 If the Stampede Cup is expendable, then why not the Rumble?

Make it the Labor Day rumble this year, when it will mean something.

 Rumble winner could be tourney commissioner.. Granting him the ability to create stips... Oversee the tournament and.. Ultimately tip the scales in his own favor. Or he could get to choose the seeding and pave his own path (ie gets to change bracket and hand pick his opponent each round from the remaining competitors).. I dunno these ideas are probably terrible and involve starting tourney after rumble.

 So, if we went with Joe's suggestion (which appeals to me), we could potentially do the following -

Announce a 64 man tournament on the next show that starts immediately. That means our big matches for Memorial Day Mayhem and the 4th of July can be tournament matches potentially as well. The tournament runs all summer leading up to Labor Day.

The Labor Day show would see... maybe the Final Four and Finals along with the Rumble. Yes, it'd be a killer show to write but it'd be a huge show for us. That would also mean that if the Finals went on last, the Rumble could potentially involve anyone who was in the tournament with the exception of the last two guys.

This would, of course, bump the Stampede Cup into early 2013 as well.

As Rob said, it'd require a lot of "extra" guys. From Bob's post with the math, you can see the singles roster is a bit depleted at the moment so we'd be looking to have some tag guys in this... maybe some JTTS guys... a whole lot of outside guys. We'd be looking for fun cameos and short runs. We'd be looking to use some of the "old-timers" from our history pages also.

I think this strongly appeals to me. Am I alone in that?
