Just do what I did and throw 10 segments worth of stuff in an in ring before every.one of your matches.

Or write 7 attack ads and an RP for a single RP show.

Seriously? Palladium?! UGH!!! I hate their alignment system... and just about every aspect of the min-maxing power munchkin system from hell. It's one of those games you sort of fear other people in the area might be playing when you move in, and then you have to go through the long character creation process and it just takes forever.

7th Sea has an awesome system where you build your reputation based on your actions... but then again, 7th Sea was the greatest RPG ever made. Period. So says The O'Bannon and I don't argue with that mofo.

In wrestling games I prefer "Face" "Heel" and "Tweener".

Faces will fight, Heels just want to win, and Tweeners are capable of going back and forth depending on who they face.

It's no Tales from the Floating Vagabond, Chill or Traveler.

And that 3 category system sounds pretty awful!

Yes, my accent is about 5% less bad then his.
My problem is all the stuttering.

But the one with the golden radio voice is actually Chris Hopper, if I recall. He could have DJ'd morning talk radio in another life.

Yeah we need to drag Hopper out of retirement to at least do some podcasts if nothing else!

I'm not retired.

Jake Evans is in IGA and I have Hopper in an angle fed right now, thanks to my former radio co-host Keegan twisting my arm for months.

Retirement lasted about 6 weeks for me last fall. LOL

I might do one for you guys, but honestly I don't know how informed I will be. The only way I know what is going on right now is by listening to Dro and Picky! I will see what I can do, though.

Never played Chill. Hell, I never even heard of it until... now!

And I agree inre: The Palladium system. I only really liked the alignment system. Everything else is just overlong crap. (Seriously... Two hours to finish ONE fight? WTF!?)

The only thing I liked about importing the Palladium Alignment system for E-W was that it gave handlers a chance to really think about their characters in the sense of, "Okay, my guy's a face. What kind of face is he, exactly?". But handlers can think about these kind of things without that alignment system, so... yeah.

And before I go...

... GURPS FTW!

The only thing I liked about Palladium was the Robotech license (and Glitter Boys).

I'm a long time GURPS player, but I'm getting ready to switch my group over to Savage Worlds. Nothing against GURPS whatsoever, but our gaming time is so limited, that I'm hoping switching to Savage Worlds will cut down on the time spent in combat.

Aw man... this deserves its own thread.

I'm with rcole- 7th Sea Roll and Keep was probably the best system I've seen. Simple, fair, and capable of handling almost all situations.

The one GURPS campaign I was in was a Supers game, and just thought the rules were to easily abused.

Champions is fantastic and capable of incredible flexibility, but it takes a day and a half to come up with characters.

Never tried Palladium, so I can't comment.

And thought they did DnD 3.5 so well that I can't imagine why they felt the need to create a 4th (and, IMHO, weaker) edition.

Savage Worlds is great for fast and loose gaming groups. I tend to enjoy playing the Solomon Kane setting, but the Deadlands one is pretty BA. But there are a ton of really cool settings put out for the game system. The most interesting one from a story perspective HAS to be Necessary Evil... alien invasion kills off all the worlds' super heroes, leaving only the super villains to combat the invasion. Great stuff.

The only major problem with 7th sea was the Sorcery... some of it worked really well, and other stuff only worked well for NPCs. Seriously... Sorte' sucked for player characters. The system was just a little too wonky. But it was a fantastic system for loose groups who love the cinematic storytelling technique.

Chill was a decent setting, but the rules were just gank. Traveler wasn't any fun for me, GURPs was okay but not really my cup of tea, and RIFTS??? Dear god, save me... never played the third game.

D&D 3.5 was just as fantastically broken as the 3rd edition, but Wizards wanted a 4th Edition that wouldn't offer the Open Gaming License of the previous editions. If you enjoy 3.5, absolutely check out Pathfinder... very good system for old dungeoncrawlers like myself.

7th Sea was a really cool setting. The system was fine, but the game didn't seem to hang around awfully long.

I'm really hoping SW is as fun as it looks. We're going to start off with SW Deadlands and then move on to another campaign idea I have. I eventually want to run a pure fantasy campaign with SW.

I always liked the original Deadlands. It was just so cool. But the magic rules were way too complicated. There are so many free SW: Deadlands adventures online that I have enough to keep my group playing for a couple of years at the rate we play.

Magic for Deadlands Reloades is pretty straightforward. Roll dice, occasionally deal cards for the Hucksters, and you're set. =)

The wrong people took over at AEG and made no bones they were focusing more on L5R rather than 7th Sea. There's still a huge fan base for the game and a couple of the writers have expressed interest in buying the license, but AEG refuses to let go of the property.

*is more than a bit bitter about it*
*BTW, there's a shout out to me & Sonby in "Rapier's Edge"* :B):

I've been running the original TSR Marvel Super Heroes RPG on and off since 1989 or so. Used to run it over AIM for a while with the likes of Don, Picky, Jeff, and others playing. I still run it onj Friday nights in Athens GA. That's my favorite system.
