So I have a much younger brother who is having trouble with writing in school. He's a senior in high school and needs an outlet for practice and improvement. I'm going to try to get him going in e-wrestling, being a manager for him so that I can edit and feedback his writing. Exposure to good writers and a topic he likes should be a big help, I am hoping. AWA would be ideal because he can exist in his own little sphere for a bit, dealing with squashes and JTTSes before trying to work an angle with someone. Have any of you heard of e-w or similar hobby being used as a teaching tool? Any advice? |

To start with... Can he handle (constructive) criticism? Is he willing to work with other people outside of you once he wants to stretch past squashes/JTTSes? Is he able to not take things like wins/losses too personally? |
| And here's where I pretend to be a writer... | |

I know that Jim Jividen and his younger brother Joe co-handled Creed in the early days of the IIWF, but I don't know if that was for teaching purposes or just family bonding. I think that this could help improve creative writing skills, but not sure how helpful it would be towards, say, writing a term paper... |

- He's going to have to, since I'll be the one giving it to him. - Once he gets a look at the cooperative nature of the game, that won't be a problem. - That won't be an issue. He's not bitterly hypercompetitive. He once stretched out a game of Catan for thirty minutes despite being able to win on any turn, because he'd rather have fun playing than winning. |

I say bring him on. E-w helped me as a writer when I was younger and though it distracted me from school on many occasions I definitely benefited from surrounding myself with people who wrote exceptionally better than I did. |
