I'm pleased to see that we've managed to garner a little bit of interest in a match between a manager and a staff character. |

I'm a little disappointed to see Team Sharif vs Royalty so low on the list. When we spun Watkins/Petrow off into its own thing, I wondered if it might suck a little of the heat off of that... now I'm fearing it may have done exactly that. Also surprised to see Craven/Martinez not drawing much interest. |

I was the other vote. So many things could happen as fallout of the outcome of this match that could affect the entire AWA. That's why I picked it. |

"Destruction of Hell" start playing as Mason drop the mic and exit the ring as fans throw stuffs at him but he punch out most of the fans even children. | |

Well, I wish we got to vote for three. You also run into the problem that there's a lot of really cool matches and then you have one match that has ten different handlers associated with it so that's gonna suck a few voters into that. Too bad we couldn't rank the matches in order of how much we want to see them, that'd draw some fun results. |

All right, due to popular demand -- or Blue just saying "go for it!" -- I'm going to rank the matches in order of how bad I want to see them and why! 11. The Rave vs. Gaines/Martinez This match has the least amount of heat behind it but on the other hand it does have a nice bonus prize. I tried to pimp Antons/Longhorn Riders for this match just because they did a nice job setting up some hatred during the cycle over their finisher and what not. I wish we had a flash packet for SuperClash because this by any counts could be a promo show stealer with all the handlers that are involved in it. 10. BVB/SDW vs The Aces Ten through 7 are actually pretty interchangeable for me, however I personally just don't know much about the Aces for this to compete with many of the marquee matches. I was always a huge BVB mark, Rog's stuff with him and the Invasion in UWF back in the day and am praying he's sticking around. I'm also hoping we get a glimpse of the fireball. SDW is a terrific character to me (even if he's not my favorite Blue character... TWB, Soup Bone, Taylor, etc!) but the character itself is very entertaining and he just really fits the AWA era. 9. MAMMOTH Maximus vs. Giant Aso Man, this was hard to put here because following BST I would say this was one of the matches I was most looking forward too. I think the name change kind of turned me off (I've stated before I wish the moniker of "MAMMOTH" was on the line for this match resulting in the name change after SCIV) and that's a petty reason to be honest! The battle of Mammoth/Giant seemed really exciting until we ended up with a Ladder Match, Barbed Wire Match, and Retirement match on the show. Still... I think it'll be a solid read and just goes to show you how stacked this card is. 8. Juan Vasquez vs. Calisto Dufresne There was a time and a place where this would be number 1. I don't feel the hated or rivalry as much as I did in the past and it kind of got lost in the midst of some of the bigger feuds going on. I think these two could pull off that hatred that just goes on for over a year with a big match thrown into the mix here and there so I hope it's not the blow off. The star power in it, especially from within the AWA circle, is huge... so again, just a matter of more interest at this time in some other angles. 7. Bishop Boys vs. Lynch/Donovan I really wanted to be more into this as I love tag team wrestling but the feud was a bit too hot/cold for me at times as the hatred would be there one show and not even mentioned the following week. This would have been the PERFECT show to throw Violence Unlimited into the mix for a rare triple threat match with it being a heavily stipulated show in Los Angeles. Man... that'd bump this up to top three for me. VU...where you have gone?! 6. Steal the Spotlight From a very bias point of view this is number one as I only have one active character in e-w at the moment and he's in this match! However... from a reader/fan perspective I just can't bring myself to rank it higher than the remaining matches that are so damn cool. However, I will not be bummed if this turns into a Hardyz/Dudleys/Edge&Christian type of chaotic match that jump starts a few careers! 5. William Craven vs. Alex Martinez Man...I can't believe this is fifth on my list. When it was announced it was an instant mark out moment... even if I felt goaded into thinking "CB" was going to choose a Killing Box stip haha...VERY wishful thinking. The real, and only reason, it's number 5 is because the feud itself has been really Craven vs. CB with A-Mart nowhere to be found. Do I think this might be the match of the show? Well... I'd be shocked if after SuperClash when we talk about best matches of the show if it fell to 5. Really..shocked. 4. Joe Petrow vs. Jim Watkins I just feel like something crazy is going to happen. John said it best, "so many things could happen as a fallout of the outcome". Petrow going bananas last show was great, and I'm hoping JP struts out the IIWF title around his waist for good measure! I have my guesses as to whom will win, but I have no idea what is going to happen from bell to bell which makes this really exciting. Anyone.. I mean ANYONE could turn up during this thing. Ok... the next three... are basically interchangeable to me. 3. James Monosso vs. Supreme Wright. I'm almost shocked that I put it here, but really it comes down to me thinking that Monosso is going to retain. Could Wright carry the title and the fed? Yes, and yes. His stuff has been supreme since the Madfox match...I mean it really turned on from that point for me. At the end of the day though, it's makeshift face vs. face and I don't really feel that one character wants to kill the other... at least not as much as some of the others want too. Monosso's promos are always a pleasant surprise to me as Jer comes up with the strangest storylines each and every show. It's very title match deserving. I could very easily see Eric Preston costing Wright the match sparking a great... and I mean GREAT feud between those two. Seriously... Wright/Preston would be killer... throw in Todd Michaelson as a special guest referee and you've got a headliner for next PPV! 2. Dave Bryant vs. Glenn Hudson These two really have put in the time and effort to make this a tremendous feud. From destroying the title (which... has to be hanging in a suitcase, right?). I'm glad Blue just mentioned how excited he was to write this following their last set of promos because both handlers deserve it. This has been really fun to follow and ladder match worthy to me. I love the oldschool characters involved, the history, and everything about it. Can't wait to read this. Which only leaves... 1. Team Sharif vs. Royalty Where in the hell is Stevie Scott?! SuperClash would not be complete without him and I noted before in the preview thread, it wouldn't surprise me if he showed up on either time. I'm excited to see Langseth back in action, I've been marking for Dave Cooper since I came back onto the e-w scene, and although Sharif's accent in promos drives me nuts...he's a phenomenal throwback character. Toss in Supernova and the remaining mystery partner (or two) and you've got a recipe for something awesome. My main curiosity is will it be an AWA character showing up... or possibly one of the many PVW/UWF characters left without anything to do as of late. I would just go crazy from a booking standpoint and have this turn into more than three on three with multiple shocking appearances. It really does feel like the "show of the year" with how stacked this line-up is. I can't wait to read every word of it. |

I think it's the result of loading big stips on the Petrow/Watkins match, but not doing the same for Sharif/Royalty. It's a big match with big names (and some intrigue for the unknown ones), but maybe a simple Sharif/Langseth match for control of the National Title would have hadan easier time gaining emotional involvement. |

It's funny you mention you just don't know much about the Aces. You sprang to mind when trying to decide what to do for SC promos, Guzz. I ended up doing one laying how this match came about for people who may not have been in the fed the past few years. |
