You certainly need limitations.  From potential matchups to potential stips and all that....

I mean... We dont wnat another Manson/Craven monstrosity... do we? :-D

Through his publicist Marcus Manson has disavowed any involvement in the Meatgrinder match with William Craven. Manson has claimed that he was vacationing in Luxembourg at the time and the individual who faced William Craven was an imposter.

:P

Uh-oh, fake Manson! What is this, 2000 again?

"When reached for comment William Craven was quoted as saying 'wow ... from the other side that's kind of annoying.'"
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

just off the top of my head, here are some of the gimmick matches that could be used:

2/3 falls
Submission
Cage
Falls count anywhere
No DQ
No Count out
Russian Chain/Dog Collar/Texas Bull Rope/the wrestlers are tied together and much touch all four corners uninterrupted gimmick
(Blank) on a Pole
Flag Match
Coal Miner's Glove
Blindfold
Street Fight
Last Man Standing
Ladder
Lumberjack
Scaffold
Table
Bag of Tricks
I Quit
Iron Man
Special Referee
First Blood
Tuxedo
Strap Match
Singapore Cane Match
Stretcher Match

that's just the short list to get started - i'm sure we can come up with more :)

Actually, I voted no - and explained earlier that I voted such since PVW has been light on gimmick matches.

But if we're gonna do it, may as well embrace it :)

I voted yes.

I think it's a cool idea but should be it's own event. I can see how people would vote no but it's not something I've seen done in e-w and I think it'd be cool to try.

In some vein it reminds me of when RCW did Old School night. I really love that card. If you've not seen it then you're missing out. Fletch and Andy were genius with that idea.

Oh and I'd add Thunderdome to Berger's list. :)

See, I think thunderdome is too mch for pvw. The most brutal gimmick match we've had was wargames. Unless you want to count the meatgrinder. I haven't read the rebirth rules match yet so I don't know if that beats wargames either.

I think those type of matches, thnderdome, ultimate death, hell in a cell, that stuff should be saved for the rubber match for a main event feud, not randomly tossed onto a ballot for an undercard match IMO

What if, for a rubber match, all the really hardcore stips are just available as options? Y'know, if there's no feud involved there are no stips and people vote on who participates. If there's a feud, then we have options like no DQ/lumberjack/ladder. If it's a big rubber match THEN it's like Rebirth/Buried Alive/Meatgrinder.

That's right, I said MEATGRINDER~! Deal with it, people!

You take my meaning though. Depending on the level and nature of the match the vote will count for different things. 3, maybe 4 choices per match and everybody on the roster (hopefully) at least has a chance to participate. Let the "fans" decide on the people competing in some of the matches. People who might otherwise be left out or thrust into some lame (no offense) 10 man tag, battle rumble or other match where the participants are so many that no one can truly shine.
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

Stips are fine even for undercard matches, we just don't want, for instance, Marcus Manson vs Masked Maniac in a Japanese Exploding Barbed Wire Ropes Death Match.

That's why i tended to go with "lighter" stips in the list i posted, cus Manson vs Maniac in a no count out match makes a lot more sense.

And I guess the term i should have used was blow-off match, rubber match is technically wrong in that example :P

Remember, it doesn't have to be the stip that's voted on. The combatants at large could also be voted on as well.
And here's where I pretend to be a writer...

While that may be a norm fixture in many feds. We tend to not have that much more then a few sick spots per PPV that are considered a little extreme. So Rebirth Rules be it only No DQ / No Count outs are a little special in PVW.

Add when we do Rebirth it's usually picked up a notch because it's Spectre so it's not just a usual no DQ no Count out match anyways.

Think back to when Raven was in his Raven Rules matches in his prime. They were always a little bit more crazy then your usual extreme rules match.

I know how PVW is with the gimmicktry and what not, so I totally udnerstand the idea. But I dunno... Just sounded so much cooler, though now learning its more a Spectre thing, it makes more sense.

Yup...9 times out of ten, a Rebirth Rules match has included The Spectre...

And then I have to get inventive on how he'll try to murder his fellow human beings this time.
