So who's what analogue in terms of real wrestler to PVW character?

I could see Vermeer in a sort of Honky Tonk Man role. At least eventually. Bitch heel champion who, by hook or by crook, retains his title over a long period of time much to the chagrin of the fans. You might say Gibson has this bit already, but Gibson seems more a Ric Flair to me than a Honky Tonk Man, what with HOPE as his Horsemen.

Oooh, I love these. Can we also add in the other wrestler in the fed who easily hits a certain note.

Uncle Frank initially struck me as a Pyscho Sid, but really, the more I'm reading him... the more he's like a more off-kilter Whalen Mercy. Who I always thought was pretty under-rated.

And I'm well on board the Gibson Hayes is a Flair/HTM amalgam.

Christopher Black is so damn devious he hits the Jake the Snake feel occasionally, which is one of the best compliments I can give Katie and the character.

I'm interested to see who people think Weaver is, as I have no damn idea and purposely made him to be unlike a lot of the pro-wrestling archetypes.

Weaver kind of reminds me of Ken Shamrock or the no-nonsense Chris Benoit.

In that he's someone you're afraid to face, someone who can hurt you, and wrestling him is a painful experience even if you DO manage to come out on top. I think he's better on the mic than either of those two, but as far as fulfilling previous roles those are the best examples I could come up with.

I based my character off a number of inspirations, but I'll probably be labelled a "Mankind" rip-off (I actually made the character a few months before Mankind debuted, but it didn't stop me from ripping off some early character attributes when I saw stuff working).

Along with the heavy influence from Mick Foley, I also found inspiration in a lot of the 80's brawlers: Roddy Piper, Brody, Funk, JYD, Hacksaw, and Demolition.(Ax and Smash). But my big inspiration for mic stuff came from horror movies... Leatherface, Jason Vorhees, and Freddy Krueger. I know two of them were "silent" killers, but I always thought about what they might say if they were speaking. In the Mouth of Madness has a huge impact into writing some of my early promos, the padded cell and insane gibbering with writing all over his body and the walls. I also blatantly ripped off a few early catch phrases from a comic book called "Faust: Love of the Damned".

There were moments I was tempted to rip off Lechter, but ultimately decided that it didn't fit the character... I preferred the wild-eyed lunacy to the cold and calculating madness of a person like Hannibal. My biggest inspiration for Cole always came from Jason Vorhees.

I have no idea who Hartt's real life counterpart would be. I tried for a Benoit style, but it doesn't work that well. Maybe Bret Hart. I don't know. I got a rock.

I'm not sure that Spectre knows what the internet is.

;)

That being said, this actually fulfills a long standing idea that I had, and was something that I'd discussed with a few people in the past: Who would you have to put across the ring from Spectre in order to make him into a face-by-default...

Hayes was the name that kept coming up, so I went with it.

Spectre does what Spectre does...his style didn't change one iota in that match, and it won't be changing in the future when it's SCD across the ring from him...if the fans decide they want to cheer him as a face, I suspect they'll be sorely disappointed when he continues to try to murder people and try to break down their heroes.

His issue with HOPE is that he doesn't agree with the way that they're limiting themselves by running in a pack. He feels that they have the capacity for so much more mayhem, if only they'd do it.

So he tried to show everyone how you fight them...and Hayes's pre match promo was right: He DOES feel like he won (because he's delusional)...because he showed that HOPE can be hurt.

As for "is he 'Taker or Raven'?

I let other people decide that and try to let the work speak for itself.

Let's have a survey.

I vote Raven!

Double postin' ... LIKE A BOSS~!

(Oi, that was stupid. Oh well, too late now, backspace key is broken. [/lies])

Craven started out as a combination of Jerry Flynn and Mankind. Yeah ... funny combo. Does anyone even remember Jerry Flynn? I thought he was awesome but, then, I was like Barry Horowitz Mark #1 for years there.

Now, well, he's evolved to the point where I have no point of reference. He's driven by age, rage, frustration and a need to cement a legacy before being forced out of the ring. I guess there are dollops of UT there, as someone mentioned, just 'cause he's got the whole nigh-invulnerability thing going on. Jake Roberts' personal life (and, when confident, a little of his voice) is in there. Some grandiose verbiage spews from him ala Sid Eudy (Master ... and ruler ... of the world!) when speaking of "the Violence". Oh, yeah, and the MPD of a Mick Foley. Have to mention that.

Really he's just some crazy pastiche of eclectica that I've concocted to hopefully entertain a few folks. Hopefully I've been successful. :/

Oh and while I'm at it; Gutch is King Kong Bundy and Livestock is Mike Awesome. Gutch is probably gonna be more like a Scott Norton when he comes back. WCW Scott Norton, not Japanese workrate old guy Scott Norton like we got now.

I usually take personalities from outside of wrestling (Danny Daniels was a mixture of several characters, including an Animaniacs cartoon). Usually after a couple of cycles the character changes from the original concept.

As for wrestling styles, Daniels is probably most like Honky Tonk Man: Extremely basic offense with massive overselling.

Sal- maybe Stan Lane from the Midnight Express. Quick but not a pure aerialist.

Supreme Wright was basically created to be every overtly serious "Wrestling is a pure combat sport and I am the best in the world!" ROH World champion ever. So he's got the overt seriousness of Davey Richards combined with the overt seriousness of Eddie Edwards and the overt seriousness of Tyler Black...and then I made him wrestle like Nigel McGuinness and Bryan Danielson.

Of course...after modeling him after all these humorless white guys...I made him look like Jay Lethal.
