell a story with the best of them.

Whisper: Debut promo's are never "fun" ... It's hard to sit down and write about your character with out a lot of direction or history. Whisper did a good job explaining to the reader what type of character he is before his debut.

SCD: Dos continues to sell and play the lovable underdog hero face. I know some people have been calling for the masked fan favorite to stand up and show some attitude, but I think we have plenty other characters who do that well. Dos is always a fun read because you know your going to get a pure heart. He continues to sell the story and injuries from the show as he sets up for his Heatwave segments. What else could you ask for?

Berserkers: Like a lot of you have mentioned before. The Berserkers have improved a lot from their first RP. The handler is very communicative and works with Rob and I in doing whatever we ask of him. They aren't Max and Sal by any means right now, but they don't pretend to be. They offer respect and they come out and work their rears off in getting some in return. They could stand to show some more emotion. To take the next step they are going to need to.

The Merc: One of the better Merc RP's we have seen in awhile. I know when JFM showed it ... Picky probably kicked his cat (if he has one)... But, JFM needed to speak out after the Dawson segment. This was a good set up for the Heatwave match at hand. I am also liking the Merc taking it upon himself to go after the new hot stars in PVW and taking it personal.

Kevin Quartermann: Fun follow up after last Heatwave six man match. I could see the Piper channel going here from Jer. I can't wait to see this character develop and this RP just teased me!

Supreme Wright: The Freeman-Wright story has been quietly one of the better stories I think of the early part of the cycle. The two handlers continue to do their work and build things and this week it has taken a big turn. I loved the way this RP fit into Freeman's later in the show.

Tracy Hudson: I like the strong veteran that Hudson is playing. This is Hudson's second run in the PVW and I think he will take a huge step as he builds some interaction with other characters. This RP got a little crazy hah ... I am looking forward to seeing where Hudson goes.

Nevermind: I didn't feel the change of style took anything away from the RP. I loved the way Alan wrote the scenes and build the RP up. One thing I always get after reading a Nevermind RP is that he could easily be ran as a strange face if needed. He is so border line at times! Almost like a strange Robin Hood.

Gold Rush: I always respect the interaction that John does between Regnigh and Wilson. In such a short time the two have developed a lot of chemistry. And some fun humor added in ... Someone tell Wilson that the girls at Hooters are my step daughters age. BOOKED TO LOSE NOW! :P

Danny Daniels: Hahaha ... And Daniels continues to make me laugh. Show-after-show ... One thing I have learned to count on is the quick wit and awesome comedy of Danny Daniels. TOODLES~!

The Heat: I love me some Arvelle. He is a mix of Jimmy Hart and Jim Cornette ... And I think if Picky wanted Heat to take huge steps then a lot of special things could be done with them in the PVW Tag Div. I have been waiting for them to take off ... and this RP reminds me why.

Erich Seiger: HAHAHA ... Okay I wont lie I got a huge kick out of this RP. When I saw - Jerryisatwork I lost it laughing at work ... The spoofs of the JTF names were too fun. And then the Tom Landis Avatar at the end ... A lot of fun! I know this didn't give us much of a dip into Seiger persay, but it gave us a dip into COB's sense of humor and that's always a treat. Fun ... fun read!

SCD & Perry Fontana: This was solid gold work ... I think it did a lot for Fontana in his face build. The Creepy Stalker later was a lot of fun. I kept picturing Dro typing EEEEEEE! HAHA! Then they end it with Dean Stahl showing up and they wanted _his_ autograph. That was some creative humor! I want to see Dean's response on that! :)

Talion: Another solid build up for the new character. WHO is under the mask isn't the story here ... It's the redemption the veteran seeks. He laid out great history and shows huge potential. He has already faced two champions and is set to wrestle a trio of tough challenges. Talion is up for the task and has found a way to fit in quite a hurry.

Lineage: Oh man am I glad I scheduled them versus Max and Sal. This team has potential to be the best team in PVW and this RP showed why I've thought that. Imagine if Heat gets back going ... Lineage continues to grow like we have seen in these two RPs ... Gold Rush, Legacy continues to take steps. Max and Sal could have a ton of good match up's. Well done sir!

Chris Hartt: Dean is always walking that fine line with Hartt waiting to just break out. I love the work ethic and willingness to change up things that Chris Hartt offers. I have some plans for the Paladin and he has some huge matches ahead of him with HvD, HOPE, and now Black. 2012 could be the year Hartt can live up to some of the things we have been looking for.

Chance Holiday: Solid heel run down. I know people have compared him to Spectre and while I do see some similarities ... To me it's more like Spectre is Jake Roberts and Chance Holiday is Raven. I think the fact he is working with Daniels will also help him differentiate himself and build his own legacy.

Cow and Chicken: Another fun...fun RP! They had me giggling through out the RP. While people have questioned Cow and Chicken's ability to fit into the PVW. I think Jerod has been very creative in finding a way in making it work. Bravo!

Adrian Freeman: Is there anyone more consistent right now then Freeman. The guy shows up and delivers RP-after-RP. He ran down the match ahead of him and worked in the combination RP with Wright earlier and developed their story in a easy to read quick read RP.

Heath Dawson: I didn't see this one coming. While I have been a Heath fan and saw plenty of potential in the character this RP came out of no where for me. He sold the Mercenary and his gimmick and history while making himself a threat at the same time. The F16 line had me laughing then he continued to sell the match, people involved, and the future story. Break out RP!

Derek Weaver: Back to Back top tier RP from Weaver. JC is an amazing writer he showed break out potential with AsH and with Weaver he is hitting home runs. Anyone who thought Weaver may be the weak link of HOPE has to reexamine after the last two Showcases.

Marcus Manson: Manson and Uncle Frank has been a story that continues to take huge steps. One of my favorite story reads in all of e-w right now. Berger has brought Manson back to a huge player and this week he continues to build towards that big Frank-Manson match we all are clamoring for!

HvD: Solid work finding himself into an asshole heel again. I would have liked to see him use this one more to build the match up with Hartt and his threat to stopping his year long run. There was earlier interaction with Craven and plenty of time for that. Still it was good work.

Perry Fontana: Haha some fun interaction with the famous Zamboni ... and Fontana in Canada plays off the Hockey lines and builds them for his match ahead. Another step in Fontana's build. I can't find much wrong with this at all.

Max and Sal: HAHA Funny! It isn't fair, Katie and Mike have the best chemistry in two handler ran tag teams ... of course they should!

Hayes & Frank: While Katie and Mike have the best chemistry ... Steiner and Dave may be second. This reminded me of Flair and Arn and how well they worked together.

Christopher Black: I think I told someone this recently ... I called Gibson Hayes becoming one of the best characters in E-W very early in his PVW career. I saw something special in the character and I continued to watch Dave build. I see something in Christopher Black and think he could be the next big heel in E-W. I hope I am right because Katie is an amazing handler and everyone I've seen her work with in PVW just gets better. This RP does that too as it builds up the Seiger match at the same time builds Black up as one of the most hated men in wrestling.

Johnny Detson: By the angles Detson has had since PVW's return from hiatus I think it's been pretty obvious what I think of him and his importance to PVW. I like to close the packet with a big RP and this was a big RP. Errol may be putting out some of the best work I have ever seen from him in 2011 and 2012.

In closing ... I wanted to say that I find the "Weaknesses" in a character much more interesting then the "strengths" ... I think every character in the PVW has something special to add. The interest, participation, and work ethic has been a pleasure for me to work with.

I just got back from a sci-fi con and have caught up with Showcase and all the board activity. I'm highly honored and amused to have made it into an SCD/Fontana promo. :-)

I want to make that SCD cover, now. :-)

Well, the promo ended before we could see what happened next, when the famous artist Dean Stahl bigtimed the two wrestlers and blew them off to go hang around with A-list celebrities and sports stars.

And are you ever coming to Dragon*Con?

If Christina Hendricks is at the same con as me, everbody gets swept aside in favor of her.

Dragon*Con is a plan for someday. There's a few folk I hope to annoy in the Hotlanta area. I'm aiming for 2013.

Very delayed thoughts. Won't do an RP by RP rundown, because there's just some people I have nothing good to say about.

- Craven/HvD. Woof. If I can't read it on my droid in between stop lights, it's not for me.

- Freeman in my opinion is better now in PVW than he was in AWA. He just has an awesome groove as a classic asshole heel. I agree with Picky in that in a land where most of the heels are sadistic, monstrous, loner killer fuckers of mothers, the more old style asshole stands out. Liked the continuity with the town cars too.

- I think everyone should have to RP against Nevermind at some point. Whereas with some guys you can just put it on cruise control, Nevermind forces you to come up with a strategy.

- Weaver's RP makes me ask a question about PVW's general booking style and the handlers' views on things. How far are things booked in advance, how much leeway is given to things growing organically? On this message board, the main buzzword I see a lot is "story". This goes with that person's story and this makes sense in the context of this story, and this would damage that particular story. And seeing as how the handler base, if you break it down, is mostly WWO and UEW stalwarts, (places where I never handled) with some ties to UWF, before the influx of all of us johnny come latelies (or flakers, in my regard), it's something that interests me.

By the end of the Shattered Dreams cycle, I can easily see Weaver becoming too big for HOPE. Strong RPer, strong "story" (there it goes again), someone who knows the ins and outs of the character and what makes him tick. Even if the plan is for Weaver to cowtow to HOPE and have those strange passive aggressive meetings with Johnstone until he inevitably cracks and strangles Todd with his tie, is it set in stone? Or is it possible to pump the breaks on that plan because his work warrants something else? These are things I think about.

- Johnny Detson is forcing me to buy into him and come along for the ride. And seeing as how I'm extremely biased to my friends in the game, that's no easy task. Rock on, sir. Would have liked to have seen a comma after "It's your staple" but that's just me being, uh, picky. Also, the incessant use of ellipses is giving me some flashback to Casey James. But the complete changeup from goofy President Detson to serious I want what's coming to me is fascinating. Although the one thing I'll say is that all the ellipses make him seem a bit loopy at times, or maybe extremely contemplative. I read ellipses as a pause in dialogue, so... that's Shatner level pausing right there. I think I would like a sort of sitdown interview with Detson and someone interviewer, so that Detson can pinpoint exactly when he decided that things needed to change and he needed to take more control of what the hell he was doing. That'd be good reading.

EDIT: Didn't even fucking realize I did that... whoops.

- Reading Fontana and the hockey stuff, made me think back to the scene in Chasing Amy where Affleck loses his shot on Joey Lauren Adams and they breakup, with the hockey game as the symbolism in the background. Kinda like right before Michael shoots Solozzo in the Godfather and the trains in the background represent the tension in his head.

- Mike McQueary described the noises he heard in the Penn State showers as a "rhythmic slapping". Jacob Rose hears "The rhythmic sounds of something getting beaten".

That was it for me this week with Black. RIP JoePa.

- When I had Gavin Cassel in PVW in late '08 into early '09, I read Gibson as a take on a politician, with the smear ads and stuff like that. Now I'm reading him as David Koresh, and having completely fucking berserk zealot Uncle Frank doing your bidding only adds onto that. Probably not how Picky intends it to be read, but entertaining nonetheless.

- In conclusion, I see PVW having the same moral and ethical quandary that RCW had in late 2001. Clearly, PVW is the place to be and there has been, and will be, an influx of talented handlers and writers, many of whom are going to zoom past some of the more established and tenured characters. At some point, Bell's gonna have to book the new guys to beat up the old guys, regardless of what their "story" is, and I think that's gonna ruffle a few feathers. I actually put together a list of characters that I think are in danger of falling by the wayside regardless of their current station, although I won't post it because that can do nothing but bad things to our happy little message board. But suffice it to say, I think the competition and participation is off the chain here, and I'm enjoying being a part of PVW in a major way.

Good day now.
