I'm wondering how Face Hayes vs Spectre might play out.

"Your Beast has grown fat and lethargic, friend Hayes. Let us help you..."

Initially, folks might cheer Spectre, just because the thought of Hayes getting his ass kicked is a cathartic one. But I think Spectre could cross a line that even the fans should start to feel that this is too far -- that even Gibson Hayes doesn't deserve this. Especially if Todd and Bubba are brutally taken out of the equation. Yes, Gibson is a cheater (and coward) at heart, but he has proven he can fight on his own if his back is against the wall.
And here's where I pretend to be a writer...

The Orton face turn didn't fail because people didn't want to cheer for Orton. It failed because, after dumping him from the stable, he was made to look weak by comparison to stable that dumped him. If he had gone through Batista, Flair, and then beaten HHH to regain the belt, he'd have been over as a face at that time.

I mostly agree.
It's fairly blatant when you compare it with how Batista was booked when he slow turned out of the same stable.

Instead of being taken out because he was a weak link, he was taken out because he was so strong he threatened HHH's leadership position. It made a huge difference to the casual fan, I think.

I think it takes Todd the Rod and HOPE turning on Hayes to get the fans to feel a little sorry for him ... Maybe Uncle Frank as the new leader as a crazy Charles Manson type!

The real problem I see is after dealing with HOPE, is Gibson going to stay the same cheating bastard that people hated in the first place? Is he going to humble himself, even a little? IIRC, Orton turned again soon after his story with Evolution was done and he was back to being an ass. The Rock, for all his asshole ways, eventually integrated himself with the other faces and even teamed up with a few of them...while Gibson seems to hold contempt for the entire human race. The more interesting development would be how he'd deal with the other half of the roster that he'd tormented for years.

Same thing with Black...I can't see him and SCD on the same side. lol

Mind you, if Black ever did genuinely atone and turn face while SCD went the Knight Templar heel route, that'd be an interesting rematch of a feud for later...

You're right. It wouldn't have worked if he was a hipster.

I demand Fontana begin growing a beard, wear skinny jeans, ironic t-shirts and fake glasses. Hipster Fontana is marketing gold.
Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

He uses a submission finisher, but it's so obscure that you probably never heard of it.

I actually have thought about how to turn Gibson face and have a plan in case the occasion should arrive.

Gibby, unlike Tyrone, is a colossal asshole. Tyrone was always about entertaining folks and could have easily turned - not so much Gibson. One of the reasons I tried to make Gibson a giant jerk is because I wanted to separate him from Ty (because some handlers remember that guy).

I also took Gibby away from funny heel to make sure it wasn't crowded with Danny and Detson.

Well, just to comment on the Orton face turn: I don't think it worked because Orton didn't have the experience to really connect with the fans. He tried to immediately ingratiate himself, and it didn't sell because the attitude wasn't really genuine. Even now, as a face, Orton is still kind of a dick... he's not really endearing himself any further to the fans and that's what works for him. The thing is that even the casual fan can usually tell when smoke is being pumped up their rears and it doesn't really come off well.

No one really bought the Lex Express, either.

well, on the flipside:

Who are the EASIEST turns? Of course Fontana, as he's still in progress.

Agreed. Orton went from biggest asshole on the planet who could actually back up his bullshit to Mr. Smiling Babyface, who hung out with Maven and did a promo about HHH looking like a gorilla, complete with gorilla face!

Maybe if he gave off any kind of likeable quality at any point in time, but even on a good day Orton gives off a huge jerkoff vibe. He cannot pull off the qualities of likeable and easy to relate to. Also, he really needs to hit the juice again. With all the tats and that skinny frame, he looks like an AIDS junkie from San Francisco.

disagree on hitting the juice, if only from a health perspective. I'd rather have him a little skinny and tatted up (the tattoos don't really look that good) then to have him hulking and dying from an exploding heart later in life. I'm not a big Orton fan, either... there are a lot of other guys I find much more entertaining to watch in the ring.

Oh, and as for who I think are the easiest turns:

From Face to heel, that would be:

Sinister

Hartt

From Heel to Face:

Spectre (I'm not even kidding)

Weaver.
