[Masterson slowly raises his head, shaking it back and forth.  He opens his mouth...

...and the feed abruptly cuts to static.

After a few moments, the screen goes black before we fade back up on a
series of beach shots - a pair of young children building a sandcastle, young
men out on their surfboards, a spirited game of volleyball with shapely
young ladies... you get the idea.

A voiceover begins.]

Anyone else get suckered into thinking that this was The Wise Men cutting in? :(

Loved the twist at the end of the show. Poor Percy's past comes back to bite him... and help him, all at the same time. :-D

- I know there was much debate over pushing The Rave up the card due to the whole comedy bit, but can we at least move them up slowly? Joe's been doing awesome work with them and, comedy or not, I'd love to see them have a program with a team that's not a known JTTS or flunky team.

- Line of the night right here...

AG: No, I'm certifiably awesome!

Alphonse Green continues to impress.

- Not quite sure how I feel about the whole deal with Chris Blue (the character of course!) and the Wise Men. I think the storyline is good, but the darkish way that it's unfolding...I dunno. Feels like that fits better in the E than in the A.

- That said, I really do like how Preston/Monosso came full circle. Great storytelling.

- The Layton appearance at the end was a surprise.

Not arguing that last point but... wouldn't that make sense considering the players involved so far?

Yes and no.

Yes, it makes sense in that those (Preston excluded) are former E characters. But no in that it still doesn't (to me anyway) feel like it fits what the A is about. It's less old-school and more ECW shock value. Or that's how I see it anyway.

Like I said, the storyline is solid. It's just the execution that doesn't fit.

Of course, I could be the only one who sees it that way.

Well, it stands out because it is one of the few things on the show that is NOT in line with how the AWA handles business, and there's a place for that when done correctly.

Wrestling is a circus, there's something for everyone. If you don't like the juggling clowns, there's the acrobats, the fire swallowers and the midgets in the car.

I think that analogy works better in e-w than real wrestling. I stopped watching (new) wrestling because I was tired of only getting 3 segments that appealed to me on a 2 hour show. In e-w I can skim what I don't like and that diversity is absolutely needed.

I think the problem with the Wise Men angle is that it's hard for me to see where things are going with it and if whoever is behind it really should get treated as a face. The Wise Men are supposedly targeting Royalty yet come off as using nWo-type tactics.

Yes, Royalty is supposed to be their own men and against everyone, but you would think whoever became their chief rivals would either be faces or heels set to turn face (Skywalker Jones, perhaps?).

The fact that you can't see where it is going is "the problem" with the angle? :D
