I made an executive decision this week to replace a few departing bodies on the roster...

...with the return of I MAKE 'EM, YOU TAKE 'EM!

<CUE BIG POP!>

Now, the thing that's going to be a little different about this one is we're going to feature ten characters on the list. Five of them will be brand new characters never before offered up as I Make 'Em, You Take 'Em characters.

The other five? An I Make 'Em greatest hits! I will go back into the I Make 'Em history - including characters who've been taken and abandoned - and come up with the five characters I most want to see taken.

Sooooooo... in the days (or longer) to come before this list goes up, I'd like to find out two groups of characters from you guys.

1) I Make 'Em characters from the past that you'd like to see get another shot
2) New character ideas you'd like to see put into the I Make 'Em

Proceed!

Five from the past:

1. Scotty Mayhem: I second Petrow's motion.
2. War Pigs: Blue already mentioned them in the MDM thread.
3. Michael Mason Jr.: I'd really like to see somebody make the Ricky Steamboat homage work.
4. Captain Joe Flint: Why not try the super patriot? Could form a tag team with Clayton Shaw.
5. Ebola Zaire: Just because it's time for him to make another appearance.

Five new homages to consider:

1. A Flyin' Brian homage -- could tear down the house with Skywalker Jones! (Note: I'm thinking of Brian Pillman from Stampede days and early WCW, not his later heel runs.)
2. A Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin homage. Not anything like his Freebird days (although he could be a Beale Street Bullies ally) but more like the arrogant pretty boy, complete with valet.
3. A Roddy Piper homage. Really, we need one, as difficult as it may be to pull off his promo style.
4. A Jerry Lawler homage. As in, The King gimmick, the guy who could do either smart aleck heel or the face who means business, and who pulls down the strap when he has had enough.
5. An Eddie Guerrero homage. I look more at his days as the "rudo heel" but the wisecracking Latino babyface could work.

Really, Bob? You're going to ask for a wisecracking Latino babyface? Really?

I second the return of Rex Summers.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Curt Hennig homage either.

It's not like we have any of those around now...

5 Existing: really need to see your old list! So I will also use JTTSes since I don't think there's a place to see your unused characters.
- War Pigs
- Northern Lights
- Yuma Weaver
- MISTER Oliver Strickland
- Mr. Sadisuto

5 New:
Homages of
- Jake Roberts
- The Mountie (half-comedy half-serious evil cop)
- Greg Valentine
- Jesse Ventura
- A masked character who is neither a luchadore or a famous wrestler under a mask.

BONUS CHOICE FOR TERRY: Al Perez (MOAR SNARKY LATINOS)

Interestingly enough, I was listening to Colt's podcast with Demolition Smash this week thinking that Mr. Sadisuto becoming a Mr. Fuji-esque manager would be the AWESOMEZ.

- Jake Roberts

I think most of e-wrestling has been trying to come up with a Jake Roberts homage at some point in our lives, and it hasn't been successful. Jake Roberts would be a character I would not ask for an homage to, because that's not a character you can just pick up and RP with. As cheesy as it sounds, that's something you just have to have within you.

I thought Juan was supposed to be Hulk Hogan.

Or are Juan, Stevie and Kinsey going to come out to "We Lie, We Cheat, We Steal"?

Returns: Summers, Ricky Royal, Gary Bright, Russians (what?)...

Ironically I had wanted Mayhem in the Shane Gang when it first started but he was the only one that didn't get the go ahead.

Random Homages: Dino Bravo/Earthquake/Jimmy Hart combo, Jimmy Snuka, Bad, News Brown, Big Boss Man

Mason needs a makeover, I don't care for the name.

Randy Dreadnought
Billie Mackinaw
Tommy Schooner

And yes I just used various boat names for last names!

Any other suggestions for this? I'm going to start putting the list together over the next couple of days.

Good fun faces. Faces that can cut fun promos. Heels are very strong right now; we need faces that people want to play as.

Put Vernon Riley on there, and the War Pigs.

Homages that could work with this include:
- Jimmy Snuka
- Jerry Lawler
- Brian Pillman
- Brutus Beefcake (no, really, he was actually decent in his prime)
- DDP (past the target time range but he'd fit)

And you know what could be interesting? Make a homage of a heel and change his alignment. Imagine a face version of Bad News Brown who was a supertough street vigilante, trusting noone but doing what he thought was right (brutal but fair). Or a face Terry Funk who is middle aged and crazy, and ready to give back to the sport that gave him everything. Or a face Stan Hansen who acts more like a John Wayne character: a mean veteran who nonetheless has gained a conscience and wisdom.
