I think we should adopt the old (stolen from Palladium with changes) WWO system (that Tracy, myself and Stone used).
Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

Spectre gets cheered in a match v. Hayes for one reason: Because Spectre's a very violent, sadistic lunatic and he'll hurt Hayes.

It's the end result that the fans want (seeing Hayes hurt), they don't terribly care who does the hurting.

In my mind Spectre's always been on the line between Aberrant and Diabolic (probably a bit more towards Aberrant).

That's the life of a Hayes - people cheer other people if they have a chance to hurt you. So sad! :(

Hartt got left off. Is he Principled? Scrupulous? I aim for the Superman ethic (not the no-selling aspect), but still like him being a fallible human who slips but still tries to do right in all things.

Pretty sure it could be updated to PVW wrestlers....

"Face" Alignments

Principled

A principled character lives by a strict code of ethics. There is a
definate right and wrong in the world for this type of character, and
they attempt to right those wrongs. There are certain lines that cannot
be crossed though, and these sorts of wrestlers will do all that they
can within the rules to bring wrong do'ers to justice. A principled
character is the "ultimate" face.

Example: Fang //// PVW = Senor Dos Cloak

Scrupulous

People of this nature know right and wrong, and believe that those in
the wrong should be brought to justice... but if the rules are
preventing this, they will bend the rules so that justice can be served.
The adage of fight fire with fire can be brought to light with this sort
of character.

Example: Apex //// PVW = Max and Sal

I loved this whole post, top to bottom. Such a cool little addition to the conversation. Thanks, Errol.

I was gonna argue about Weaver's level of heeldom, but yeah... in PVW, it fits like a glove. Good call.

But the other one I was kicking around was where I would put AsH at... Besides the long term coma ward.

Heh... I can't find a category I like for Fontana, there. Unprincipled would work, I guess, if you interpret it sufficiently loosely.
Even when he was a Selfish heel, Fontana didn't cheat... technically. What he'd routinely do is manipulate or plot to give himself unfair advantages in ways that are technically legal.
And if he didn't overtly cheat as a heel, he certainly won't break many rules as a face.

Yet, unlike the true Principled face, he doesn't care if someone else does wrong, unless it done directly to him to an ally.

Supreme Wright would be on a similar boat...

In any case, I define "face" as the guy the fans would cheer. Even if he's not faceish. When a despicable heel cuts a promo, boasting about his evil deeds... and Kane's music hits, the big red monster heads for the ring and kicks the heel's ass, the fans cheer. Kane is in the face role, yet does nothing that is morally admirable.

The heel is the guy fans want to see lose, for whatever reason, and the face is the one they cheer - whether they cheer because he's sympathetic, or cool, or badass, or entertaining... it doesn't truly matter.

Is Detson a face? Well, he's working the face role this cycle, so yes he is. Does he do anything morally admirable? No, but he doesn't need to.

The suck would only happen if Detson suddenly tried to out-heel Gibson Hayes instead of just going with the face role.

Jer had a series of alignments that worked really well, one of which was "Heel in Face Clothing, or Face by Default" or something like that.

I'll see if I can find 'em, if not, I'm sure he can post them at some point.

I would think Wright is a "principled selfish" mish-mash. He's not here to right any wrongs or bring anyone to justice and he got a very self-centered view of things, but he certainly lives by a code of ethics and definitely recognizes "injustice" when he sees it and rejects it as part of his way of life. He's just...not very helpful if he doesn't consider something his business.

Those were character archetypes, not alignments.

JC (and Bell & Dro, but especially JC) is adamant about sharing this lameass, crappy podcast review of Heatwave with you.
So... I'll keep Flouze Reviouze Heatwave online a couple extra hours before deleting it.

Be warned that I have a pretty thick accent (JC compares it to GSP's), and that understanding what the frack I say may be very challenging for some people.
Listen to at your own risk and peril.
