I didn't give CohB a lot of direction on the Damage piece ... I was waiting for Moze to get me the piece a bit past he started writing the match.

So CohB made things look a lot better then he could have for sure!

I'm such a complete flip-flopper that listening to the 'cast, I was all "yeah... a brawl to the back Quarter-mind style would have been better"!

Then I read COB's thoughts... and I agree that I couldn't see HvD brawling away from his title. If the MD/HVD brawl lasted too long, it would have given enough time for guys like Derek Weaver and/or Gibson Hayes to intervene in their stablemate's favour.

Anyways, not all is doomed, so long as HvD can get some revenge... and Craven sells it well.

I agree ... The next step in the angle could make this very interesting.

Damn! I really liked the idea of pronouncing it like Corn on the Cob-ee-wann.

Please, just call me what everyone else does. "Your Royal Sex Machine."

Sorry, Moze and Your Royal Sex Machine...

Having read about how the match came down, it's become apparent to me that it was a case where COB was making the best out of a difficult situation to write out of. And I agree- It really doesn't make a lot of sense to have HvD get lured away from a title. I suppose what got me was the way it completely nullified HvD in the match regardless. Just thought maybe a middle ground coulda been reached. Don't get me wrong though- your match was still awesome as fuck.

I just hope none of you were offended too much by my tendency toward knee-jerk reaction.

And Flouze is hit it pretty good. None of the above is unmanageable. One good HvD vengeance beating, and this ship can be righted.

Also, expect some references to The Golden Age next cast... done exclusively in my Mason voice :P

Only if you either:

a) remove the vaguely German-sounding accent
or
b) make the vaguely German-sounding accent much thicker

I will say that I didn't strat to do anything facish with Black (though COB did ask "What would Jacob do in this situation?" a couple of times while he was writing). I'll also say I was surprised and humbled to have Black win the American title especially since I prefaced my strat with "While Black's ego is big enough to think he can win everything, I as handler don't expect to be winning either belt..."
And here's where I pretend to be a writer...

One way to do the Craven-HvD continued fight would be to make so Damage kept coming at him. Herscher manages to nut shot or something and Damage grabs hold of his leg. But it is easy to point things out in hindsight or when you are not involved in the process or not in the midst of massive match writing.

When I was playing competitive state tournament level chess I would always watch games and go: oh man, he should have pressed the right flank. Then I remembered that you can't see the board from above and are stuck with your vantage point from behind your King's ass.

Also - Moze gets a rare apology from me for thinking he was responsible for this incident. You can frame it!
Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

As far as the theme music for Lineage goes: I believe that Limp Bizkit is a good fit for a poser wannabe like Randall, especially the Gold Cobra song. It's not a good song but it doesn't have to be. I remember that I had given my Natural Born Annihilators team back in the day the Spice Girls Pepsi song (Generation Next?) just to add to the annoying dork image of Tommy Verhoeven.

Also, I had to look up Krautrock on Wikipedia and am mostly unfamiliar with most of the bands (with the execption of Kraftwerk). At least in my area it is a forgotten niche that is DWARVED by the popularity of "Neue Deutsche Welle".

Ok...after listening to the whole two hour shebang...

1. The "O" in "COB" is pronounced like "Oh." "Cohb."

2. More Earth-2 and "Kingdom Come" references, please!

3. HVD and Craven...here's what happened. My instructions from Brian were "Damage takes HVD out." And that was it.

My philosophy on multi-man matches is to do my best not to let them turn into fusterclucks AND focus on the men in the match. I wasn't personally a fan of the Mercenary OR Craven interfering...which is why I made sure they happened quickly and decisively, like surgical strikes.

I figured "ok...if Damage takes out HVD in a major way, HVD has two shows to get revenge before Shattered Dreams, has a major beef since Damage cost him the American title, AND it takes out one of the men and only leaves me with six to write for the train wreck finish."

Hence, the quick takedown of HVD. That was my call, and aside from Damage's entrance, I wrote everything else off of Brian's instructions.

In retrospect, yeah, a massive brawl between HVD and Damage would have made a bit of sense...but I couldn't come to terms with the idea of HVD brawling away from the ring and his title belt...and, to be honest (sorry, Moze), I am NOT a fan of Major Damage, so the quicker he was gone, the better.

I definitely didn't mean to "bury" HVD and apologize if it came off that way. The handler apparently loved the match, however, so I'll take that. :)

But Picky and his bi-sexual partner's observations were right on the money, and I'll take the blame for this one!

Eh, to each his own. I've been reeling in the last few months since, after some months of getting nothing but praise (which I feed on) I'm hearing mostly criticism. So yeah, makes it harder to write and certainly hard to be confident in the writing before, during and after it's done.

I am a little perplexed ... I was instructed to write Damage running in and I _did_ write it and send it to the PVW addy ... Hrm...

You tend to think I'm responsible for a lot of things that I'm not. You and a few other people in the past year. It's okay though. I'd rather be controversial than ignored. :)
