Pedro Perez is a dolphin?

Why don't I understand this?

Glad to hear people enjoyed the Hive's interaction with Mr. Mensa. Here's an interesting story about that...

A few days before the show really got underway, I wrote Joe and Jer and told them that I was "probably" going to do The Hive vs The Rave but that they didn't need to do it anything for it.

I had three reasons why I wanted to do the match:

1) I felt the show had no Main Event and needed one.
2) I got this idea of The Hive cutting a promo by only buzzing in my head and wanted to do it.
3) I really like the spot of one bee sitting on a Rave's shoulder and a pump kick leading to a spiking reverse rana.

Just as easy as that.

Once I started thinking about The Hive promo, I decided the promo idea was funnier in my head since them just buzzing was a one-note joke. Therefore, I decided that they needed translation. I originally was going to do subtitles but didn't think it had the comedic punch I was looking for.

Enter Mr. Mensa who OF COURSE would be smart enough to understand them... or so he says.

I don't think that's the end of that angle yet either.

As a fed head, I'm a firm believer that sometimes you just have to run angles that you really like even if you think no one else will like them. This was my latest.

As a handler, I've been running angles that entertained absolutely _nobody else_ since 1996, so go for it!

And to your surprise, it was a bit hit. Everyone wins!

'tis true

Would love to hear what everyone thought of the rest of the show too. I agree with John. Some of my favorite AWA shows are the "smaller" shows that allow some of the other guys the spotlight.

This show was a little closer to what I had originally intended SNW to be. Squashes, a couple of big matches, promos. It just has a much lighter feel to it. Plus, it was a heck of a lot shorter than recent weeks. Fun stuff.

I agree that this was a fun little show. In addition to the Rave/Have/Imbriwhatever goodness (that really makes me wonder what The Hive's backstory is...we might need to get Hayao Miyazaki to write it) the setup for Travis Lynch vs Bruno Verhoeven was a nice little surprise. It's not advertised as a title match, so I guess the PCW title is now officially retired? A Cooper/Weaver strap match is also intriguing. I'm not sure that a handled wrestler has ever fought a JTTS in a specialty match...let alone the JTTS's own specialty match.

It did seem a bit unusual to go with such a light card for the go-home show, but the arena damage certainly covered for it, so it works as a one-off.
