You mean the indy non-draw Mark Langseth? Fighting Spirit almost went bankrupt after breaking the bank for that box office bomb!

Say what? Last month he main evented in what will probably win Match of the Year, on what will probably win Event of the Year!

I'm slowly coming to grips with the fact that Juan Skywalker has been lost to the Dark Side.

I prefer written review, but I prefer audio review to none at all.

I blame Petrow for that huge, shocking, unseen, unpredicted, blindsiding, improbable, jawdropping, mindboggling Rumble result.

You honestly think Blue will go with a Monosso/Wright Superclash main event, when Langseth/Monosso is there for the taking? :spam:

There are so many damned threads in that whole storyline it's ridiculous. Watkins knocking Donovan out of the tournament (bet your ass I'm mentioning my own thread first, nyah), the Vasquez seeming-turn, Dufresne showing back up, Royalty seeming to prepare for a reformation, the Sultan STILL sitting on a contract for a match with anyone, certain characters never getting their National Title matches (cough :D ), James Monosso TURNING FACE at the end of the tournament, Watkins ensuring Monosso's ability to compete throughout the night...

It's fucking crazy! Sorry for using the f word there, but it's pretty awesome how many different storylines went into the tournament and how many of them are going to probably have a chance to flourish still coming out of it. Kudos to everybody involved, big kudos to the folks who made it to the final four, and the biggest kudos to Jer and to Blue.

Also, Homecomiiiiiiing.

Yeah...as an unannounced partcipant. Meanwhile, Supreme Wright was announced as being in that match MONTHS ahead of time. We know who really put asses in those seats! :spam:

And he failed to win that Rumble because Langseth was in it. Therefore, Langseth > AWA. QED!

Darn it Blue you told me #22! :boxing:

Anyway, all good things must come to an end. The King of the Battle Royals gimmick was a ton of fun! Now to come up with something neat for post-BST stuff!

I am thrilled to have won the title. Thank you to everybody.

It was a very memorable card, and the tournament was a lot of fun. The only regret was that the Rumble got lost in the shuffle because by that point Blue was probably running on the fumes of his fumes, but that is perfectly understandable.

Now I have to decide what direction to go with all of this.

Yes, me and Jeremy have to decide which direction to take the 394 characters we handle in the federation.

We will combine them into invincible monsters and destroy the world.

"Violence" Juan Wright Jones vs. "Raving Sultan" James Nenshou

Did I miss anyone?

(including anyone I run?)

We have our World champ! Congrats, Jer. Was kept guessing right until the end there.

Really enjoyed reading Stevie/Wright, happy with any result for this one. I suspect I don't completely "get" the Sultan yet, if he's more than simply a tribute character. Did he just make it into the semis so Monosso could deliver the '83 Hogan counter and finish? That was wicked, btw. :)

Rumble was sweet, very well booked with all the classic rumble spots. Sorry Rob, but Donovan's fate after being abandoned by "Unreliable Ally" Glenn Hudson made me laugh out loud, all things considered.

Down the last five, was thinking it would end with Vasquez, Nenshou and Wright, with Vasquez "accidentally" eliminating the other two simultaneously to win the Rumble, then Monosso beating Stevie in the final. Then between now and SuperClash, Childes trying everything to stop the match or to swap Nenshou for Vasquez (with Dufresne as the dangling carrot).

Once the Unholy Aliance were out, Wright became my Rumble favourite. That put Stevie ahead in my mind against Monosso to set up a rematch from earlier that night.

Now it's all over, I don't know what to make of Monosso/Wright yet but can't fault any part of it. Monosso had the best storyline along the way, imo. Stevie did the hard yards and needed to be in the final. Wright was the dark horse of the tournament and I would've totally believed it if he'd gone all the way and pulled it off (if only to mess with those keeping one eye on Vasquez at all times). If the brackets were different though and Monosso ran out of steam, I would've picked Stevie over Wright in the final. :)

As for Petrow's challenge? I need to get back to the old cards, but from the strength of the roster coming out of this tournament it seem to me Langseth isn't even required for the SuperClash main event to kick arse. Having Cooper qua Royalty rep sort of fade from the foreground towards the end of the tournament allowed the other storylines some extra air (which was a good thing). To leave Langseth's return any later though may have even risked him needing to catch up, so I think now is the best time for it.

All in all, great stuff. Well done Chris and everyone.

I did think it was pretty funny that, as a result of my own idea, I eliminated my own character from the Rumble...

CONSPIRACY!

So now that I've read the entire show...

Great stuff! A fan of Monosso for sure now. Bigger fan of Stevie Scott as well. Still think the Supreme Wright big push is a big strange, but I do get why it's happening.

My one concern, if any, was the tag title match. It was overshadowed by pretty much everything on the show. I think the tag division really needs it's own focus and coulda been left off to main event Homecoming or something instead. Still a good match, just, to me, got lost on the show.

The tag title match was a match that was originally supposed to happen about two months ago, but then the whole Lynch thing threw things out of whack and we had to extend it to BST. So yeah...we were running out of ideas near the end of that angle. lol

And I'm glad one person gets why the Wright push is happening...because I sure don't!

Honestly, as much love as Juan Vasquez gets throughout the game (and rightfully so), I feel like from a pure reader standpoint, I love Supreme Wright a whole lot more. Terry's done a serious kick-ass job with him, and to me, if this were an RP-only league, Wright deserved to win. Not sure if that's what played into Blue's decision-making process, but I was thrilled to see him continue on and was definitely rooting for him by the end.

All that said, the show was awesome. I think many of us have felt for a long time like Monosso deserved to wear the big gold, but wasn't sure how it could happen and still "make sense". It makes sense now, and he went through the craziest path of perhaps anyone I can remember in e-w to get there.

Great show, all around.
