Thoughts on the show:

* Pablo O'Connor's been on a roll, and has earned the TV title. I'm not sure if Stephens is being written out or not- I'm hoping he comes back. An angry Stephens chasing O'Connor makes a great storyline.

* O'Connor could give lessons in "How to Cheat, 101". Ravi Kapoor can give lessons in "How to make an audience hate you, 101". Kapoor was awesome in KEW back in the day, and as a manager he's fantastic. I do want to see the Bhatt brothers speak, though- right now, we've got Kapoor as their voice, but until they start speaking they're pretty generic.

* Good work by Derek Martin. Martin's in a position not unlike Weaver in PVW, or Arn Anderson in the Four Horseman- part of the stable, not the biggest name- but the backbone of the group. I do think Martin could be a future world champ, though I suspect it's going to take a violent breakup of the New Alliance first.

* Johnny Axis promo. Bonus points for referencing "A Christmas Story". Sadly, some points had to be removed for a catchphrase of "Booya Bitchboy Booya".

* And then Axis beats DaMann. Good elevation for Axis, and I'm wondering where this "DaMann on a losing streak" storyline goes.

* Bonn/Scott Daniels promo. I'm biased, but damn I liked it. Daniels using his name to give him (and also Derek Martin) the rub. It's a standard story- longtime veteran getting tired of being overlooked and stepping up- but it's a great story when done right.

* And here's Frost to taunt the crowd, beat up a jobber, and bring out Bonn. Tommy's doing great as Frost- having Frost win the title in the battle royal was a great angle, and he's playing it perfectly. And Bonn is an excellent foil for him.

* Carmine Condor promo. Nice subtle reference to Cupid's Revenge. I admit I was completely wrong on who Condor was (I was guessing Chris O'Brien of the Fraternity Boys).

* Davis/St. James vs. Miuyki/Saratoga. My character, so expect lots of bias. But I think the payoff for the Woman in Black storyline worked. We've got a clear heel stable in Davis/McKenzie/Saratoga, and natural faces with St. James, Blake and Miyuki to oppose them. Hopefully it caught some people by surprise, and gives a clear direction in the UWF's woman's division.

* Annis and A-Mart killed the Gunslingers. I liked the advancement of the RIOT feud, but it hurts the feud when three faces jump two heels while the heels are fighting and face off to a standstill. I think it would have worked better if (a) it happened after the match and (b) Two of RIOT fought with Annis/A-Mart while the third played lookout for Martin. Or, in retrospect, hold off until after the main event was thrown off for the brawl between the stables to happen.

* Vasquez/Derek Martin. Too short of a match before the interference. I'd like to see a rematch down the road.

New Alliance interferes, Carmine Condor chases them off, then reveals himself as... GAMMA RAY? Interesting. Is Flouze trying to make face turns for all of his characters? Good luck with Eveline.

Vasquez signs a contract for the title shot, and we'll see where things go from here.


*** Overall- glad to see the UWF putting out cards more regularly. The talent has always been there. Vasquez as smartass face champ fighting off a ton of heels is a good storyline- and now he has Gamma Ray to deal with.

I've really loved the build-up to the WiB angle and I'm glad it's finally able to go off into the actual feuds, but my one gripe with the payoff?

MAN, that was a long promo. It probably could've been shortened up a bit.

I hope the Gamma Ray reveal was just as good of a payoff too...even if it means Flouze is in a world title angle. :P

Put me down as another person that loved the Bonn-Daniels stuff. I'm surprised it paid off quite so quickly in Bonn challenging Frost - I expected right after reading it a slower burn - but it gives us a hot feud, so I won't complain.

I don't want Stephens to be written off (selfishly) because I'd like to work something with him in the future.

I did not see the return of Gamma Ray coming - at least, not now and not the way it was done.

Overall a really good effort, I thought.

Well, a slower burn was considered ... but with the schedule of UWF I guess you can take two steps of an angle in one show.

We started planning this feud back in July, after all. ;)
