One of my favorite features of the old PWI Year End issues was the predictions section. Some people would go serious with it, some people would go for the comedy. All were entertaining. Have at it, people. |

Under new management, MAMMOTH finds the success that has eluded him under Louie Matsui. Juan Vasquez battles a crisis of confidence, as the "Vasquez Sucks!" chants grow in volume. William Craven is revealed to _not_ be the real Dragon, and the story carries over into 2013. Chris Blue's daughter instigates a proxy fight to take over control of the company, leading AWA booking in a far more infantile direction. Alex Martinez finally dies from his numerous injuries, yet still appears on the following show to beg for a match. Due to a seemingly insignificant upset victory by BC Da Masta MC over Dick Bass, The Rave are obliterated from existence. |

1. AWA moves to World title status. 2. Juan Vasquez will get less than 3 title shots the entire year. 3. Rob Donovan loses the LH title, moves to National title status, and the LH Title bounces around for a while. 4. Gordon Myers is replaced by Jason Dane at the announce desk. 5. Caleb Temple has a go 'round in the AWA, and strangely works. 6. Jeremy will at some point feud with himself over the National title. 7. Calisto DuFresne will lose the National title somewhat unceremoniously. 8. The Lynches will not hold the titles for long. |

Oddly enough, the one I hope doesn't come true is the World Title one. I always felt moving to a "World" Title ruined RCW. In fact, if you insist on having a World Title, at some point, you should use the PCW World Title as a way to explain prolonged absences, rather than "injury" which seems to be your favorite excuse for a why a guy is gone a bit. If he's traveling the world defending the PCW Title, that's at least something different... |

That's interesting. Not saying I'm considering going from the National Title to a World Title or not but how did going to a World Title ruin RCW in your opinion? In what way? |

Because Dan Kauffman won it. ![]() Otherwise, RCW came back later on and did just fine with the world title. |

Well, sure, the Kauffman thing didn't help. But what had made RCW special in my opinion up to that point was that it was a regional fed, that had that kind of old time feel about it. When RCW went to "World" title, it became like everyone else. There was nothing distinguishing it from UWF, or EMWC, or whoever else was around at the time. Though that might also have been due to the fact that everyone was in every fed. Except Kauffman ![]() I'm probably biased, though, since I've always preferred the regional type fed over the national/world-wide ones. Most feds, once they go to "World" title, also begin "world tours" which was always a headache for me because of certain logical fallacies that were produced by it. Such as, you've been strictly an American product, maybe syndicated around the country for years, but probably not well known outside the USA/Canada. But now, you have a "World" title, you go on tour, and are playing to packed houses. Because, you know, having the "World" title means everyone knows who you are in the e-wrestling mindset. Forget that you've never been there before, and don't get a lot of exposure in the market. Somehow, these people just couldn't stay away. The NWC used to do that. You had this alliance of regional feds that were concentrated exclusively in the United States (seemed every time they admitted a regional from someplace else, it quickly died.) but EVERY PPV/Supercard was held in places like England, and Japan. It's ridiculous. Don't be ridiculous

Mark Stone did this in the WWO before the 2001 reopening. After that, the fed reopened it stayed in the US with the "World" Title. Also, PVW is doing a pretty good job of doing this as well (except that Shattered Dreams that took place in the UK). |

RCW closed for about a year after the Kauffman debacle, at which point, the in-character owners opened up South Pacific Wrestling which really did tour around various international locales. Then when RCW reopened, it was because whoever in-character(I forget) wanted to reopen RCW and bought out SPW...which had established a "worldwide" following. Never held a card outside the US after that, though. There. Well known international exposure. Now shut up, Murphy.
