That is one thing I am proud of. We have gotten by with out crossing to many insane match ideas. The PPV's overall have come out pretty well with the majority of the matches normal good old fashion wrestling match.

I think we keep things pretty mild outside the pen stab ... steak knife spot! :)

Hey, now... then pen stab wasn't the issue.
Given the urgency of defending his family from Craven, lunging for the nearest implement to stab Craven is actually a pretty credible thing. And a pen stab is considerably less dangerous than a steak knife.

What was a bit more difficult to understand is why a man animated by the primal urgency of defending his family from Craven would stop and take the time to lick the blood off the pen.
There's a strong visual image, but... if the guy is a threat to your son, why would you stop the assault to lick his blood? I would have imagined Cole would be way too consumed with the desire to beat the stuffing out of Craven to do that, that's all.

That will forever be known as the night William Craven gave Rob Cole Hep C...

In explanation of why the blood licking: Consumption of the soul, taking the strength of another and making it your own. The whole "Monster under the bed" gimmick, which isn't entirely abandoned despite Coles' best efforts. Cole isn't a baby-face, he's "Face with an edge"... along the lines of Roddy Piper when he feuded with Bad News Brown or Adrian Adonis. Good intentions, but he's still pretty vicious.

Also... licking someone elses blood is a good chilling visual.

Additionally: I don't write Cole from show to show. Everything I do has an episodic feel. The psychology isn't something you'll see with just one flash or one moment, it's something you have to put together over a the length of a cycle. Something might not make a lick of sense in one show, but by the end of a cycle you suddenly see see the point... you can look back and point to what I was building from the first show of the cycle and see where Coles' character arc has taken him. The face turn has taken nearly four cycles to get where it's gotten.

Eh, not really. I prefer using it as eye black.

ARISE FROM YOUR SLEEP, DEAD THREAD!

So, it's 2012...we've got some new folks. Or maybe some new opinions.

Thoughts on the "fans" picking stips/wrestlers for a few matches in a PPV?
And here's where I pretend to be a writer...

Fah-reel, peoples~! Fan choice! Do it! I set up this poll and there was a lot more yes than no, 24 in favor of it (though not all for Boiling Point per se) and only 7 against! It's a good idea! Seriously...

Yeah I voted against the Fan Choice PPV and I still do. If we do a fans choice PPV it will be the Night of The Meatgrinders just to piss everyone off!

I don't want it for this ppv, it might make an interesting PPV down the road, but I think the choices need to be limited. If you vote for gimicks, it should be limited to the number of gimmicks that fit in with the fed in general. When you pick an opponent, it should be from a limited pool. And it should only be a few "vote for" matches... not a huge number of insane spot crap.

I'm not averse to a gimmick match as long as it has good psychology and it tells a decent story.

That's where you take a lesson from WWE and make the choices so asinine that there doesn't really matter if the fans have a choice:

What kind of match do you want to see Uncle Frank and Marcus Manson participate in at Shattered Dreams?
A) Chicago Street Fight
B) No Disqualification
C) Hardcore Match
