03/28/12 NOTE: The roster is all full for this cycle but if you're interested please shoot propositions and applications and there may be spots open in the future. ====================================================================== Fantastic Fight Network Presents... ![]() ====================================================================== Table Of Contents ====================================================================== I. New Wave Pro Wrestling Application XI. New Wave Pro Wrestling Strat Form XII. Famous Last Words ====================================================================== I. What Is This? ====================================================================== Kayfabe: The Fantastic Fight Network (FFN) starts a new project, New Wave Pro Wrestling, that tours mostly the North Eastern states initially. FFN is trying to conquer the wrestling world with an exciting family friendly new promotion offering an entertaining variety of wrestling and superstars! OOC: Hola, this is 'Dro! I have been wanting to do something like this for a while now and feel it is time! Basically this is a summary style fed with one show a month that is aiming for sort of a 1980's WWF style w/ a touch of international flavor! Looking for a roster on the smaller size, 12-16 handlers, with a variety of characters and definite heels and faces. We're going for an easy schedule with a show that is a comfortable and easy size for anyone to read and enjoy! Hopefully fun will be had by all! ====================================================================== II. What Are The Shows and how often are the shows? ====================================================================== New Wave Pro Wrestling will have one show a month with two off months, June & December. So 10 shows a year. The basic lay out will be four regular shows and then a super card to blow off all the feuds and storylines built up. As to why June & December are the off months: June-International Football tournaments. I am useless to you in June! December-Holidays. We're all busy and could use the month off! The regular show will be called "Revolution" and the supercard will have different names, pretty much guaranteed to be named after various 80's songs. I can tell you that the 1st supercard will be called "A Night Like This". While talking about the shows let me mention that the matchwriting on the shows will be in summary style. Squashes & undercard matches will feature smaller sized summary matches and the main event will feature bigger summary write ups. Supercards will have bigger write ups all the way around. And there will be a roster of jobbers for folks to use for squashing because I definitely believe in building up characters through squash matches. Main events & any non-squash undercard matches on "Revolution" will be tag team and/or multi-man tag matches because I want to save the one on one matches for the Super Cards to really build up anticipation for them and to make the one on one matches special. ====================================================================== III. What Kinds Of Characters Do You Want and/or Don't Want? ====================================================================== I am looking for a variety of characters. I want definite heels and definite faces, absolutely NO tweeners. I very much want battles of good vs evil. For this reason we need pretty much an even & equal number of heels and faces constantly in the fed. I want everyone to always have a feud and/or story going on every cycle so this is why we will always have to have equal number of heels and faces. So at times availability for spots in the fed may fluctuate depending on this factor. Also, at the start I am only looking for male singles wrestlers. There will only be one title initially with no tag team division. We might add a tag team division after a year or so but initially I want to keep things as simple and easy to manage as possible and singles only will be much easier to deal with. Will also only allow one character per handler. If a tag division comes in the future then handlers can have 1 singles and 1 tag team but for now, just one char per handler. As for what I decidedly do NOT want in the fed, besides tweeners... No hardcore/extreme/deathmatch types. I don't want ANY extreme stuff in this at all. I don't even want table spots. Chair shots and bleeding will be kept to as bare a minimum as possible, saved for really important matches and/or moments. Also, I want gimmicks and characters that will be kind of PG oriented. No drug addicts/pornstars/racists etc. ====================================================================== IV. What About Promos & Oncards? When and How Many Do I Have To Do? ====================================================================== The idea is to have one show a month with promos airing before matches and what have you. So no RP show, just promos that would be on a regular show. I would prefer either backstage or studio set promos that are kept somewhat on the briefer side to help make this an easier read all the way around but am open to other situations maybe once a cycle. As for oncards, I know we have to have oncards for advancing angles and feuds and what have you. I only ask that like with promos, a sense of brevity is preferred because we don't want shows that are massive in size due to promos and oncards with small summary style matchwriting in between. The more all elements are streamlined the better the shows will read. If needed folks can have up to two on cards on a show. One special circumstance, that will make sense in a little bit, on the 1st supercard, "A Night Like This", every character will need to do TWO promos: 1 for their feud blowoff and 1 for.. Well VI will have the answers there! There will also be a "Twitter feed" thread on JTF for New Wave Pro Wrestling that I will archive every month. It is totally optional but it will be a fun little extra thing for everyone to make fake tweets and comments and have fun with! Also, one VERY important note about promos: ABSOLUTELY NO CURSING! Not even censored cursing. I want things kept somewhat PG oriented, so no cursing whatsoever. I will send promos with cursing and/or censored cursing back for being redone. And if the handler doesn't edit that part, then I will rewrite that bit and you never know what you will get in that circumstance! If you have a question about if a word is OK, just ask me and I will let you know. ====================================================================== V. What About Strats? ====================================================================== Strats will definitely be welcomed and encouraged BUT I am going to be a stickler about this with no exceptions: All strats must be done with the New Wave Strat Form. I will provide the strat form in this FAQ and all strats must be done with it. Any strats not done w/ it will NOT be used. YES, it will not be used. The strat form makes it easier for me to keep things brief and to fit in everyone's ideas on the shows. It makes my life & enjoyment easier and thus will make your life & enjoyment easier! ====================================================================== VI. Will There Be Championships? ====================================================================== Yes! At the start we will have one title: New Wave Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. Initially this will be the only title in the fed. It will be decided in a Rumble that will headline the first Supercard, "A Night Like This". This title will only be defended and fought over on Supercards. In the future more titles may be added to the fed, but initially just the one. ====================================================================== VII. Who Are The On-Air Non Wrestling Personalities & Staff? ====================================================================== First off, no Boss figurehead in New Wave Pro Wrestling! Decisions will be made by the FFN Board of Directors and/or the Championship Committee. So no General Manager Authority Figure for people to drum up angles with. We're going old school baby! But we do have some commentators, a ring announcer and some reporters! Charles "Chuck" Morgan, from the CL Memorial Cup shows and before that from the FFN Critics Corners Review shows, is the face commentator! Roy Harper, also from the CL Memorial Cup shows and also from the FFN Critics Corners shows, is the heel commentator! Marvin Bloom, father of Girl Fight's Valerie Bloom, is the very handsome ring announcer! There will be three different reporters but they will switch off, show to show, in terms of who will be available for doing the show. Don't worry, I will tell you on the updates which reporter is available for the next show, etc. But they are: Todd Banks, known as ReporterTodd_FFN on the FFN Twitter Feed, who is famous for having a weak stomach for spicy foods (in case anyone needs to do hijinks with him). Julie Statler, known as ReporterJulie_FFN on the FFN Twitter Feed. Walt Garrison, known as ReporterWalt_FFN on the FFN Twitter Feed, and is something of a super fan so he will come in handy if people need someone super nerdy and knowledgeable on wrestling history stuff for their bits. There are no plans to have specific referee characters since it's all in summary and the less you have to take away from the wrestling and stories going on in it the better. ====================================================================== VIII. How Will Booking Be Decided? ====================================================================== This will be done in a few ways with several things in mind. For me what is best for the story/angle/feud should always come first in most booking decisions, especially in concern to the build up. So if two handlers work out a rough outline with feedback from me on it, the build up on the regular shows should be pretty easy to figure out. But I know the main question is about the blow offs. If the two handlers both come up with a blow off finish that they agree to and feel very strongly about I will respect their wishes and go with their idea if it is in the best interest of the story/angle/fed. If the two handlers don't want to decide the feud blow off and ask me for a direct competitive decision then I will compare the promos throughout the entire cycle and make my decision based off that. If the two handlers don't want to decide and don't ask for a direct competition outcome then what is best for the feud/story/angle/fed will be my main consideration. But I am open to all kind of ideas and ways in this area and none of this will be set in stone. Every angle and situation will probably have it's own unique way of deciding the outcomes. The main thing will be having fun and having fairly logical booking. I will say, in advance, in regards to the Rumble to determine the 1st New Wave Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion on "A Night Like This" it will be decided solely on who does the best promo regarding the Rumble w/ some extra points for who had the best body of work promo wise that cycle. So that will probably be the most stark promo vs promo situation in the fed, at least initially. ====================================================================== IX. How Do I Join? ====================================================================== Why you just fill out the application below and send it to: texanspaniard@yahoo.com OR if you have an application from somewhere else that you are already happy with or an app form from somewhere else that you prefer then you can send that in. It should be fine! ALSO be sure to join the FFN Yahoo Group at.. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/fantasticfightnetwork/ ..Because shows and news will be posted through there first (though all will be posted here on JTF as well obviously). But yes, join the FFN Yahoo Group to be up on stuff! But hey, let's get to the Application and the Strat form and get this shindig moving! I am hoping for a roster of around 12-16 characters so if you are interested please get in touch with me sooner rather than later and if a spot isn't available initially, stay in touch because spots can open up as things go on! ====================================================================== X. Famous Last Words ====================================================================== That should about cover everything! I think this can be a lot of fun and at one show a month, 10 shows a year, this should be easy for us to keep this going! So fill out an app or send an old one in and let's make this happen! Thanks for reading, I really appreciate it, and adios! - 'Dro ====================================================================== ©2013 FFN |
