Since we have an In Progress thread and a post-show thread, I thought I'd start up a preview thread too.

Pretty stacked lineup this week. Anyone have a match they're particularly looking forward to?

Rex vs. Travis. Bring it.
Cole Hamels Fact #1685: The Devil went down to Georgia because he knew if he went to Philadelphia, Cole would strike his ass out.

Okay, so Andy's going to do our PCW Title match. Bob's got Cooper/Weaver. Mike's got Mayhem/???. I'm going to take the Battle Royal and the LH Title match at least. I'd love to see someone take AT LEAST one of the others.

So, come on... who's up for some Preston/Marley action or some wild tag brawlin' between the Bishops and VU?

You've read my matchwriting. If it's not a problem for you, I'll take VU/Bishops.

I contemplated VU/Bishops, but I'm actually a little intimidated by how well Blue knows VU, and I feel like since I haven't read every one of their matches with a fine tooth comb, I wouldn't do it justice.

Now, Rex vs. Lynch is a little bit more free form.

Pffft... Big Man No Hand topes and springboard planchas galore, duh!

AND Blue knows I skim about 50% of every AWA card!

ALSO, people are not using this thread for what was intended: commenting on the lineup, predictions, match you're looking forward to and the like. Come on, folks!

I actually thought about putting my hand up for Rex vs Lynch, but wisely chickened out! It would have had far too many Michael Cole homages.

GM: And the Apex Champion is taking Travis Lynch to a place he's never been before!

BW: Yeah, the women's bathroom!

Since no one else will go, I will!

I think the two matches I'm looking forward to the most are...

VU/Bishops
Violence Unlimited has been THE TEAM in the AWA for several months now - you might even argue that they were THE TEAM even when RNR were still the tag champs and I'd wager that even after losing the titles, some would still say they are THE TEAM in the AWA. And then there's the Bishops. The total ass-kicking take no prisoner team BEFORE VU came along. It's been a long time since the Bishops have squared off with a top level tag team so I want to see what happens when these two big, brawling teams throw down with one another.

Lynch/Summers
It's Travis' final shot to avenge his family honor and Sexy Rexy is as annoying and dickish as he's ever been. With no DQ, no count out, and Big Jim sitting at ringside to keep Buddy Morton in check, the odds seem slanted in Travis' favor of finally achieving his goals. But to date, Rex Summers always seems to have a plan. Is this the night that his luck runs out?

I'm also curious to see what happens on the Money Pit when Supernova and Craven come head to head. I think that feud has the potential to be something really awesome so let's see where Moze and Bob run with it.

I've already resigned myself to the fact Danny Morton will bleed no less than 4 pints of blood on this card.

Predictions! So you all know what won't be happening on the show!

Money Pit with Supernova & William Craven

Uh...some evil stuff will go down?

Open Invitational Battle Royal
TALENT SIGNED TO COMPETE:  MAMMOTH Mizusawa, The Rave, Col. PW de Klerk, The Hive, Sweet Daddy Williams, Kolya Sudakov, BC Da Mastah MC, The Antons, Alphonse Green, Bruno Verhoeven, Pedro Perez, Skywalker Jones

It's MAMMOTH versus the world. World loses.

BigPoppaBuyrate,Feb 20 2012

Yuma Weaver vs Dave Cooper

Dave Cooper goes over strong, Yuma Weaver leaves bloody and on a stretcher.

BigPoppaBuyrate,Feb 20 2012
05:53 AM
Scotty Mayhem vs Casanova's Choice

No idea...maybe a chance to introduce a Make 'em Take 'em guy like Jack Marshall? Regardless, Scotty gets the win and more tension is introduced (until Scotty releases his tension with Big Mama later that night...ahem...)

BigPoppaBuyrate,Feb 20 2012
05:53 AM
Eric Preston vs Rick Marley

To be honest, I haven't followed this rivalry as closely as I should. I assume Preston goes over, but that's not an informed opinion at all.

BigPoppaBuyrate,Feb 20 2012
05:53 AM
Violence Unlimited vs The Bishop Boys

Way too early for a finish in this match. Probably lots of serious brawling leading to a double countout...and Gordon points out that the same can NOT happen in the next match.

BigPoppaBuyrate,Feb 20 2012
05:53 AM
No Countout, No DQ for the PCW World Title - Rex Summers vs Travis Lynch

TRIPLE TURN~~! After throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Rex Summers, Travis Lynch just can't finish the job. So he calls...Jim Watkins??...to help him out, as the two double team beatdown Summers to finally give Travis his title. Travis goes on to become the bratty Owen Hart character, and Watkins justifies as saying that helping a Lynch win a title in Texas "is just the right thing to do for business"

BigPoppaBuyrate,Feb 20 2012
05:53 AM
Longhorn Heritage Title Match - Robert Donovan vs MAMMOTH

MAMMOTH is on the verge of winning the title when he gets screwed by Louie Matsui, finally solidifying MAMMOTH's face turn, as he and Donovan take turns beating him up for the feel-good finish of the show.

No Countout, No DQ for the PCW World Title - Rex Summers vs Travis Lynch

- With all the bragging Rex has been doing about being the "REAL" World champion I don't see him losing here. Rex will win by trickery setting up a possible Rex Summers v.s AWA National Champion Calisto D down the road.

Eric Preston vs Rick Marley

- I'll go with Preston here.

Violence Unlimited vs The Bishop Boys

- I have a feeling we will be seeing another tag team come down and make a point. Maybe the Aces? [No Contest]

Yuma Weaver vs Dave Cooper

- Cooper goes over.

Scotty Mayhem vs Casanova's Choice

- This is mine, so I can't say nothing....

Open Invitational Battle Royal
TALENT SIGNED TO COMPETE: MAMMOTH Mizusawa, The Rave, Col. PW de Klerk, The Hive, Sweet Daddy Williams, Kolya Sudakov, BC Da Mastah MC, The Antons, Alphonse Green, Bruno Verhoeven, Pedro Perez, Skywalker Jones.

- Mammoth is a solid choice as he does need some momentum. however I'm really digging Alphonse Green right now and wouldn't mind him getting the shot.

Longhorn Heritage Title Match - Robert Donovan vs Alphonse Green

- Donovan seems intent on taking the National title... could this distract him from his defense? I say YES! In a big upset Green takes the title leaving Donovan to pursue the title he wants the most.

Money Pit with Supernova & William Craven

- This storyline has money written all over it. I'm very interested in seeing what goes down here. I'm thinking there is a little banter, a little chest puffing and then Craven chews off SuperNova's finger!! (Well maybe not THAT extreme... but I'm thinking a good ole fashion brawl!)

Winner: THE FANS
