To be fair, the issue goes way beyond this podcast. I said to myself the next time I see it, I am going to bring it up because it has been bothering me for a long while and so it just so happened to be here.

I agree with what Kyle said regarding it coming off as venomous and disrespectful. I think that is why it bothers me so. And I know for a fact that despite the"thick skin" that you depend on, it does indeed bother Mike. As I said before, I am not alone on this.

From previously speaking with Mike, one thing I think that might go a long way would be the timing of the offers of help. It's one thing to offer to write a match after a show is already a month late, but a whole other thing to offer the moment the update gets put out. Or the act of getting your stuff in on time. I imagine it is hard to build momentum to put out a show when you're waiting on segments that are past due.

I'm very guilty of:

1) Not writting matches
2) Not offering to write matches
3) Not being on time

I used to be more on time and then I changed jobs, the recession hit, and well you get the idea. It's not a good or great excuse but it's the truth.

On number two, I will admit it's somewhat of my own doing. A long time ago, I used to write matches or offer. I either got low card matches, saw my stuff edited a ton, or just told "nope, not needed".

So talked myself into that I wasn't very good at it. So stopped asking and stopped writting matches because well I knew there were others who could do a better job.

I stopped caring when UWF comes out and only that it indeed comes out. We're not in our teens and 20s anymore when time was so readily available for any of us.

As I've joked before, I expect in 20-30 years there to be a revival as we're all sitting around retired with plenty of time on our hands again. :)
