Having "minor quibbles" with Merc/Dawson is one thing.  Going out of your way to rip apart the whole thing is dumb.  THIS IS JUST A GAME!  I'M SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE RIPPING APART MATCHES WHEN THOSE SAME PEOPLE DON'T WRITE MATCHES.

I've already emailed Brian and Rob to tell them not to bother with Legacy in PVW any further.  I'm done with e-wrestling for good.  Way to ruin a fun hobby, folks.

Hook, line and sinker. I was already preparing my Matt Tiegs jokes. Kudos Roger.

On another note... I fully expect everyone to now refer to "Da Cow God" Moo as "Da Moo Cow" until the end of time. Rob gets no public acceptance of his apology, regardless of the contents of our private conversation.

As punishment for his crimes, I am hereby subjecting you all to an in-depth discussion on the World Series potential for the Indians, Cubs, Marlins and Pirates.

Oh wait...
Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest.

All four of those teams have a chance to make the World Series this year. Well, the Little League World Series at least...

And I got the Cubs losing to Taiwan there.

If you were offended by the Merc/AE/Marshall thing, maybe you need to lighten up a little bit.

And if you think there was more to it than Merc dumping her in a trashcan, then you have deeper issues than we should be addressing here :P

Actually, I have a theory now.

Originally, it was booked that Jessica would just run away.

But then she started corpsing so they had to SEND FOR THE MAN.

I've decided if enough handlers post their thoughts on the show ... I too will give my thoughts and some insider POV on why some things were on the show.

I have done the following review, me doing a review in and of itself should force Bell to do the same.

- T7 Opening
It was an opening, nice, got the job done.

- One on One Match: The Mercenary v. Heath Dawson
I have varying thoughts on this. If Extreme is back and helping Merc take out rookies then I really like it. If Extreme came back just to write off JFM then… eh. But I think the match was really good in the fact that it gets over Merc, he gets rid of Marshall, and he gets to use a “new guy” as a pawn for his little stunt. So Merc gets a whole lot accomplished in one match and Dawson gets over win A) the win and B) his ending beatdown on Merc and the “pin”. Plus it can continue and/or end the feud.

I don’t know that this should have started the show that would be my only complaint. Hudson and Biz was thrown in there at the end maybe start the show with that or the six man to give Frank extra rest time.

- Tracy Hudson & The Biz backstage
Furthered things along.

- Gold Rush & Marcus Manson backstage
Furthered things along and set up for the end of their match.

- Six Man Match: Marcus Manson & Gold Rush v. Uncle Frank & Lineage
This match did everything it was suppose to, I think. Well in my mind it did. Vermeer is a coward, Kruger is a machine, Frank is crazy, Manson is hell bent on vengeance and Gold Rush is a promising team with a lot of potential. I like the Manson character even though sometimes the rps can come off as a little flat. He’s a blinders on type of character that gets something in his head and then it’s a straight line for it regardless of the cost or consequence. Not getting the win and taking it or contemplating taking it out on his team, one who’s a long time friend, furthers that.

- Japanese Superstar spotted in crowd spot
Missed it the first time. But nothing’s coming from it and Bri is doing Jer a favor so I guess all well that ends well.

- Cow and Chicken backstage
Yup. Furthered things along? I really have nothing to add to most backstage stuff.

- One on One Match: Tracy Hudson v The Biz
Made both characters stronger moving further. Although Hudson might have been better served in the later 6 man then here but it was a really good match. The roster is loaded and Biz is doing stuff to get noticed so that’s good. Maybe there should have been more conflict in this match instead of straight Dragon Kid, even though he hit one of Biz’ moves. More conflict perhaps fighting the personalities if that is in fact what he’s doing. I guess if he’s not going for a multiple persona type thing it doesn’t matter.

- Lights Flicker - Message Spot
That message: PAY YOUR ELECTRIC BILL!

- Shattered Dreams, Tag Team Title Announcement involving the Berserkers and Max and Sal
Now with 100% more forced tension and dissent.

- Dean Hayes trying to get a word with HOPE backstage
Did he try knocking?

- Fatal Four Tag Team Match: Cow and Chicken v. Legacy v. Sons of Anarchy v. The Heat
Great stuff all teams had their highs and lows. I was surprised that Legacy got the win. Not that they didn’t deserve it, I just thought they’d be a little lost or not completely “in” the match. Right team lost although I swore I saw a foot on the ropes.

- Rob Cole backstage
Furthered things along. Stating his desires and setting up that you can’t always get what you want.

- The Mercenary & JFM backstage spot
Didn’t have a problem with it I thought the TV edit was funny and just thought it was a funny spot where Merc picked her up and threw her in the garbage. It’s not real its scripted people and no borderline stripper slash intellectuals were hurt in the making of this segment.

- One on One Match: Brian Young v. Rob Cole
Ok great match in the terms of the feud it got everything accomplished. But Brian Young is trying too hard to be a heel WAY too hard. I don’t think Rob Cole is trying to be anything but Rob Cole, face heel whatever just it is what it is. Rob Cole pulled a dick move on Young, used his own wheel chair to beat him, its Cole’s fault he never got the “match he always wanted” Cole accepted that but Young is trying way too hard to get the reaction he seems to “need” from the crowd.

I mean I get it that Young doesn’t want to give Cole ANYTHING that he wants after the crap that got pulled on him and I thought the ending was perfect. But the flash on Showcase and the beginning of the match it was less about Cole and more about “Hey fans remember I’m the bad guy boo me, not him the guy that crippled me, but me, because FU, and you’re dumb and look at what a dick I am!”
I don’t know I just figured that it were me and the guy that crippled me was within my grasp I would care less about the fans and more about the man I could destroy. Focus on Cole, go after Cole, make it a garbage match when the guy wants a five star classic, and then at the end walk out. Therefore it would focus on Cole and less on the fans.

- Chase Williams and Larry Gionet confrontation backstage
Seemed forced didn’t seem to flow. Continues them down the path towards their eventual match.

- Perry Fontana and Sinister backstage
Was this needed? I don’t know. I wish Sinister would talk to the camera and monologue about his thoughts every once and awhile. Faces don’t trust Perry, Perry doesn’t care.

- One on One Match: Derek Weaver v. Perry Fontana
Great match one of my favs on the card. Another spot where Fontana does something that’s never been done before. But it wasn’t a finisher and it was an old “MMA move” from the past that’s no one’s gotten up from so I can forgive it. But the give and take and the chemistry between the two made for a classic match.

- Senor Cloak Dos backstage
He’s a man damnit!

- Adrian Freeman and Supreme Wright backstage
He’s less of a man but he really wants that match. Great feud.

- Six Man Match: Danny Daniels, Talion, & Kevin Quartermann v. Chance Holiday, Nevermind, & Whisper
EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE ON THE CARD!!! Lol Like I said above maybe Hudson instead of Whisper and have Whisper against the Biz. Whisper was thrown in here because of dumb reasoning but hey it was Daniels (I still voted for Jesse Jackson). I think I know who Talion is, but in saying that I probably have no idea who Talion is. I don’t really understand where Holiday Daniels is going but it’s relatively new so I’ll give it time to develop. Going forward I think the only person to suffer from this is Whisper, everybody got to develop something: Talion: continuing redemption angle; Nevermind and Quarterman; Daniels and Holiday; and Whisper are left to do the good guy on a heel team role. Scramble match on the pre show for you Whisper!!

Book Whisper vs. Wright have Wright drop the belt to him after Freeman interferes, then have the people come to him to get him going in the feud and give him something for Shattered Dreams.

- Chris Hartt backstage
20% less anger 20% more passion, yes they are exclusive of 1 another.

- One on One Rebirth Rules Match: Sinister v. Spectre Ref: SCD
Brutal, brutal match, which is exactly what it needed to be. Pencil spot was ouch, but if the guy in Happy Gilmore could live which a nail in his head I don’t see how the pencil spot was improbable because Hollywood is nothing if it is not full of realism. For a story sense the right person went over and I’m interested in seeing how things develop and go from here. Interesting note everyone keeps preparing for this battle with HOPE but it’s been months and no one’s actually GONE AFTER HOPE.

- Post Match, Mystery Message and announcement
I’m #2, I’m #2!! Wait what do you mean that has a double meaning?!

- PVW’s 2nd DVD Shill...
$19.99 with 13.99 s&h also gets you free Caleb Foley tee shirt

- The Shattered Dreams Contract Sighing with Johnny Detson and Gibson Hayes
Ug. Glad people liked the 2 out of 3 falls. To me it really does seem to fit what this match should be. I won’t bore people with details that’s Picky’s job.

- Double Title Match: Herscher von Donkerhardt v. Uncle Frank v. Chris Hartt v. Christopher Black v. Adrian Freeman v. Supreme Wright v. Erich Seiger

Long….. After thinking about it, Weaver and Fontana was my favorite match of the card because my eyes/brains won’t explode after reading. It was extremely good though. Like the four way tag everyone had their highs and lows. I’ll keep some comments to myself and its nothing on the match itself which was awesome.
Putting my booking cap on I would have had HvD retain and Seiger the TV title. Black doesn’t need the American Title nor Wright the TV title, both have feuds and are well off. In the case of Wright Freeman, a borderline feud of the cycle going on. Black doesn’t need a title to be what he is and Hartt doesn’t need to be now going after the American Title again.
The Major Damage stuff was… yeah… so Damage picked that spot to come out, well that was random. What if Frank and HvD had earlier agreed to work together, HvD taps to a finger hold by Frank and then climbs to get the title. That’s when he should have come out. And then HvD could later be in the match but now you have HvD incapacitated for a ton of time, knocked unconscious, EMTs, smelling salts, comes to, can’t get back there, and loses the title. But Craven can’t sell a neck injury for five minutes after a massive HOPE beatdown? I get it its Craven, he can’t feel pain and is emotionally unbalanced… I get it. But still…

HvD remains strong because hey, never pinned for a title, and it takes six others plus a run in from the seventh to finally wrestle that title away from him.

Seiger doesn’t have a direction which is why a title would suit him and let him face a scramble winner during the PPV, which is why it makes sense for Whisper to win the title now too in my little booking world.

And then in saying that I realize the Rumble is coming up and therefore not needed to have something to do, but still I stand behind my theory.

But yeah awesome card. Awesome length, first time it took me two days to read any card, and awesome pushing things forward to SD.

I won't comment about the flashes but here are my $0.11 on the matches:

- One on One Match: The Mercenary v. Heath Dawson

* Ironically, following the match it seems to me that the best thing that could happen to Dawson is for him to get a manager. In storyline terms, he's getting overwhelmed by the sneaky veterans. The next logical step might be for Dawson to hire Fatality as his manager and continue his feud with Mercenary. Or if not Fatality, then some manager

- Six Man Match: Marcus Manson & Gold Rush v. Uncle Frank & Lineage

* Excellent match- really liking both Gold Rush and Lineage as tag teams. The Manson-Reneigh bit at the end makes sense- Manson unhappy at Wilson costing the match, Reneigh defending his partner. I don't know if there will be a followup, but it's a good starting point to transition Manson away from Frank.

- One on One Match: Tracy Hudson v The Biz

* Good match- but both wrestlers have been acting randomly, both in the backstage bit and during this match

- Fatal Four Tag Team Match: Cow and Chicken v. Legacy v. Sons of Anarchy v. The Heat

* There are far too many good tag teams here. As one-half of the champs, I protest this threat to the Max and Sal reign..

- One on One Match: Brian Young v. Rob Cole

* I'm wondering if this would have been a stronger storyline had they bypassed the mystery man angle and gone directly to this part of the storyline. Cole is thinking of retiring and wants one epic match to make his son proud of him, Young volunteers to come of retirement to give him that match, then pulls this finish as revenge on Cole. It's a neat twist- how do you make someone try their hardest to fight you, when they know that's exactly what you want?

* And I wasn't sure if Bell could pull off the heel role, but the arrogant showoff is a great contrast to Cole. Nice work, and I want to see where this goes from here

- One on One Match: Derek Weaver v. Perry Fontana

* The Rebirth and Ladder matches were more violent... but this felt like the STIFFEST match on the card. It's a good change of pace compared to the rest of the card.

* The next logical step in the feud (if it continues) is to head to an "I quit" match, since Perry didn't submit.

- Six Man Match: Danny Daniels, Talion, & Kevin Quartermann v. Chance Holiday, Nevermind, & Whisper

* Muddled chaos- but a good pace-changer after the last match

- One on One Rebirth Rules Match: Sinister v. Spectre Ref: SCD

* I'm not a fan of hardcore matches, because it always seems like a case of "weapon spot, followed by another weapon spot, followed by another weapon spot". But because PVW does them so rarely, it stands out when one is done.

* I liked Senor Dos Cloak's promo beforehand. I can see him feeling like he's being treated like a child, and will be curious to see how this is followed up.

- The Shattered Dreams Contract Sighing with Johnny Detson and Gibson Hayes

* I am surprised that Detson didn't counter Gibson's offer for a 2/3 falls match by insisting that all of HOPE be barred from ringside. Part of Detson's appeal is that he's wily enough to come up with a counter for HOPE's cheating in a way that most faces wouldn't. I don't think Detson would allow the other members of HOPE to be at ringside for Hayes- he should have something planned to counter that ploy.

(one reason I like "sneaky heel vs. sneaky heel" feuds- I want to see them cheat, counter-cheat, and counter-counter-cheat.)

- Double Title Match: Herscher von Donkerhardt v. Uncle Frank v. Chris Hartt v. Christopher Black v. Adrian Freeman v. Supreme Wright v. Erich Seiger

* To quote a WWE soon-to-be Hall of Famer... "DAMN!"

* I understand the complaint about the length- but with this many people, COB was able to have every combination of people fighting and a ton of spots.

* Everyone came across looking good, IMHO, and had moments to impress the fans. It's furthered the Black/Hartt feud, the Freeman/Wright feud, both members of HOPE are upset about losing their titles, and Seiger comes across as both a monster and an obvious target.

Yes, and the only answer I have for that is it was just done literally in the AsH vs. Hayes match so if Detson wants that done he's going to have to find another way to do it.

- T7 Opening

So I wanted to keep the opening a little on the smaller side. I tried to do a Celebration opening ... a toss back to PVW matches and wrestlers in the past. Short and sweet and it allowed me to leap right into things.

- One on One Match: The Mercenary v. Heath Dawson

So it's always nice to get the controversy out of the way eh? :) I know this has been the hot topic so far. Did things come out "perfect" ... no. Do I think Roger made the best of a tough finish / strats sent in ... I do.

I think we have some post match stuff to clean up over the next few shows, but I thought it was a solid match. A bit short, but in a show like this there was plenty of long matches to make up for it.

Dawson had to get some heat back ... Merc up to this point has pretty much owned the heat department between the two.

- Tracy Hudson & The Biz backstage

I liked the build up for a match that has now been built to be pretty anticipated. Biz has finally brought quite a bit of attention to himself and I think Hudson fits in as wacky veteran in the situation.

- Gold Rush & Marcus Manson backstage

I like when I can do prematches right before their match. It makes placing them on the card a lot easier!

- Six Man Match: Marcus Manson & Gold Rush v. Uncle Frank & Lineage

I wrote this match ... I had some great material to work with from all three handlers. Fun spots ... fun ideas ... It was an easy match to write. I am really high on both Lineage and Gold Rush. Uncle Frank and Manson have had one of the better feuds this cycle.

I wanted to give them a showcase that put a lot of spotlight on them.

- Japanese Superstar spotted in crowd spot

I was glad to do Jer the favor. Though he is a tease!

- Cow and Chicken backstage

Silly humor that worked!

- One on One Match: Tracy Hudson v The Biz

Good work rate match. I thought it added to the story. I thought DK needed a win here ... and it would upset the stiff hard nosed veteran more to add with his confusion.

I think it's obvious it's not the end of things here and it continues to keep interest on where things go. I think Tracy and Shaun are working really hard to get noticed and fit into things.

- Lights Flicker - Message Spot

We really do need to pay our light bill! Nope, not going to say much here, sorry.

- Shattered Dreams, Tag Team Title Announcement involving the Berserkers and Max and Sal

Face vs Face feuds can be tough ... And the Berserkers have been talking up until this point about respect. So finally there is some emotion and some heat between the two teams. There is still a handful of shows to reach the boiling point. I thought it worked and accomplished the goals.

- Dean Hayes trying to get a word with HOPE backstage

It was something I tossed in to assist with the flow of the show. I think it helped hype what is later with HOPE in the show in a small way. It was a pretty pointless segment.

- Fatal Four Tag Team Match: Cow and Chicken v. Legacy v. Sons of Anarchy v. The Heat

Ha, let's not go into Rob's typos on Cow and Chicken ... It happens and it's no big deal. It was chaotic and it showcased a really darn good tag team division right now. I know we could find a way to make sense of any of the four teams winning ... I do think Legacy was the right choice here.

- Rob Cole backstage

Perfect Oncard for the angle at hand. I have had Mark/Cole in my leagues since 1997 / AWMC. Mark can sell a match like no other ... I know the oncard worked for me.

- The Mercenary & JFM backstage spot

OMG ... RAH !!!

Okay, all sillyness aside ... It was a spot sent in from Trev that I tossed together from his notes. When I wrote it ... I didn't intend things to come across as JFM was assaulted so deadly.

Those who want to take it that way ... I do apologize. I don't have female division's in my league because I don't enjoy writing violence on women. I think it's pretty obvious from 4 years in PVW it's happened VERY rarely.

Merc's cut away for thirty seconds was taking a dig about just that. I think more is being made of this then needs to be ... I know more is being made of this then I ever imagined.

- One on One Match: Brian Young v. Rob Cole

Great angle work here ... Cole wants that five star classic something he can end his career on ... Young steals it from him just like Cole stole two years of his career.

It further adds to Young's heel heat.

It also adds question to where Cole is headed from here in the PVW. Will he return to get that five star classic?

- Chase Williams and Larry Gionet confrontation backstage

Okay, I had emailed the guys ahead of time with my concerns that it turned into a pissing contest and it came across like the two men were trying to out heel each other.

I sadly think things took a step back here. We have time to get it back on track though.

- Perry Fontana and Sinister backstage

Good prematch segment ... I like Sinister playing the veteran voice of reason and it worked with Fontana before heading into a big match.

- One on One Match: Derek Weaver v. Perry Fontana

Wowza ... One of the best matches of the show! Stiff hard nosed match between two tough as nails workers. I liked the back and forth and how it looked to be personal between the two.

I liked the flow at the ending and Fontana refusing to tap out then selling the brutal effects of it.

It's going to be a tough match to live up to when they face again. However, so much ground work was laid with this match.

- Senor Cloak Dos backstage

A much needed SCD backstage to stand up for himself.

- Adrian Freeman and Supreme Wright backstage

Set the tone for later in the Main Event. I am really diggin this angle. The two handlers have been just great!

- Six Man Match: Danny Daniels, Talion, & Kevin Quartermann v. Chance Holiday, Nevermind, & Whisper

A tough match for sure to write and RP/strat for. However, Jerod did a great job. I do think Whisper sadly got a little lost in the shuffle out of the six men ... However, I think it also gave me some ideas on what to do with him heading into the final few shows.

Quartermann-Nevermind stuff worked great.

DD-Chance continues to be fun.

Talion and Whisper have fun movesets and showed what they CAN be.

- Chris Hartt backstage

Hartt has been on a roll the last few promo's. I do agree he may of accidentally made the TV title look a little bleak, but that was my only complaint.

- One on One Rebirth Rules Match: Sinister v. Spectre Ref: SCD

Easily one of the most hardcore and brutal matches in PVW history. I know that's what Don and Dave were going for and Andy delivered. What made things even better for me and this match was listening to Dro's live review of it.

So funny!

Sinister looked strong ... Let's be honest not many people look strong in a match with Spectre in Rebirth Rules. Even if you win ... you lose.

In this match I almost felt the opposite, Sinister may of lost the match but he won in a lot of ways. That's how you know the match writer did an amazing job.

It moved things along in the angle and set things up for Shattered Dreams. SCD now has to stand alone ... Spectre get's to mess with him all he wants and Sinister has to stand by and watch it happen.

Sinister the locker room leader has to enter the Rumble at #1.

- Post Match, Mystery Message and announcement

Things are near closure with these mystery messages. Things will make sense in all due time. There were plenty of hints dropped.

- PVW’s 2nd DVD Shill...

I needed more space filler ... Turned out to be fun. :) It's always fun to talk about some of your favorite post matches.

- The Shattered Dreams Contract Sighing with Johnny Detson and Gibson Hayes

Ummm ... I know Contract Signings are cliche` ... However, I wanted these two on the show and I wanted them together in some sort of segment selling the PPV match.

I liked when we came up with that we didn't really need the contract signing sit down and could use it as a background prop to get what we wanted.

The 2/3 stipulations seemed to fit the situation perfectly and I think we have ourselves a great World Title match ahead.

- Double Title Match: Herscher von Donkerhardt v. Uncle Frank v. Chris Hartt v. Christopher Black v. Adrian Freeman v. Supreme Wright v. Erich Seiger

Wow ... What else can I say about this match. I had the honor in reading this as COB worked on it. So I didn't have to sit down and tackle the 160 match in one or two settings.

Like Jer ... COB is a master. I wish I had the skills to reach this type of epic Main Event and I am so glad he asked me to write this match.

He tackled every key point I asked him to. He made the best of a few bad situations.

In the end he went above and beyond selling what I had envisioned. All I can really say is Thank You ...

I wont go into anymore detail until I do my Shattered Dreams deal in fear to ruin anything people have planned and spoil things. In the end I felt that TVII was our best Tradition show by far. There wasn't a bad match on the show ... There was three DAMN good matches on the show and some other strong matches.

I think everyone benefited from the show even if there was 1-2 sour spots. Great job everybody!

The Moo Review

- T7 Opening

It was... an opening? I rarely get too deep into the openings, but I do admit this one got my attention more than the last few did. So some kudos there.

- One on One Match: The Mercenary v. Heath Dawson

Huh. Had the result I expected... did not have the path I expected to see towards that result. Really don't like Epstein (isn't he Extreme again?) appearing here though... I'm a fan of restarting a Merc/Epstein story, but not here. I would have rather seen Marshall disappear straight, then have Epstein reappear later to congratulate Merc on the plan. But that's semantics... I'll let those two guys sell me on the story. Match was technically OK, nothing amazing but I can imagine it was a bitch to write so the matchwriter in me gives it a few more points than the reader did.

- Tracy Hudson & The Biz backstage

No idea where this Biz thing is going. It could be awesome, it could totally suck. I do think Hudson is the right type of character to be the opponent here though, and I'm interested in the continuation of this. I do agree with Mike about the randomness of both characters though... I'd like to see things tightened up just a little bit to really make the story strong.

- Gold Rush & Marcus Manson backstage

Didn't accomplish a lot, but they get a pass because they sold the story really well coming into Tradition. I do agree with Doran about Regnigh being as good a character as Manson though... I've always liked Regnigh, even from the UEW days, but he's really coming across well as the cagey veteran.

- Six Man Match: Marcus Manson & Gold Rush v. Uncle Frank & Lineage

Excellent match. Did not like the end. On paper, it sounds like an excellent idea to have the rookie take the fall and cause dissension between friends. But how does the dissension really help either storyline? It doesn't add anything to Frank/Manson, and it would affect the makeup of Gold Rush too much to let a wedge be driven between them. On the other hand though, it doesn't hurt my interest in either of the feuds and all four entities came out strong, so for a placeholder in both feuds you can't ask for much more.

- Japanese Superstar spotted in crowd spot

Damn Jer, did the AWA finally run out of space for your mass of characters? ;)

- Cow and Chicken backstage

I hated this. I had a few plans for this, nothing ever came together... it was supposed to be more, but I admit I slacked on Tradition and everything got behind. This did nothing for C&C other than provide a chuckle or two. I'll make up for it.

- One on One Match: Tracy Hudson v The Biz

Definitely wanted to see more Biz/Kid conflict. I don't know if Biz making a straight change back to the Dragon Kid will be a success... I think there's more potential in a multiple personalities thing. I liked the Hudson overconfident at the end moment, I think that keeps Hudson strong and gives him something to work with. Really interested in seeing if the storyline between these two can live up to its potential.

- Lights Flicker - Message Spot

The fact that nobody mentioned Brian's obvious "M O" joke after the letter "N" popped up on screen makes me disappointed in each and every one of you.

- Shattered Dreams, Tag Team Title Announcement involving the Berserkers and Max and Sal

Great build by both teams, I might have liked it more than Hayes/Detson. The insinuations about Berserkers attacking Gutch and Max & Sal bringing in the ASLL teams... good stuff, added a real element of intrigue. As strong as the tag division has become, it's still weak on top while the newer teams are working their way up... there was a real feeling that the Berserkers were kind of challengers by default. This promo did a lot to change that, and made me care more about the match. Kudos everyone involved.

- Dean Hayes trying to get a word with HOPE backstage

I'll be honest... I didn't even see this the first readthrough. As a former fedhead, I don't envy Brian having to find space for all the promos on these shows... but this was a bad, bad placement for this. Right after the big tag team announcement, and right before the big tag team match. Another promo that didn't accomplish much, aside from maybe unifying HOPE just a little bit.

- Fatal Four Tag Team Match: Cow and Chicken v. Legacy v. Sons of Anarchy v. The Heat

Fun match. Another pain in the ass to write... for a guy who asks for writers, Brian sure doesn't treat his writers very well when he's making schedules. ;) All seriousness though, this did a great job of putting over all four teams fairly equally, which only strengthens the division as a whole. And the result was the correct one, both the winner and the team taking the fall. Didn't dazzle me, but was a fun read.

Oh, and Rob... Moo and Loco have now permanently renamed the tag team veep Michael Christopherson. :)

- Rob Cole backstage

Last match, huh? Yeah, I believe that. I get what he was trying for here though, and for a match that came together on short notice and probably didn't have the importance it should have had... this sold it fairly well. I cared more about the match after reading this than I did beforehand, which is the goal of a prematch promo like this.

- The Mercenary & JFM backstage spot

I... actually missed this the first time through. So in reading the comments about it, I thought I really missed something during the match, heh. That said... my biggest complaint here isn't the violence on women. It's the fact that this was totally, completely unnecessary. I saw the match. Jessica Marshall's contract is gone. The world rejoiced. So then, an hour later, we see she's still running from security? MAYBE if Epstein is going full heel, pinning the blame for the attack on him is a suitable way to start that path. But otherwise, this was totally unneeded and did nothing to strengthen Merc.

- One on One Match: Brian Young v. Rob Cole

Could not get into the bulk of the match at all. I usually like Mark's matchwriting, but this one didn't sell me at all. It was flatter than a hatred-filled match should be, and the psychology had some iffy spots for me. That said... the ending was perfect. Exactly the way to extend this story and rile up Cole, while getting Young over as a heel even further. I am certainly more interested in seeing this future "five-star" match between these two now than I was before.

- Chase Williams and Larry Gionet confrontation backstage

Gionet is alive? Well I'll be damned. Bell had this right-on... it seemed like two heels trying to out-heel each other. I didn't see the kind, gentle Chase Williams I saw in his two reintroduction promos, and I was always under the impression Gionet was facish as well. I'm glad to see a light fueled under Gionet's ass... but overall it was a bit disappointing. Still lots of time to change that though.

- Perry Fontana and Sinister backstage

One promo from Sin, and some brevity in it as well? Holy god, I knew he had it in him. And it was a good idea, as instead of focusing on the amount of writing from Sin it was easier to focus on the message OF the writing... which actually wasn't bad at all. The "lockerroom leader" thing came across well, the more facish Fontana came across well, both matches were sold... not bad gents. If Picky hates this, it's just cause he's a dick.

- One on One Match: Derek Weaver v. Perry Fontana

Wow. Excellent match. Truly great stuff here Flouze. And damn, did Weaver come out of this thing strong... deservedly so, but as I've said before Weaver is going to really quickly outgrow HOPE if he hasn't already. Fontana can afford a hit like this... and in reality, it probably helps his face turn. But Weaver needed to just beat the everloving crap out of somebody who mattered to get him to the next level... and this match did that.

- Senor Cloak Dos backstage

Decent face promo considering his situation tonight. Call it down the middle, but root for his friend. Nothing amazing, but sold the match well.

- Adrian Freeman and Supreme Wright backstage

Great stuff. This angle is really gaining steam, both guys are doing a great job in their roles. And the foretelling for what eventually happens is excellent. Really good stuff here.

- Six Man Match: Danny Daniels, Talion, & Kevin Quartermann v. Chance Holiday, Nevermind, & Whisper

I wrote this... and yeah, it was chaotic as heck. But it was a lot of fun. Good strats from most of the parties made it a bit easier. I think I wrapped up the ending a bit too quickly, and I do agree that Whisper kinda got the short end of the stick... but I tried to leave it in a place where he had room to grow from here, and I think Bell got what I was shooting for there. My biggest hope is that I left Daniels and Holiday in the right place for what they're going for without having to incorporate results they didn't plan on... we'll see as their story continues to build.

- Chris Hartt backstage

I do agree with Errol about passion and anger being different entities. It's a fine line to walk sometimes. That said... this is probably the best Hartt promo I've seen in awhile, and easily the best on-card from him. Jer's Keening comparison fit well.

- One on One Rebirth Rules Match: Sinister v. Spectre Ref: SCD

Holy god did Sinister need this. Yes, he lost... but no wrestler in PVW can honestly say they don't respect the hell out of Sinister for subjecting Spectre to that kind of punishment. Sin hasn't done a lot of wrestling lately... but after this match, he's still as credible a threat as he's ever been. Yes, the pencil spot was kinda stupid... but everything else was awesome. I'm not a huge hardcore nut, but I actually liked this even more than Fontana/Weaver.

- Post Match, Mystery Message and announcement

I agree on the odd timing. This would have been better if they'd played the post match a bit, brought out the EMTs... then had the mystery man interrupt just as Sinister was coming to. But the message was appropriate, and it sold Shattered Dreams... good promo, just not great timing. I heard Brian blames Stone.

- PVW’s 2nd DVD Shill...

You are such a whore Brian. That said, I now must own this DVD. But if it doesn't have Meatgrinder on it, I'm gonna want a refund.

- The Shattered Dreams Contract Sighing with Johnny Detson and Gibson Hayes

No broken contract signing table? Screw both of you for ruining my hopes and dreams. That said... 2 of 3 falls is an excellent stipulation, I cannot agree with that decision more. Excellent promowork, as you would expect from Picky and Errol at this point.

- Double Title Match: Herscher von Donkerhardt v. Uncle Frank v. Chris Hartt v. Christopher Black v. Adrian Freeman v. Supreme Wright v. Erich Seiger

"Holy shit." That was my exact words when I got about 60K through the match, then skimmed to the bottom to see how much longer I had to go and realized I wasn't even halfway through. This was way too long. I understand why it ended up that way... but translate that to TV, and this was easily a two-hour match all by itself.

That said... it was one of the more entertaining two hours of e-wrestling I've read in awhile. All 7 guys got great moments, and no one was really ignored or left out of the equation (though I do think Seiger got the shaft just a tiny bit towards the end). The right two guys ended up with the right two titles, though I do admit I'm surprised that HOPE was shut out completely. The hole in the cage was kinda cheesy, as was the Damage appearance (though it was necessary, that didn't make it any less cheesy)... but those are small nitpicks in what is otherwise thus far an early favorite for Match of the Year.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

Wow. An early candidate for Event of the Year, really. A legit MOTY candidate, two other contenders, no matches that were horrible, and solid promo work from a number of characters. This was a really, really interesting read... which you can tell by the number of people who finished this and reviewed it within 24 hours of release. It was almost too big for what it was supposed to be... a teaser for Shattered Dreams. Superb stuff across the board, and the matchwriters really stepped up... I was relatively happy with the match I wrote, but it might not even be in the top 5 matches of the card. A few silly moments here and there, but a really really good show.
Working on new characters you didn't see a decade ago. Honest.

I admit, I was not fully up on the rules of the match when I wrote the promo. I also sent it in just before I was alerted to the correct rules.

Still, my error and I'm sorry I forgot to write about the TV title and more about Black. I thought focusing on the entirety of the match vs. just my feud was called for here. I thought if I only focused on Black, that would have been wrong. I went too far in the other direction.

Sorry. :(

Funny thing is, I didn't completely understand the rules for the main event match, either.
