Errol, why must you try to get the real Bad Picky to show up? Do you really want that jerk around again? |

Yeah. The Source WAS a harsh, harsh mistress. Even a nasty Picky is far tamer than 95% of the shit we did back then. |

I love that he's still harping about Coles' wife nailing Craven with a cane. That cracks me up. But yeah, my character is dark and violent and horrifying .... hence the "Psychopath" gimmick? I know it's a new thing in wrestling... I mean, no one has done that sort of gimmick before. If they did you could have called them cool names like Abdullah the Butcher, Cactus Jack, Bruiser Brody and Terry Funk. Not everyones' cup of tea, but I liked those characters back in the day and I enjoy the darker angles. Alot of "F" bombs in this... not a lot of actual "criticism". One thing about "Pudges"... I thought it provided an interesting dichotomy for the character of Nevermind. He doesn't care... so wouldn't it work to have a side character who DID care? Wouldn't that make some degree of sense and give the character something to do OTHER than mutter about "not caring" all the time? I mean, I guess stagnation and easily understood spoon-fed angles are what appeals to you, but some of us readers actually like to see interesting side bits with the characters in the fed. That's really the only place where I took any major exception... and I didn't even write this match, just threw out that nick name as a throw away to tell the story of the match I wrote on the previous Heatwave. "Foot on the ropes!" HAH!!! Okay, one more thing I want to bring up actually: A wrestling promotion wants to sell tickets, put people in seats, and see the stars they paid to see. While this is a game and it's partially storytelling, it is a storytelling game taking place within a wrestling promotion. Gibson Hayes is a top guy... The HOPE Stable are the top heels in the company right now. Two of the men who have chosen to take a stand against THAT stable, whether they're unified or not, were put into a tag match against two members from that stable. It may not be the precise guys they were feuding with, but it's there to sell tickets and to promote a show... with that said, I have never heard someone complain about their guy being booked in a match before. When you are booked on a card, when you are booked for what amounts to television time, you should take advantage of that time to promote your character with ring psychology and promo work... the complaints about Hayes being in a tag match were kind of pathetic. Really? But you're right... I missed every single clue about the Detson / Hayes angle. |

I thought it was stupid and told Brian but agreed to do it but I'm not going to omit my opinion. I didn't think the reasoning was solid considering - I'd rather have had it been a singles match instead of a Bell special (tag team match to involve as many folks as possible with clusterfuck written all over it). |

Which is eerily similar to the Stone Special which was a tag match involving 6 to 8 people which ended in a massive clusterfuck. |

I hope you weren't taking my comments about Pudges as criticism. Trust me, if I didn't get at least a little bit of a kick out of it, she would never have been seen again after that first match where she was called that. I really hope you don't think that Nevermind is stagnating. I've tried to hard to keep that from happening. But in the end, his gimmick is he doesn't care. I try to come up with different ways to show it, and to try to keep it fresh, but that's what he is, and for now, I don't plan on changing it. One day, when I come up with something that's good or big enough to change it, I will. Until then however, he'll continue to never... mind... |

I don't think he's stagnating at this point. I like that he doesn't care, but when writing a match and he's got a huge flock of followers... well, it makes sense to have them care about him. Otherwise, why bother to follow him? This was more in regards to what Picky was saying in the podcast. He hates it because it doesn't fit in with what he's already established in his head about the character and the existence of providing a contrast by which to measure Neverminds lack of caring is such a completely foreign idea that he simply has to tear into it. |
