I would not appreciate being stabbed in the eye so I'll keep the files on the smaller side. No, seriously the reason I keep files smaller has to do with the fact that basically you are just getting me talking. There is nothing there that you NEED some pristine sound quality. You do not even need stereo when it's just talking. It's just talking and the smaller the file size the easier the download is and the less space it takes up. It makes sense all the way around IMO. And Moze you should know by now that me being up with the times on anything would not happen as I am always behind on all things. |

Terry, this is an intervention; because friends don't let friends use dialup. CUT THE (telephone) CORD, MAN~!
I know nothing, bro. You're never online anymore for me to chat with. ![]() I take it back. I know one thing. Here's a sample. "HOOO*pop*OOO*crackle*LAAAA MI AMIG*snap*." That's what the podcast sounds like! I'm just saying 10MB per hour instead of like 6 or 7, man. If it's running 32mbps up it to 64 or something! Caaa-maaan! |

review! Manson vs. Frank: This felt a little short, especially for an I Quit match between two maniacs. Also a surprisingly technical match. Still, a decent fast-paced opening. Dos vs. Spectre: A cool match that got both characters over for what they do (ridiculous carnage and plucky babyface perseverance). Interesting in that there was a definitive winner of the match but not of the feud, as Spectre never fully converted SCD. Fontana vs. Weaver: This, on the other hand, seemed to stretch on and got kind of repetitive. Maybe the time should have gone to Manson/Frank. But the psychology and the mat wrestling were great. After all that, though, it ends with a rollup? I'm also not sure what the point was of the postmatch fake-out, at least not IC. Black vs. Hartt: Wait, where was the time limit during that last match? I kid. Really solid match that furthered the feud between the two. It was definitely too soon for a blow-off, and this helps keep things going. Craven vs. HVD: Awesome crazy violence match. I really dig the ongoing storyline with HOPE taking out all of their potential challengers before the Rumble. Berserkers vs. Max & Sal: I wasn't really looking forward to this one, but the match made me a believer. I loved the Berserkers being subtle heels throughout, and Max and Sal having to stoop to their (not all that low) level to retain. Hayes vs. Detson: This was absolutely epic, and was probably the best-paced 2/3 falls match I've read or seen. So many great, character-defining moments. I would have liked to see Hayes retain and continue dominating the fed, but after the way the angle was built around him being a "choker" it would have been hard for him to lose. Which I guess was kind of a problem -- the ending was too telegraphed. But the match itself was awesome enough to paper over it. Rumble: Holy crap! This one had all of the moments you look for in a rumble, and a couple of original ones. It did a good job of advancing ongoing feuds while also confirming that other ones (like Frank & Manson) were settled. I think just about everyone got at least one good character moment in here, which is hard to do. By halfway through I was getting that telltale too-much-ice-cream feeling, meaning that it -- like any good Rumble -- was a joyful wrestling overdose. Also, the return of INVINCIBLE FONTANAMAN! I think a couple blood vessels just burst. Segments: I can't remember them enough to review them individually, but lots of fun backstage stuff that didn't overwhelm the matches. I especially liked Holliday stealing Danny's number. All in all, a good show, with two fanastic matches aat the top. Good work everyone! |

Well, if I can elaborate on the Weaver Fontana match, since multiple people have brought up the ending... Weaver has, since his inclusion into HOPE, been assumed to be a face turn waiting to happen. His code of honor, hate of Johnstone and refusal to participate in group attacks fed to this. The idea all cycle long was that his respect for Fontana would finally cause him to turn on HOPE. That's what the foreshadowing rps the last few weeks alluded to, and his facish way to finish the match (think Bret Hart) set up for his abandonment of his code all together. And for Perry being invincible, that's not on Flouze. The original plan had him win our match but be thoroughly destroyed in the process, getting tossed out in the rumble by HOPE. All in all, I'm quite happy with the way it all turned out even if a lot of people didn't 'get it'. |

I cannot express in words how much I disliked the ending to the Rumble...not the way it was written, or even presented, but the booking itself. I generally don't publicly air disagreements with Rob and Brian's booking decisions, but this one really bugged me. You had a completely fresh and uninjured Nevermind who was tearing through the remaining competitors end up getting beaten by a guy who'd been through hell (and a table) and could barely walk. I was just waiting for Fontana to rip open his button up shirt to reveal a blue shirt with a big "S" in the middle. Which is why the hate. |

Now now, Don! Superman would have gorilla pressed everyone out of the ring in a Hogan-like show of dominance. Getting his ass beat only to get the improbable win is totally a Spiderman thing... especially with a finish that requires tumbling. That finish is so acrobatic it's as if it was conceived with a different winner in mind. ![]() Fontana is definitely not limber or agile enough to land on top of Nevermind on purpose. Though Jer made sure to be nebulous on whether it was intentional or accidental, and Weaver's the guy that tossed them both out, so I can go along with it. Jer did a fantastic job with the information he was given. As for the Weaver-Fontana post-match... JC used roughly half of all Weaver RP's all cycle long to show Weaver as a black sheep within HOPE, always leaving open the possibility of a Weaver turn. The hiatus sort of threw that out of whack, but still. I'm still not sure where we failed in this. Tough to learn from your mistakes when you can't tell where it was made... Perhaps the intent would have been clearer with the original finish which had Fontana winning with a roll-up (which is why Jer thought Fontana had won his match when he wrote the rumble), and Weaver finally embracing the Johnstone way after their falling out during the match. AsH would have been avenged, but Weaver would get the last word, eliminating Perry in the rumble and essentially taking Fontana out for a little hiatus. Then, plans had to change and I was probably too lazy to re-write all of what had already been written. Did I tell Brian and Rob that making Fontana win would be a mistake? Yes. Does it help right now? No. I'll do my best and hope Errol and I can be entertaining. |
