Full 7th Sea timeline... http://members.ozemail.com.au/~iandl57/theantime.html I'm blessed in that, for the past six years, I've been involved in some sort of 7th Sea campaign here in DC. I've GM'd, played an Eisen monk based off of Dave Batista, played a Avalonian rogue based off of Captain Jack Harkness, and am now playing a Vendel Scholar based off of Walter from "Fringe." Love the system, LOVE the setting, hate AEG for the way they've handled it. Shadowrun - I own every book but one, even if I haven't played a session of it since 1996. I know the history of the Sixth World as well as I know real history. Deadlands - Savage Worlds is ok, but I prefer the "cards and poker chips" system. A mix of "Tombstone" and "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." Rifts - Never played it. Own every book. Serenity - My group one-shots this about once every three months or so... Iron Kingdoms - the next RPG I'm going to purchase, based off the Warmachine/Hordes miniatures game by Privateer Press...magicpunk, steampunk, dieselpunk, faithpunk, and necropunk...and that's just the western half of the continent! |

No love for Fortunato? Does this mean I get to kill him off? ![]() I'm also a huge 7th Sea fan, but more often than not I'm the one roped into GMing as opposed to playing. I have all the books. And I can rant about how all runaway literate tragically beautiful Fate Witches should be nuked from orbit at the drop of a hat. Also, I dabble in 7th Sea fanfiction... ![]() Deadlands -- miss playing it. Champions/HERO -- Like and miss playing it. Hate designing characters for it. BESM -- Fun system when played with the right people. It Came From the Late Late Late Show -- This system is how Virginia St. Ursula came into being. |

Classic Marvel RPG - I've mentioned this many times. It's where Picky's Pickycast references to "Bucky" come from. He's not referring to AWA's Bucky Wilde, he's referring to Alan's character in our Marvel campaign. I still run this game, though my current campaign is set in the DC Universe for a change of pace. WWF RPG - I've also mentioned this a lot of times, because a lot of my e-wrestlers started in a nearly three-year campaign we had with over a dozen players. I use the campaign as canon here, because there were lots of players and it went on for quite some time... making it more legitimate than some e-feds. Star Wars d20 - I also love this, and it's one of the few non-Marvel games I can successfully run. D&D - Anything but 4th edition, preferably 3.5 Street Fighter RPG - A fiscally unsuccessful attempt by White Wolf to capitalize on the video game's success in its heyday. Nonetheless, I loved it; it was very popular at Georgia Tech when I was there so we had some memorable campaigns. I wish I could get people interested in it nowadays, as it was a good setting. Exalted - I've only ever played in a DragonBlooded game, so I don't even know how the core setting looks, but I don't care. I like it. I also stole an e-wrestler's name for my character's name even though the two characters couldn't possibly be more different. I've played many many others, but these are the ones I like best. |

Ah geez. I think I've played everything listed here as well as a dozen or so other whacky, more obscure ones. Mekton Zeta, Battlelords and Blood Dawn leap to mind. I've also made several attempts at creating my own ruleset but time and interest have impacted those attempts negatively... |

Running a Dark Sun campaign on 4E. Everyone has become a nobleman slaver prick despite starting off as slaves themselves. It's a harsh world, guys. |

Let the Nerdout begin. ![]() Star Wars d6 - WEG's shot at Star Wars before they went under in the late 90's and WotC snapped the license up for the d20 system. Currently running a campaign in this set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back for my long-time tabletop group. I love this system and (personal opinion) it's a far better fit for the Star Wars setting than the d20 system I feel. Paranoia - Are you happy, troubleshooter? Happiness is mandatory. Friend Computer has a happy, fun assignment for you where you get to test out the R&D division's newest commie-mutant-traitor countermeasures. Won't this be fun, troubleshooter? Aren't you glad friend Computer thought of you for this assignment? Aren't you extra glad friend Computer had the foresight to classify the user manuals for the new equipment above your security clearance so you will be unable to reveal their secrets if captured by commie-mutant-traitors? Feng Shui - Hong Kong action movie RPG with everything from eunuch sorcerers with high-pitched voices through wire-fu martial arts through John Woo style modern cop movies and Jackie Chan martial arts and all the way to cyberpunkish dark future. Fun game, but I haven't been able to play it nearly as often as I would like. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay - Fantasy gaming in a world where life is, quite frankly, shit for most people. Fun system with an interesting career system. It's pretty damn easy to die in the Warhammer world, however. Healing magic isn't near as common as in a D&D setting, and who would trust a magician anyway? He's most likely in league with the forces of chaos. Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0. - Love this system. Had a long running campaign in it which ended when my players got too cocky after having it too easy for a while and decided to take on a Eurosolo assassin on the spur of the moment without being prepared or and having left most of their equipment in their hotel room. TPK. Worst part is they forced the confrontation themselves. He was just there to warn them off a job they had taken for his target as a courtesy to fellow professionals. Mechwarrior - Never got to play this much. Most sessions became more about the Battletech boardgame than the Mechwarrior RPG. Champions/HERO system - I have to second what Katie said about this. Love the system, but character generation takes for-freaking-ever. |

Lesse... Star Wars d6: Lots of fun, played with many different groups...I agree that it's superior to the d20 system, which I've also played. Deadlands: Tons of fun...possibly my favorite system. Dresden Files RPG: Newst one that we've tried...not sure how I feel about the mechanics, but the source material is very well put together and highly amusing. Shadowrun: Loved the older versions...combat got a bit too lethal in there somewhere though. I still profess to being baffled how some movie studio hasn't bought up the rights to this and made a ton of money with some feature films. DnD: Not a big fan of the newer stuff...up to 3.5 was acceptable. White Wolf WoD: I was a HUGE fan back in the day, and still feel that oWoD Mage (2nd and 3rd ed, in particular) are the finest games I've ever played. They require a good GM and a decent group...but if that's in place the sky's the limit. Great setting, interesting back story, compelling antagonists. Great stuff. To see what it morphed into with the abomination that is nWoD just makes me sad. VtM was a good game, WtA was decent, but tended to become combat twinked if you weren't careful. WtO probably could have been awesome with the right mindset, but I never played for long. CtD was amusing, but best as a stand alone game. Demon the Fallen should never have been made. Call of Cthulu: Tons of fun, but you're totally doomed. Don't expect a character to survive more than an adventure or two. Marvel RPG: Jer did a great job with it...and it takes a certain kind of GM to make it work, 'cause the system's a bit clunky. DC RPG: The old Mayfair games one...the system is even more clunky than Marvel's...only the fact that you're playing a superhero game saves it. Champions: I lack a degree in advanced mathematics. |

I've played many, many different systems in my gaming career. But the ones I've played the most are: Original Advanced D & D -- this is how I spent my high school days. I didn't go on dates, I had a 12th lv wizard to take care of! Marvel Super Heroes -- I played a Hell of a lot of this game, both around the table and online. And Bucky was a fine character, Picky just didn't like him because he was actually heroic and didn't carry around an inflatable donkey. GURPS --The system I've played most. My brother loved GURPS, and ran a game that lasted for several years. It's a great game, but since I'm running the game now, I need something that doesn't require as much book keeping for combat. Call of Cthulhu -- Probably my favorite game even though I only ever play it at conventions. When CoC is ran properly, it is a truly great experience. Sadly, that doesn't happen as much as I would like. I liked 7th Sea, but didn't play it too much. I really dug the setting though. I had Highland guy that had a tragic love affair with a fairy. Well, tragic for him, anyway. I have an incredible amount of original Deadlands books. I loved the whole setting, but the rules were just too unwieldy. It was definitely a style over simplicity system. I'm really looking forward to running a Savage Worlds game. I've played a few games, and ran a few short adventures for it, and I really think it's a great system. Plus, you can't beat getting a complete rule book for only 10 bucks! Did anyone ever play Brave New World? Like Deadlands, it was not only a system, but a setting. A dark superhero game with relatively low powered supers that were hunted and outlawed by the government. It was a good game, and they put out several books for it, but it never took off and went under. Another interesting game was Little Fears. Very dark, but a neat idea. It was too dark though, and never caught on. |

Amen. Although for sheer difficulty, the old Villians and Vigilantes game was the worst. You had to do actual algebra to calculate falling damage! |

Chill - Love the setting, mainly fudged the die rolls. TORG - I loved WEG's system for this game and the fact it was just so unruly at times. I also loved that Orrosh was a full party kill realm. Paranoia - The Computer is your friend. WEG's line up was incredible. TORG, D6 Star Wars and Paranoia? Bloody amazing! Kult - Amazing setting, good system, nigh impossible to play as a campaign. Good CCG too. Tales of the Floating Vagabond - Comedy RPGs - I love them! Combat vomitting is still my favorite skill. Twilight 2000 - Fun times in post WWIII Traveller - I loved Games Designers Workshop too! Spaaaaaaaaaaaaace opera! Teenagers from Outer Space - With the right group this is probably my favorite campaign RPG. Plus the title says it all. All Star Wrestling Federation - Amazingly small print run and I still get hit up by folks asking to buy my copy no matter how funky a condition it may be in. Decent wrestling RPG with a pretty good wrestling federation and all sorts of neat information. I need to look in some old moving boxes because I'm thinking of finally scanning it and putting it up on the interwebs. Also where 90% of my e-w characters originate from (Still around 40-50 I have never used outside of this game though!) World of Darkness - I was a sucker for V:tM, W:tA and M:tA though all three were pretty fucking bad at times. I almost always played a Ventrue, Glass Walker or a Virtual Adept because I couldn't be a Progneitor or Void Engineer. All Flesh Must Be Eaten - Zombie shit. World of Synnabar - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I own this because it is so awful. |

I didn't mind playing d6, but making a character sucked. You were essentially given a list of characters you could play instead of being able to truly make your own concept. Of course, now that we've mentioned Star Wars d6, Jeff Stein will materialize out of nowhere and try to murder me again for liking d20 better. Though... if anyone decides to run something online via chatroom, I'm in (unless it conflicts with tabletop or Bible study nights) |
