It’s entirely possible that some of you who have been with me find this a tad cliché. I understand it, I do. But let’s face it, one of the main reasons why the MBC keeps returning is because of nostalgia. What good is nostalgia if we can’t celebrate yet another anniversary? Today marks year sixteen. And yes, we’ve not done it consecutively in that time. But the MBC still stands, even if it keeps getting knocked down or if it stumbles over drunk. I take pride in that and I know there are some of you who do as well.
Running this thing takes a lot of work. Doing the shows is a constant reminder of that and I certainly take my hat off to people like Mike Beeby, Chris Blue and Brian Bell who CAN do it and ARE doing it better than I ever could. But I will admit, above all else, that I couldn’t have done any of it (off and on) for sixteen years if I didn’t have a lot of people who helped me along the way.
Hence this custom of mine, the ever growing list of thanks. Every person here has contributed in some form or fashion, in some way be it tangible or not. If I didn’t read and update it each year, there would be people who I would forget. That’s certainly something I do not want to do.
So, I give you thanks.

-----------

Shannon Amely- Here's a crazy bastard and one of my best friends. He's also one of the Original 8 but even after he stopped handling in the MBC, he has always been one of those guys who inspired crazy ideas and commentary. Shannon has been a help in getting peripheral things setup, like one of the older versions of the webpage and other crazy crap over the years. For those of you who don't know him, he handled former MBC Champion and Team Bastard Champion Shortdog. In the first year he ran an E-fed on the bulletin board system called WUYA which helped promote the whole concept of E-wrestling. So many stories...

Derek Anderson- Derek wasn't around too terribly long but he handled both Scotty and Timmy Davis, two holdovers from the AEWA. He helped out with the occasional match which I think anybody in e-wrestling knows is always the biggest hurdle to get over outside of burnout and writer's block. I doubt this is the same guy who quarterbacks in the NFL but...

Mike Beeby- Ah, my biggest rival. But that's a good thing. Not only has the UWF/MBC partnership been fruitful for the both of us, it has inspired some of the MBC's best moments. Beebs has done a lot in regards to helping promote the MBC and has written some great matches for me over the years. And let us not forget he handles Tom Landis. And we all know how important Tom Landis is to a certain color commentator. Mike has also handled Tara Marshall and the Masters of Motion. I can also thank him for giving me Becky Carlisle who became pretty popular here in the MBC. Only Beeby is immune to the Carlisle Voodoo. It's in his contract.

Shaun Bishop- Another of the Original 8 and author of some damn fine moments in MBC history if I do say so myself. You historians would recognize him as the handler of one of the MBC's all time legends Rook. He also created former SBC Champ Absence. For a short time he ran the Ultimate Bastard Championship which spawned one of Simon O'Neal's many ex-wives. There was also a stretch of time when he was the MBC's second Webbastard and in that time he taught me a lot of things about webpage building. I may not use them but he taught me none the less. On occasion he'd write me some filler segments of commentary. When you're working on getting matches done, something like that is huge.

Chris Blue- A new name to be added in 2012 and probably the biggest head scratcher to some. Back in the earlier days, or rather the MIRC hey days, I held a lot of animosity towards Blue that quite frankly was stupid. But back then, rivalries between feds and fedheads were far more prevalent. Was I even on his radar? I doubt it. So why add him? Because he did his job as a fedhead extremely well. And he still does. Back then the motivation was to be better at what I did so I could be on his level, even if I didn’t admit it at the time. I’m a firm believer in competition making the product better. And it did.

Jeff Boman- Handler of Doug Christian, Johnny Thunder and the Oakland Oddball. Contributed countless ideas and gave me some unconventional solutions to some unconventional problems. Jeff also helped make Pee Wee Hockey as popular by being one of the first to use it as a tool for RPing.

Pedro Boyd- Good ol' Dro is the man responsible for presenting the MBC to a wider audience in a far better capacity than I ever have. Handlers can give a league props but when a reviewer speaks out about how much fun a league is, it does wonders. Pedro, who is now officially a MBC handler, has given me all kinds of ideas and on a personal level, his CL Memorial Cup Show allowed me to write a RP I've always wanted to write. For that, I will always be thankful.

Tom Brooks- There was a time when I had a match writer who would do stuff weekly for me. Yet, he never handled. He was more than happy to write. Whatever Tom's reasons, those matches were a great help.

Steve Carmichael- Steve is another one of those guys who's random conversations with me and others sparked a lot of insane Unholy Trinity chatter. Let us not forget the short but memorable stint of "No Fat Chicks". And now, he’s officially a handler in the MBC. He’s new blood that’s old school and that will provide quite a lot going forward. And he also included a character based on me in a play he wrote a long time ago. I don’t know why I remember that now…

Desmond Clivio- Desmond had several key contributions to the MBC. One, he handled the Vegas Connection and went on to win the Psycho Driver Tag Team Titles. Two, he took those Psycho Driver Tag belts to his federation, the STWF when the MBC closed down around the time. Always nice to keep the legacy alive. And three, he took the Doomsday Chicken into his fed and made him a lean mean fighting machine. Until of course the bell rang. Then all bets were off.

Gib Crosby- I would smile and spit but that wouldn't do Gib justice. Anybody who has read a RP for "The Cardiac Kid" Joey Valachi or the Trailer Park Assassins knows exactly how it feels to laugh so hard it physically hurts. Aside from the glory that was Orbit, Gib also kicked off a lot of random conversations that would inspire the Unholy Three. Very few people can listen to me talk about my laser guided battle axe and then come up with a marketing campaign.

Sammi Curr- The MBC's first mega face and did a lot to piss the Hand of Doom off for one hell of a starting angle. Oh the memories. I don't know where he is now sadly as he didn't have the internet when we made the swap from the BBS to the Web. But he was one of the first inducted into the MBC Hall of Fame, a tribute well deserved.

Andre Dec- Tragically, we lost Andre on August 13, 2006. Many of you already know how brilliant of a writer he was. His influence extended far beyond the MBC, something that’s been covered much more eloquently by people better than myself. Aside from being a great handler for such characters as T.D. Swagger, Quinn Brown, Happy Hardcore and L.C. Thornton, Andre was instrumental in the MBC being around today. He wrote tons of awesome matches and was the consummate idea man. He found some of the most insane stuff on the internet which of course only drove me to try and top it. RIP Andre. We miss you man.

Christ Dent- Another steal from the AEWA. He wasn't around all that long but he wrote some matches for the MBC back in the day. I was glad to have him.

John DeWolfe- While never a handler in the MBC, he's one of many who influenced commentary. Plus he is the creator of Tawni Northern and Shawn McKenzie, two of the MBC's background characters. Read the FAQ people! (Note to self: Update the FAQ) He had a part in the creation of the UWF/MBC Joint Light Heavyeight Title, otherwise known as the Callista Flockheart Memorial Title. Not because she's gone but so we can remember how she was fifty pounds ago.

Clay Evans- Sometimes you need a little old school and there are few who are as old school as Clay. MBCers may know him for Mike Reznor but I first met him back in the AEWA. Clay's been great to bounce ideas off of and even written the occasional match or two. More than once, he's been a reference to some the hardcore elements of wrestling I was not plugged into and when you've got an entire championship division centered around hardcore insanity, it helps to have that kind of resource.

Gerren Fisher- Ger has come a long way since he first entered the MBC. It’s not often you can say you've watched a e-wrestler's career develop over the years in E-wrestling since most characters and handlers don't stick around. But Gerren has grown immensely as a handler while the One-Winged Angel has grown as a character. Aside from helping out many times on matches, he's also become a great ideaman.

Brett Frankel- Brett was one of the best handlers and match writers I had ever seen back when he was active in the game. He's one of many people who helped me bring along both as a handler and a fedhead. Brett also gave me control of two important background characters in the MBC. Tawni Northern, who occasionally fills in on commentary and interview duties and Shawni McKenzie, the MBC's ring announcer. He was the handler for the Fabulous Ones, the Kabuki Kidd, and Kensei Tokugawa.

Dante Franklin- I think if he had the time, Dante could fill a whole women's division with all his characters and carry on 5 or 6 feuds at once. Honestly, I'm not sure he hasn't done that already. But Dante has done much to make the women's division as good as it is. He's done some great work with matches and he's another one of the MBC's idea machines. I'd list all the women of the Danteverse but I don't have that kind of time to commit. Maybe if I take a week's vacation...

Bob Freeman- He never handled in the MBC but I've got to give thanks to "Bullet" Bob for his work in the AEWA. A lot of what I did with the MBC in the early days was based off of the AEWA model. You'll hear about the AEWA from me a lot. It was that special.

Luis Garavello- Every fed should have a crazy Brazilian. And for us, that would be Luis Garavello. In addition to handling Power & Arrogance he helped out with the occasional match. And since he's also bug shit crazy funny, he's also been an inspiration for commentary.

Henry Gehringer- At first, I never thought I could ever get "Sudden Death" Shane Matthews to sign with the MBC. Not only was he a huge name in the AEWA but a couple other places as well. But low and behold, he signed. And every Matthews RP was classic. People loved Matthews and his manager Johnny Terror. Henry wrote some classic matches in addition to having a classic feud with Tom Landis. If anybody knows where he is, tell him I said hello.

Jay Gunn- Another of the Original 8. Provided me a lot of tools over the years, including the software I used for the webpage over the years.

James Hardi- Original 8. Original Webbastard. Original Gangsta! I've known James since freshman year in high school he was the best man at my wedding. Soon, I will be the best man at his. I don't think I've known anybody who's been prouder to be a legitimate bastard than him. You may know him as "The Disgruntled Postal Worker" but for you more contemporary MBCers, he is also the creator of Vengeance. He’s also handled Ravage. Even when he hasn't handled, he's always been an influence on the MBC, giving me plenty of inspiration and ideas. Top that with his awesome work on the first version of mightybastard.com and you've got yourself a bonafied legend. Did I mention that he's also the only person other than me to write a complete MBC show completely on his own? Not a house show but Tuesday Bloody Tuesday? HE'S THAT MUCH OF A MIGHTY BASTARD!

Maureen Kennedy- Mo may not think it but she's been quite the inspiration. It was Mo who gave me the idea for Slush taking on the bad Wayne Newton ripoff in Vegas in 2006. And that's just recently. Mo has been giving me weird ideas for years. Plus she's a two time Grandmaster Typo Champion with Satin Sheets.

Kraig Larkin- I think Kraig handled in the MBC long enough for a cup of coffee. That's a shame too because the guy oozed bastardism, even if he claimed that he was an "Anti-bastard", a condition that befalls those born on December 23rd. I believe the same condition afflicts Steve Carmichael. Kraig however lurked in the #MBC channel on mIRC and fueled and sparked many debates and conversations that would somehow work their way into the MBC proper. He liked to torment me with his anti-bastardism which was quite fine by me.

David Lawson- David's history with the MBC reads like a rap sheet of bastardism. On the most basic level he handled Tragedy, Comedy, Chaos, Terror, La Vaca Loca, and most importantly SNAPPY! He was our third prestigious Webbastard. And why did he become the Webbastard? Because he put up an honest to God MBC Tribute site. Suffice it to say, that tribute site got me nostalgic and prompted the MBC to comeback in 2003. If anybody has talked to him lately tell him I said [MEEP].

Lone Wolf- Never knew his real name. But this is the guy who made the Thighmaster an MBC icon.

Ken Lowery- Probably the longest rap sheet of bastardism belongs to Ken though. He's one of the Original 8 and claims the longest consistent stint in the MBC with Crimson. The only one who comes close is the Doomsday Chicken. He also holds the record for most consecutive MBC PPV appearances I.E. ALL of them. If WWF had Hulk Hogan and WCW/NWA had Ric Flair, for the MBC it would be Crimson. I think it's safe to say that Crimson is probably THE top wrestler in MBC history based on all his achievements. In addition to Crimson, he also handled Felicity and Rose Malone and took over Vengeance when James wasn't able to handle anymore. Outside of handling, Ken ran "The Planet Max-Hell", the Dallas area bulletin board system that hosted the MBC. I suppose you could qualify him is as the precursor to the Webbastards. I don't recall if he's ever done a match but he has written many filler segments for me. I also believe you can credit "MEEP!" to Ken as well.

Craig McNicoll- He’s written matches and contributed numerous ideas. He’s one of the MBC’s biggest supporters and by far, the loudest voice calling for me to bring back Pee Wee Hockey. Recently, he’s been my top source for immediate feedback on shows, something I definitely like to have.

Bob Morris- Writer of many matches, founder of many grassroots campaigns to get the MBC recognition and lover of MBC Pee Wee Hockey. With Amazing Grace, Stephanie Harper, "Dr. EMS" Eric Mathew Somers, David Cooper, the Somers Twins and many, many others. Bob has established quite the legacy of angles and characters. He promotes the MBC like crazy and filled in a needed gap with the LEW. He's both an idea man and a sounding board for when I get a crazy idea for an angle.

My Wife- If I didn’t thank her, I’d be sleeping in the yard. And there are rabid cats in our neighborhood…

Bob Northrip- You know you have yourself a hell of a character when several people join a federation just to feud with that character. All at the same time. I can't even tell you how many people wanted in to the MBC just so they could target Tara Smith. And let us not forget how essential Tara Smith has been to the MBC as a non wrestler. Her presidency and feud with Lee was a key piece of story in what was probably the best era of creativity the MBC has had. On top of that, there's Team Canada, Janick Erikson, Kari Stevens and Katie Smith. Bob has helped with some big angles and has written several matches in his time here. I still find it funny that it was the Pee Wee Hockey that convinced Bob to join the MBC though.

Daryl Northrip- He's done matches and worked on some huge angles here in the MBC. He's helped me to flesh out a lot of my characters over the years, even the ones who should have been shelved years ago. Take "Superfly" Susan Davis for example. Darryl has done a lot in regards to improving both the women's and tag team division with Nina Grimsson and the Sons of Cacophony respectively plus the nutty bastard has given me all kinds of ideas to work with.

Chris O'Brien- If you haven't read any of Chris O'Brien's MBC work from 2001, then stop what you're doing, go to the old archives and read. He brought people to the MBC because his work was that good. He sparked interest in the MBC and he inspired many people around him to higher levels of creativity. Among the many things you can credit to COB is the "21 OH MY GROIN Salute".

Joshua Owen- I haven't seen him since maybe 1998. While not one of the Original 8 he was one of the MBC's biggest stars in the first year with Brigade. His feud with the Disgruntled Postal Worker was classic. He did some early work on the first MBC website with James Hardi and put together a lot of the logos and graphics at the time. He recruited a lot of people back in the day and many of them stuck around for quite a while.

J.J. Robertson- J.J. is another guy you can credit for helping the MBC to come back in the current incarnation. He's written a ton of matches over the years and all of them were great. The guy was a match farm. I worried about giving him too many matches but he never complained once. He's been an idea man, a sounding board and solution provider to some of the more unconventional issues I've had behind the scenes. He wrote house shows on top of his handling of the Schram Brothers. Somehow his SWAT team stories will be incorporated into Slush commentary one day. Most importantly, I consider him a dear friend and mentor.

Mark Sherrick- Mark was a nice grab from the AEWA for the tag team division. While his West Coast Connection wasn't around long, I still appreciated him giving us a shot. He wrote a few matches for the MBC and I went on to work with him in the UWF. He had a part in the creation of the UWF/MBC Joint Light Heavyeight Title, otherwise known as the Callista Flockheart Memorial Title. Not because she's gone but so we can remember how she was fifty pounds ago.

Chris "Flouzemaker" Shill- He’s questioned why exactly he's on the list before but he’s not coming off. He's been an idea man and sounding board. A simple conversation launched a thousand ideas in my brain and he's launched many fleets himself. Secondly, he did some fantastic logo work that was just amazing. He was the fourth official webbastard and did an incredible redesign.

Mike Sonby- The biggest coup I ever had was signing Simon O'Neal to the MBC when we first came to the internet. The fact he wasn't put off by the first email I sent him that called him "sir" over and over again is amazing. From that point, he's been the epitome of Mighty Bastardism with Simon O'Neal, Jimmy O'Neal and Paul Wong. Mike was also an influence on the MBC via how he ran AEWA when he took it over from Bob Freeman. He was also instrumental in keeping the MBC very much alive when the league itself was closed. The biggest examples of that being the night when the MBC took over an AEWA telecast and the 2X4 Tournament running in the AEWA. Mike has written matches, done huge angles and has been an ideaman and sounding board. He's the ultimate team player and elevates everybody around him. I know for a fact he elevated me as a handler and as a recruiter Mike is top notch. He managed to secure the Fraternity Boys, Trailer Park Assassins and Power & Arrogance all at the same time. Two MBC World champs, Two Team Bastard Champions, Two Psycho Driver Tag Champs and four Grandmaster Typo Championships out of that one group. PLUS O'Neal has held the MBC World Title three times himself.

Roy Stanley- Another coup for me, starting with the Assassins and later with Stan Crawford. Now if there was anyone that I seriously overworked as a match writer it's Roy. But by god, every match was so worth it. Most important of all, Roy is the man who created Tinkle. Given how popular Tinkle is, I just don't think Roy gets enough credit for his creation. He may not get enough credit for anything.

Neal Thayer- Props go to Neal for so many reasons. He's taken on several matches and has been involved in some great angles. Sadly some of them never got to be put into play because of the multiple MBC closures. He's worked as a top recruiter and he certainly brought us some gems. As a handler, I owe him quite a lot for helping me to develop some of my own characters in his feds. And overlooked for a while was the fact that Neal was the MBC’s fifth official webbastard. I’m pretty sure I still owe him money for the web domain registration…

Amanda and Monica Traphagen- Two of the Original 8 and otherwise known as Blue Canary and Spider. They had all kinds of crazy ideas in that first year and they helped expand the MBC out by putting it onto their own bulletin board system, Succulent Shrimp. Monica also ran her own E-fed on Max-Hell which kind of helped bolster the whole concept in that first year, much like Shannon Amely's WUYA

Chris Turner- Another crazy bastard who wasn't in the MBC that long as a handler but had a huge influence on the comedy. I saw him wrestle once in NWA-Southwest as Damien "The Devil" Dimento or something like that. Sadly he got injured that night. But it pleased me to no end that I was a bigger dude than the Texas Heavyweight Champion at the time, Action Jackson. Just for the record, the official MBC stance is that we don't like Action Jackson. He's the dude that botched the move that dislocated Chris' shoulder. If anybody happens to talk to Chris, tell him hello.

Katie White- Match writer, idea woman, sounding board. Since she handles Ryu Osawa, I would have said something about loving that rooster of hers but it in a far more inappropriate manner. I'm still waiting for her to agree to name her first child after me. I have yet to determine if Sonby is on board with that idea.

And of course, a big thanks to every handler who came into the MBC at one point or the other.

You are to refer to Katie as "The Duchess of Der Basterdmusen" as of June 2014. She'll get angry if you don't. You've been warned.

Out of fear of your avatar somehow coming to life one day and hunting me down, I'm going to say that 14 years is still hot shit.
