The Unused Apps thread over in the main forum got me thinking that I'd like to create a spot for all the apps for I Make 'Em, You Take 'Em that either a] never got picked up or b] got picked up and abandoned. This would serve to refresh some memories and give folks who are thinking of applying and ask the always-asked question of "What kind of characters are you looking for?" As such, I'll be using this thread to post all those apps and character descriptions that I've got. I'm not going to lock this thread because I don't feel like unlocking it every time I want to post a new one but PLEASE don't use this thread for anything else. If you feel the need to comment on one of the characters, use a different thread or create one for that purpose. Anything posted in here that's not a IME,YTE post will be deleted. |

Character Name: “High Profile” Darryl Styles Height: 6’1 Weight: 240 Hometown: Las Vegas, Nevada Physical Description: Up to you! Face/heel/?: I pictured him as a heel Manager [if applicable]: None, but he could also be used as a manager if you want. He was originally the manager for Shannon Stokes and Bling Bling Beaumont when the AWA launched. Theme Music: Up to you! Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: Up to you! Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Flashy spotty guy What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Maybe Kenny King? Attitude-wise, I was thinking a heelish MVP when I made him. Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Frog Splash Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] Handspring elbow Baseball slide rana Somersault plancha Rydeen Bomb - the old D-Lo Sky High Front rolling Samoan Drop ---> Quebrada Other moves [10-25] Spinning leg lariat Corner avalanche Corner double knees Cradle suplex Middle rope senton Butterfly suplex, roll through --> Kip up dropkick Springboard rana Discus punch (more flashy than powerful) Split-legged jawbreaker Enzugiri Three Strengths: Student of the game - Styles has served many roles in his career - wrestler, manager, announcer - and has seen many different wrestlers and styles go through. He’s very good at plotting a strategy and gameplan. High impact offense - some on the mat, some in the air, always impactful Off-balance approach - his style tends to surprise a lot of opponents, making it hard for them to adjust to him. Three Weaknesses: Brash - egotistical to a fault, he rubs people the wrong way in a hurry High flying, high risk style - can be beautiful to watch but can turn nasty quickly Quick-tempered - if things aren’t going his way, his great gameplans quickly go to hell. Profile(History of your character): Styles has competed all over the world yet is still a youthful 26 year old. Has taken his experience in Mexico, Japan, Canada and all over the United States to evolve his style into something truly unique. He’s just as happy behind the mic as he is inside the ring which makes him a promoter’s dream when selling tickets... especially since so many fans want to see him get his tail kicked. |

Character Name: The Samoan Hit Squad (Scola and Mafu) Height: Scola - 6’6, Mafu - 6’1 Weight: Scola - 285 pounds, Mafu - 245 pounds Hometown: From the Isle Of Samoa Physical Description: Wild-eyed and wild-haired, the Samoans look like the kind of guys you would NOT want to encounter in an alley. Scola is the big man of the team, tall and hefty, solid as a rock with muscle. Mafu is the high flyer of the unit. Face/heel/?: Heels Manager [if applicable]: I would think so. You can use James J. Dallas, the Southern gentleman, if you'd like. Theme Music: Up to you! Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: Up to you! Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Both of them would prefer to be crazy, wild brawlers but Scola’s game is pure power. He likes the big, high impact throws and slams. Mafu is good with his hands and feet, a feared striker, but he can take to the air as well. What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Scola’s probably something like... Davey Boy when he was juiced to the gills. Mafu will be something like Tama from the Islanders. Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Scola will sit on the top rope as Mafu climbs up facing him. Scola picks him in a superplex position and then tosses him out into a splash on their opponent. Scola stays on the middle rope and will absolutely level any incoming opponent with a flying clothesline if they try to break up the pin. Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] Scola Singles Overhead belly to belly throw Delayed vertical suplex Leaping shoulderblock Top rope powerslam Samoan Drop Mafu Singles Middle rope headbutt Top rope splash Reverse Russian Legsweep followed by rubbing the face on the mat Thrust kick under the chin Biting (He likes to bite!) Three Strengths: Crazed, wild brawling - once these two get started with the brawling, it’s tough to contain them Teamwork - lifelong friends, these two can practically sense what the other is about to do Well-balanced - between the brawling, the power, and the speed, there are few styles that the Samoans can’t mesh with Three Weaknesses: Too wild - prone to DQs and mistakes Very proud - will not back down from a fight even when it’s in their best interest Still unproven - still new to the pro wrestling scene, most teams and the promoters don’t respect them yet. Profile(History of your character): Scola and Mafu are best friends from their early days - both raised in very close Samoan families that have had previous family members succeed in pro wrestling. For years, these two have trained together waiting for the right moment. Now, the moment has arrived. |

The former finish for El Caliente. Other moves [10-25] Tope con hilo Baseball slide rana Rolling koppo kick 450 splash Asai Moonsault La Majistral Three Strengths: Crazy highflying - you want to talk about being unable to catch your balance, this kid hits you from all over the places at so many angles, it’s difficult to stay on track Youthful - with years ahead of him, El Caliente hasn’t suffered the injuries that most high flyers have Pedigree - trained at the knee of lucha legends Juvenil Infierno and El Corazon Negro Three Weaknesses: High risk style - what comes up, must come down... hard sometimes. Inexperienced - his youth and lack of experience in the States makes him at times uncomfortable in the ring and make mistakes he shouldn’t A target - because of his popularity, he usually becomes a quick way to get your name in the press. Profile(History of your character): El Caliente trained in Mexico, as most luchadors do, throughout his childhood and early teens. When he hit 16, he went pro, wrestling weekly in Friday night shows in Tijuana. While working there, he caught the eye of El Corazon Negro who took him under his wing - making him a showcase performed when he launched SouthWest Lucha Libre. When Pro Wrestling Revolution opened, El Caliente competed there as well to great success. Since PWR closed, Caliente has mostly competed in Mexico, with the occasional match in the States and has become one of Mexico’s most popular competitors. With pressure from former PWR owner Todd Michaelson, El Caliente now looks to bring that same level of success to the States. |

Character Name: “Dirty” Dick Sullivan Height: 6’3 Weight: 286 Hometown: Jackson, Mississippi Physical Description: You know the kind of guy who looks like they got up off a bar stool to get in the ring to fight... then gets out of the ring and goes back to the bar? Yeah, that’s him. He’s a throwback to the wrestlers of the pre-bodybuilding era. The upper side of his left forearm sports a Confederate flag tattoo - along with a nasty scar that is a remnant of an Indian Strap match. In the ring, he sports navy blue trunks, kneepads, and boots. A red elbow pad is on his right arm. He’s been ‘round the business for a long time and has had run-ins with a lot of the AWA’s top Southern stars (Sweet Daddy Williams, Soup Bone Samson, Vernon Riley, Kentucky’s Pride) and now he thinks it’s his turn to make some cash just like they are. |

Character Name: “The Bull” Bruno Dawson Height: 6’1 Weight: 311 Hometown: Huntington Beach, California Physical Description: He’s a round mound of whupass. If you’re looking for muscles and a hard training regimen, you’re looking the wrong place. The only thing “hard” about Dawson is his striking power. This guy will light a mutha up with chops, kicks, knees, forearms, elbows. He wanted to be an MMA fighter but he couldn’t handle the weight cuts. Face/heel/?: Could go either way Manager [if applicable]: Possibly Theme Music: Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Striker/submissionist What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Samoa Joe Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Sit out Uranage slam into the Anaconda vice Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] Look for pretty much any MMA style submission hold Corner flurry of strikes Rushing leaping knee in the corner Spinning powerslam Handful of hair with relentless knees/kicks to the head Other moves [10-25] You decide! Three Strengths: Underestimated - because of his physical shape, very few take him seriously and usually end up with their asses handed to them as a result. Fighting spirit - Dawson will just keep coming and coming and coming, no matter how much punishment he’s absorbing in the process. Stamina - despite the flabby gut, Dawson has a surprisingly large gas tank and is rumored to have competed in several one hour draws in the past. Three Weaknesses: Attitude - he’s cocky... borderline arrogant... but he’s got a right to be. Focus - he’s a bit of a party animal off-camera which often puts him in bad situations both in and out of the ring Prone to getting into slugfests Profile: Bruno Dawson spent his late teens in Orange County, California, training to become a Mixed Martial Arts fighter. He learned the arts of striking, grappling, and submissions from some of the best fighters in the world. Upon breaking into the MMA scene though, Dawson had mixed success because of his weight. Carrying so much weight often put him in the ring or cage against men much larger than him and made it difficult to get ahead. Unwilling to cut more weight, Dawson dropped out of the MMA scene and got into some trouble in the OC party scene. After spending two years in prison on an assault conviction, Dawson was bumming around when he was discovered by a pro wrestling promoter. They immediately started using Dawson who discovered he had a knack for this gig. Dawson soon became an Internet darling and was booked all over the United States in “workrate” indy promotions where his ring work was adored. Now, Dawson’s looking for his big break as he ventures into the AWA where he hopes to bully and batter his way into fame and forture. |

Character Name: Scott Mayhem Height: 6’2 Weight: 237 Hometown: Jacksonville, Florida Physical Description: Slim and muscular, Scott’s best identified by his wild hair and crazed eyes. Face/heel/?: Either Manager [if applicable]: Could be! Theme Music: ??? Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: ??? Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: High-flying brawler What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Ooooh yeah, dig it! Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: The Jacksonville Jam - Top rope legdrop Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] Double axehandle off the top - to the floor sometimes as well Leaping high knee to the back Running elbowsmash HIIIIGH leaping kneedrop Snapping jabs Other moves [10-25] Hairpull haymaker Hanging clothesline Bodyslam Atomic drop Suplex Biting Back elbowsmash Hairpull faceslam Legdrop off the apron on an opponent’s whose head is under the ropes Gutwrench suplex Three Strengths: Versatility - can do a little bit of everything pretty well inside the ring High flying - Most of his high flying stays out of the super high risk district Brawling - when pressed, he can throw down like few others Three Weaknesses: Unpredictability - you just never know what he’ll do - both in and out of the ring Violent nature - Sometimes won’t be satisfied with a win until he really finishes them off Jealousy - women, money, titles - he’s easily swayed by an inner desire to possess everything he doesn’t have. Profile(History of your character): Scott Mayhem debuted in a small Florida-based territory in 2007. He quickly became a beloved fan favorite who stuck to the rules like they were his gospel. In 2008, Mayhem was voted the Best Technical Wrestler in the entire state of Florida when he jumped to Florida Championship Wrestling. But on Christmas night of 2008, everything changed. Throughout the summer of 2008, Mayhem and ally Darius Ward were both chasing the Florida State Champion, “Dangerous” Dick Bass. Both Mayhem and Ward had come close to capturing the title all summer long but had ultimately come up short. For the big Thanksgiving show, it was ruled that Ward and Mayhem would go one-on-one with the winner meeting Bass on Christmas night for the title. Mayhem won that showdown with his friend through controversial means when he hit the Jacksonville Jam on a downed Ward who had suffered an apparently accidental low blow. Ward questioned his friend long and hard after the match but they ultimately made peace and Ward vowed to be in Mayhem’s corner on Christmas night. And he was... unfortunately for him. After Mayhem failed to defeat Bass yet again, he was outraged. He threw a tantrum of epic proportions, completely destroying the ringside area despite Ward’s best efforts to settle him down. As he was leaving ringside though, he heard Ward make a challenge to Bass. Bass’ arrogant manager, Gran Kedamono, accepted the challenge on the spot and moments later, Ward became the Florida State Champion. Mayhem returned to the ring and violently assaulted Ward, bloodying him badly by repeatedly smashing his head into the ringpost. Mayhem’s jealousy had been his undoing as he quickly devolved into one of the most irrational and unpredictable athletes the state has ever seen. The Ward/Mayhem feud would thrill Florida fans throughout much of 2009 with some of the most exciting and bloody matches that the state had ever seen. In the end, Ward sent Mayhem packing in a Loser Leaves Town match. Mayhem tried to get back into the promotion for months, wrestling under a mask and trying to goad Ward into begging for another shot at him. But after being unmasked by old rival Dick Bass during a tussle, Mayhem was banned for life from FCW. As the middle of 2010 arrives, Mayhem looks to make another big jump, this time to the American Wrestling Alliance where he looks to put his ghosts behind him. |

Character Name: “The Latin Heartthrob” Alfonso de Santos Height: 6’1 Weight: 245 Hometown: Tampa, Florida Physical Description: Ever seen the statue of David? You have a pretty good idea what Alfonso looks like. He appears to be chiseled out of stone with a physique that most men only dream of. But he’s not overly muscled. He has what would be called an athletic build. He keeps his curly black hair long and his beard trimmed close. Face/heel/?: Oh, he’s a heel Manager [if applicable]: Perhaps. Maybe a valet? Theme Music: ??? Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: ??? Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Technician What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Something like a heel Barry Windham without as much brawling. de Santos would prefer to outwrestle (or outcheat) his opponent. Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Spinning toehold Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] An Irish whip into a leaping shoulderblock Butterfly suplex (sometimes off the top rope) Frankensteiner (the headspike version) Crucifx powerbomb airplane spin thrown down to the mat Superkick Other moves [10-25] Flying forearm Choke in the corner Kneelift Snap suplex Sleeperhold Kneedrop Snapmare --> Rolling neck snap Surfboard Handful of hair, leap over the ropes to snap the neck back Middle rope elbowdrive to the throat Three Strengths: Technical skills - de Santos is one of the best wrestlers on the planet on the mat. Unfortunately, he knows it. Athleticism - the Latin Heartthrob is a born athlete and possesses tremendous agility, leaping ability, strength, and speed. He’s a “total package” if you will. Spinning toehold - one of the most basic moves in the wrestling world has been turned into a lethal weapon by de Santos. Three Weaknesses: Cheating - despite de Santos’ incredible skill, he’ll often resort to the shortcut which can cost him Ego - his mixture of talent and good looks makes him one of the most arrogant men in the business. Focus - de Santos has a distinct inability to stay focused on the task at hand. Profile(History of your character): Pure arrogance is what defines Alfonso de Santos. The man has dominated every promotion he has ever stepped foot in, racking up countless titles in the process. With such success behind him, he seems like a natural fit for the AWA. |

Character Name: “King Of Old School” Garry Allen Height: 5’10 Weight: 240 Hometown: Clarksville, Tennessee Physical Description: Allen’s best-known feature is his amazingly bright bleached blonde hair that has a tendency to turn bright, bright red when his scarred forehead gets split open - which is quite often. Face/heel/?: Heel Manager [if applicable]: Possibly! Maybe a valet? Theme Music: Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Allen can mat-wrestle but typically chooses not to. You can expect a lot of brawling out of him. What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Steve Corino, Jerry Lawler, Adam Pearce Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Clarksville Crab - your standard Boston Crab, a tribute to fellow Clarksville native Sam Willis Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] Old School Stomp - Garvin Stomp Middle rope fistdrop Running kneelift Spinning toehold Other moves [10-25] Middle rope punches to the corner opponent. Allen will count them out himself, mockingly clapping at the crowd as he finishes Cheating - chokes, ropeburns, tights pulled Belly to back suplex Russian legsweep Over the knee backbreaker Oklahoma Roll Airplane Spin Northern Lights Suplex Atomic Drop Facewash kicks in the corner Three Strengths: Technical skills - he may not use them much these days but at one time, Allen was considered one of the best technicians in the world. When he does bust them out, the opponent is usually caught off-guard and in big trouble. Toughness - people tend to take him too lightly considering his size but he’ll go toe to toe with anyone in the game Intelligence - It often seems like Allen is a step ahead of his opponent. That’d be wrong. He’s usually three or four steps ahead of them. Three Weaknesses: Cowardice - Allen’s not a big fan of the odds being against him and has no problem taking a countout or a DQ if he feels like it’s the best strategy for him. Easy bleeder - the scarred-up forehead makes him likely to split open at any time Old school style - Allen has a love of the 80s wrestling style and has adopted very few “newer” moves or strategies. He disdains high flying above all others though. Profile(History of your character): Garry Allen has made no friends for himself over the years. He came into the sport in the mid-90s as a young, skilled mat technician and soon found himself overwhelmed by a sea of hardcore and high flying talent. Skills like Allen’s were no longer valued in this era. Embittered, Allen retreated to the indy scene, working small towns and little buildings for small payoffs. He clung to his mat wrestling roots for several years until a particularly nasty feud turned bloody. Sidelined with an injury, Allen watched a ton of old wrestling DVDs and found new inspiration. When he returned, he did so as the “King Of Old School” and made a big reputation for himself in the “Internet Age” of the early 2000s. Now in his mid-30s, Allen has done all he can on the indy scene and is looking for the big payday to set him up for the rest of his life. |

Character Name: “The Beast” Jackson Cain Height: 6’3 Weight: 280 pounds Hometown: Parts Unknown Physical Description: Massive mountain of a man. Those 280 pounds aren’t made up of muscle though - just utter toughness. His arms are covered completely in tattoos, some self-done in just plain black ink. Face/heel: Heel Manager: Could be! Theme music: Up to you! Entrance: Up to you! Wrestler Type: Big, ugly brawler. Tough guy to the core. What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Let’s go with something like a Stan Hansen or Bruiser Brody Finisher: The Death Sentence - double handed axehandle Heart Punch Signature Moves: Arm-trap headbutts Choke on the middle rope --> Baseball slide to the floor, uppercut Overhead belly to belly throw Uranage backbreaker Double underhook lift and then face-first slam Other moves: Discus punch Samoan Drop Belly to back lift ---> Throw Brawling Inverted side slam Middle rope headbutt to a standing opponent Mounted punches Catapult to the corner Running powerslam Leaping legdrop Strengths: Brawling skills - Cain’s background as a hardened street brawler carries over to the squared circle Rulebreaking - Cain’s damn good at breaking the rules to his advantage primarily out on the floor where he’s especially dangerous A virtual unknown - Cain’s relatively new to the wrestling business so there’s not a lot of scouting possible Weaknesses A loner - He trusts no one and wants no friends or partners. Slow - he’s never been much to care about the speed game so if he’s faced with a much quicker opponent, he’ll be easily outpaced. The suits are loathe to trust him considering his background. Profile: Jackson Cain enters the AWA from an interesting place... prison. A troubled youth with a background of violence, Cain spent several years in a maximum security prison when he was convicted for armed robbery shortly after his 20th birthday. Inside prison, Cain was reknown for being one of the toughest men in the joint and had his sentence extended several times for brawling. Fresh out of jail, Cain cashed in a favor with an old family friend with AWA front office connections to get his foot in the door of the Combat Corner. Todd Michaelson broke down Cain and rebuilt him into the monster that he is. Cain has tried for months to get promoted to the main roster but Michaelson has refused so far. This time, Cain went around Michaelson and was promoted by AWA Director of Talent Relations, Bill Masterson. This decision has brought Cain to the main roster but not through the typical process and as a result, Todd Michaelson has refused to acknowledge Cain as a Combat Corner graduate. |

Shock is an African-American man with his hair buzzed close to his scalp and muscles on top of muscles. Awe rocks a mohawk and has his beard shaved into a chin spike. Face/heel/?: Heels Manager [if applicable]: TBD Theme Music: Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Powerhouses What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: Shock is something like an Ezekiel Jackson or the like. Awe is closer to a Mike Awesome. Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Shock & Awe - Shock with a king-sized powerbomb as Awe comes off the top with a splash. Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] The Shocker - Shock slings an opponent over his shoulder and charges from buckle to buckle to smash his victim into the corner. Intimidating - the power and strength sends some teams heading for the hills Teamwork - they have a lot of effective doubleteams and they get better at them every day Three Weaknesses: Slooooooooooow Stamina - they’re big muscle guys who run out of wind quickly Ego - are prone to big upsets because they think they’re the best tag team walking the world Profile(History of your character): TBD! |

Character Name: Johnson Blackwell Height: 6'4 Weight: 380 Hometown: San Francisco, CA Physical Description: Big fat guy... I wouldn't say orca fat... but fat enough that he won't be moving very well. Black hair shaved down very short with a wild goatee/moustache Face/heel/?: ??? Manager [if applicable]: Theme Music: Ring Entrance [please write in cut/paste form]: Wrestler Type [brawler/high flyer/etc]: Power brawler What real-life wrestler is your character similar to in the ring?: VAAAADER! Finisher [normal finisher; the move your guy uses in the standard match to wrap things up]: Powerbomb Murderdeathkill Finisher [the finisher that your character will only use in the absolute most desperate of situations; no one's getting up from this]: Top rope moonsault Signature Moves [no more than 5 please] Other moves [10-25] 1- Corner avalanche splash 2- Elbowdrop [regular and middle rope] 3- Legdrop [regular and middle rope] 4- Powerslam [standing/running, Oklahoma Stampede] 5- Second rope butt drop 6- Headbutt 7- Double hand elevated choke 8- Doctor bomb 9- Chokeslam 10 - Corner attack Three Strengths: 1- Size He's huge, dammit... HUUUUGE! 2- Power He's strong, dammit... STRONNNNNG! 3- Agile Um... well, he's fat... but he's surprisingly agile for it. He's not your typical plodding fat man wrestler. Three Weaknesses: 1- Injury prone With that much weight, he's prone to coming up hurt in the knees/ankles. 2- Conditioning He won't be working sixty minute iron man matches, that's for damn sure. 3- Speed You know the saying "Slow but steady wins the race"? Well, he'd better hope so. Profile(History of your character): Johnson is an ex-linebacker from USC who dropped out due to a bad knee injury that took him out for his entire junior year. Trying to keep his head above water, he took work as a bouncer at several bars. While honing his streetfighting skills there, he wandered into the Mixed Martial Arts rings... where another knee injury took him down after a short period. He found himself knocking on the M-Dojo door, trying to find a way to stay afloat. Todd Michaelson was responsible for his early training but his attempts to break into PWR were a bust when he was injured yet again. Now trying to recover from a THIRD knee surgery, Blackwell has been given an opportunity by the AWA to try to prove himself worthy of a roster spot. |
