I'm hoping people are able to ascertain that the opening music video was a tribute to the US Olympic swim team's video for the same song. Otherwise, I just look nutty.

Which is also quite true.

I'll take that as tacit permission to write an AWA tribute to AKB48's "Heavy Rotation", and assume that everybody knows what I'm talking about! :dance13:

 I dug the entire opening of the show from the over the top ridiculous intro to the surprise opening match that transitioned perfectly into the next one. For only being part 1 of Night 1, there was so much continuity and fluidity of it already. Excited for what's to come.

Production quality have gone way up since starting their tie-up with Empire Sports...

I thought it was awesome, and gives Marley a definite direction that he can go in for his next promo (which is already percolating in my addled brains)

Honestly, I really debated on whether or not to do the Marley glass ceiling promo or not since I was afraid that some folks might decide that it was a thinly veiled shoot instead of an attempt to tell a bit of a different story than we normally see in e wrestling...but I honestly felt that by the time it was finished that it was the best thing I'd written for him in years.

Marley promo brought the goods and that was a really involving match to read. As far as the glass ceiling goes, it couldn't have been booked better than to have the Mr. Mid-year #1 guy take him out. Literal and figurative smack in the face. I hope this isn't over.

 Other thoughts:

-Starting to become a Supreme Wright fan.

-Monosso vs. Nenshou - It has to happen eventually. Cheered at the Quarters announcement, but now fearing this is just a tease.

-Bad luck, Walls. Along with Nenshou/Marley, November/Pure X was an involving read.

-"BW: It ain’t a three-on-one until Vasquez does his job!" :D

I predict that both will be told to step aside, and Percy will insert Vasquez in the spot. Because it's beneath Mr. "I'm The #1 Character In The World Without Even Trying" to start the tournament any earlier than the semifinals.
