I'm still biding my time for the Adrian Adonis/Adrian Street homage.

I was going to put one in the mix but since you'd mentioned this before, I decided not to. The pressure is on, sir!

I'll put up some more since I didn't get a chance during the day...

DOWNFALL (MAD DOG & TANK)
After a failed attempt to make an impact as a wrestler, Mr. Sadisuto has searched the world for two of the toughest unknown wrestlers he could find to take the tag team division by storm. A complete makeover followed with slicked back hair, facepaint, and wicked attitudes to round out the trio.

THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER
This mysterious competitor’s identity is a secret - although according to him, most would never recognize him if they saw him. He holds a secret - something terrible that happened early in his career - that he believes has tainted his given name for life. To escape that life and get a fresh start, he has taken on a new identity and a new purpose for his career - to find a way to forgive himself for his past.

THE CANADIAN CONNECTION
Led by manager Wally Porter, this union of strongman Harris Cotton and the super-heavyweight Trauma is sure to make an instant impact upon the AWA tag team division with their overwhelming combination of size and strength.

JEFF JAGGER
Another casualty of the post-World Title Tournament talent cuts, Jeff Jagger looks to get back to his dream of making it in the AWA in 2013. This kid from the Carolinas who grew up idolizing Jeff Matthews and Caleb Temple hopes that his Carolina Clutch sleeperhold and artistry on the mat will be enough to catch the eye of the Talent Relations office.

ROCK BRADLEY
A former bodybuilder, Bradley would be better suited for an age where the size of a man’s muscles directly correlated to the size of his contract but in an era where talent is treasured, Bradley has had difficulty making an impact. He has toiled about on the American independent scene for years, becoming a YouTube fan favorite for his wild, nonsensical promos. His success on the Internet got him noticed in Japan where he spent the last two years becoming one of the top gaijins in the Land of the Rising Sun. Having honed his craft into something respectable, Bradley hopes to come back home and engulf the AWA in a storm of ROCK RAGE!

YUMA WEAVER
A now-longtime member of the AWA undercard, Yuma Weaver has spent several months revisiting the Combat Corner and gearing up to make 2013 his best year ever.

SUPER SOLAR
The latest in a line of lucha libre stars hoping to break into the United States, Solar brings to the table a breathtaking array of aerial moves and one the most colorful ring attire/masks on record.

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
That popular duo of AWA mainstays, Rene Rousseau and Chris Choisnet, missed out on a trip to the Stampede Cup and have made the 2014 Cup their first goal. But to get there, they’ve got a long year of improving as a tag team ahead of them to crack the top level of the AWA tag team division.

GARY BRIGHT
Former bodybuilder Gary Bright has been out of the AWA for quite a while as the Gold Bomber spent some time touring Europe and Asia for various promotions. Bright contacted AWA officials in late 2012 in hopes of an early ’13 return but an arm injury sidelined him until now. Can the Gold Bomber break through the label of “future star”?

THE HANGMAN
This “dead man walkin’” is the embodiment of dark justice. Big, powerful, and seemingly indestructible, The Hangman walks the streets of the AWA dragging his trademark noose behind him and carrying an aura of intimidation sure to shake even the toughest AWA superstar down to his boots.

YUMMY YUMA WEAVER

After being touched in his sleep by Hymencia, the Cherokee goddess of feminity, Yuma Weaver has embraced his inner woman, and has returned to the AWA with Lady Pocahontus to take what he wants from the AWA's manliest competitors.

One more batch before sleep...

CURT SAWYER
Curt Sawyer was happy living his life as the owner and bartender of the Rusty Spur saloon in downtown Dallas, just down the street from the Crockett Coliseum. But with a fifth child on the way and a fat wife to feed, Sawyer is looking to pick up some extra cash. Carrying his wooden axehandle “equalizer”, this former Navy Seal’s gritty toughness and “walking tall” attitude is sure to win over the fans as he looks for the next big paycheck.

ELI SLATER
Known throughout the wrestling business as one of the last true lone wolves, Slater’s duplicitous nature has made him one of the most popular and one of the most hated wrestlers at different times. “Never trust Eli Slater” is a common phrase in locker rooms wherever he travels but his devastating finishing maneuver piles up victories over both friends and foes alike.

RICKY ROYAL
The Ragin’ Rebel has been out of the AWA for several years now due to some bad blood between himself and the front office but after all this time, it appears as though time has healed those wounds and Royal is ready to come back to the promotion that seemed prepared to make him a superstar. Still as rough and tumble as ever, can Royal win back the fans who supported him so strongly only to see him walk away?

VERNON RILEY
The blue collar everyman has seen quite some time go by since a broken leg sidelined him from AWA action. In the time since, he went home to Florida and helped the AWA expand their territory into the area. Many also believed that Riley was instrumental in getting the AWA involved in the proposed Sunshine State Wrestling promotion that went under before it got started. Now, Riley has tired of working outside of the ring and wants to get back inside the squared circle. One of the most popular men in AWA history could have an immediate impact upon returning.

"TEENAGE DREAM" AARON MICHAELS
Hailing from "Every Young Girl's Dream," Aaron Michaels is the kind of kid that makes you want to slap him across the face... mostly because he's as good as he thinks he is. Good-looking with a physique the girls drool over, Michaels also sports incredible athleticism inside the squared circle including a picture perfect flying elbow off the top and the Trendsetter DDT that has really made him a sea of fans in the front office.

Is this the same Hangman who terrorized the IIWF in 1996-1997?

So Jimmy Thunder is essentially the Taskmaster from Marvel Comics? That's....kinda cool actually.

I've been thinking about this.

This character should totally be a Taskmaster homage/expy. (The Marvel character, not Kevin Sullivan.) He has photographic reflexes, and decides that the best way to make a ton of money is to teach other people his (everyone's) moves. So he opens a wrestling school and comes to the AWA specifically to pimp his wrestling school. That means he attacks the concept of the Combat Corner, saying that it is "useless" and "inferior". This is an automatic angle against any and all Combat Corner grads. And he brings in some students; we see his teaching style is like John Kreese (which lets Blue make even more Karate Kid references).

...I want to run this but I don't even run the characters I already have! D:

Anyway, any time you can homage a comic book character and it totally fits, you pretty much have to do it.

Leave it to Jer to take what was supposed to be a feel good babyface into a dastardly heel!

Last batch, folks!

"JUMPIN' JOHNNY SKYE
Regarded as one of the best high flyers on the indy scene, Skye has been wowing crowds from coast to coast for quite some time. Racking up the YouTube views, his matches and highlight reels are the stuff of Internet legend. Now he comes to the AWA ready to challenge the sport's elite and become the TRUE Human Highlight Reel.

PORTER CROWLEY
One of the strangest men you'll ever encounter, Porter Crowley has an obsession inside the ring. Your face. Crowley has always been concerned about his looks and has received mocking chants of "PRETTY PORTER!" from the fans for years. As a result, he's dedicated his career - and his unique offense - towards mangling the face of anyone he gets into the ring with. You think he's ugly? Wait til he gets done with you.

MARTY WATTERS
The proverbial white meat babyface, Watters has wrestled throughout the South for several years. He's right in the middle ground between being a "young lion" and a veteran but just hasn't found the spark to break into the big leagues. In late 2012, he found that spark when, in a late night impulse, he signed up for karate classes to round out the striking part of his game. Couple that new-found martial arts skill with a toning of his physique which has allowed him to take on some high flying tendencies and even some power moves and Watters seems ready to blow up.

ROY DANIELS
In a time when many potential professional wrestlers are going that route of becoming a Mixed Martial Artist instead, Roy Daniels is an MMA superstar who is looking to break into the world of pro wrestling. The colorful and controversial Daniels has fought all over the world - and even been able to complete in the Japanese pro wrestling leagues on a few occasions - but is starting to age and wearing down from the life of MMA. A lifetime fan of pro wrestling, Daniels believes that his trashtalking ways coupled with his natural charisma and athleticism should be able to bring him to the next level in his career.

"REGAL" RICKY REED
The protege of former Mid-South Wrestling superstar, Robert Royale? Check. Multi-time champion throughout the South? Check. One of the most popular wrestlers not signed to a major company? Check. The self-professed "King Of Professional Wrestling?" Check. With a resume like that, how could Ricky Reed not be in the AWA already? Rumors of ego problems and locker room drama following him wherever he goes probably plays heavily into it but the man who claims to be the "best you've never seen" says he's ready to make 2013 a truly "regal" year for the AWA.

BRODY
A last second add to the list, Brody has been unstoppable since arriving in the AWA and seems to be on a sure-fire collision course with the equally massive Hercules Hammonds. Brody could be the “next big thing”... can you deal with the man looking to make everyone “just another victim?”

SOLOMON SHOCK
Formerly one-half of the tag team known as Shock And Awe, Solomon Shock has broken off on his own to try and make an impact in the singles division. The perfect blend of power and agility, Solomon can throw opponents around and dive off the ropes onto them in the same match. This youthful powerhouse is a potential superstar in the right hands.

After more thought and pondering, here are my Top 15 favorites that I'd like to see people attempt...

COLT MAHONEY
Ever heard the stories of wrestlers who worked the carnival circuit, inviting the fans into the ring to try and fight with them? That's Colt Mahoney. In one of the last touring carnivals in Europe to practice such a thing, Mahoney has reigned supreme for the last six years. He's a master of submission skills and bare-knuckled brawling and has an armbar that will finish anyone he locks it on that has earned him the nickname "The Armbar Assassin" amongst his peers.

JIMMY THUNDER
Growing up as a boy in the late 90s, Jimmy Davis got to see the sport in its glory days, falling in love with names like Kowalski, James, Hardin, and especially Brody Thunder. Upon graduating high school, Jimmy immediately went to wrestling school where it was discovered that his photographic memory somehow translated into a skill where he could mimic almost any move he saw - and since he has an extensive collection of tapes from the IIWF, EMWC, and LWC (among others), he has seen a lot of classic competitors in action. Now, Jimmy has adopted the surname of his favorite wrestler and is ready to make his debut.

"SCORCHIN" SHANE TAYLOR
The younger brother of the Outlaw, Shane has never really had a chance to catch on anywhere and not be in his big brother's shadow. But with Bobby apparently (finally?) retired from in-ring action, Shane is coming back to the AWA for the run he's never gotten. With the lovely Kandi Kane by his side, Shane brings his cigs, wifebeater tank top, and Black Beauty studded leather glove back to the AWA.

ALEXANDER KINGSLEY III
The richest man to ever lace a pair of boots, AK3's AWA stint was cut short by a serious neck injury. Now recovered, he is looking to get back inside the squared circle to show that he has as much talent as he does money in his bank account. With his manservant by his side, the former student of Mister Oliver Strickland believes there's nothing that his money can't buy and no one his talent can't beat.

"BUNKHOUSE" BOBBY O'CONNOR
The grandson of AWA President Karl O'Connor, Bobby has been one of the most popular competitors in the Kansas City area for the past few years. Forsaking his grandfather's sweet science for a brawling style, O'Connor has been in some of the bloodiest brawls the state has ever seen. His forehead is a mass of scar tissue and seemingly can open up at any moment but he is adored by the fans for his everyman attitude and incredible heart.

“GOLDEN” GRANT CARTER
Carter began his career in the world of wrestling as a manager and a middle of the pack manager at that. He has experience managing singles and tags but none to any level of success. Getting up there in years, Carter has decided to use his physical talents and try stepping in the ring himself. Todd Michaelson initially refused to put Carter in the Combat Corner due to his age but Carter’s determination eventually won the Head Trainer over as did his natural gift for the game. As Carter sets out for his rookie year in the business at the age of 36, he hopes to turn that determination and natural talent into success.

“RED HOT” REX SUMMERS
A former holder of the AWA Longhorn Heritage Title, Summers was rocked by back-to-back losses to Glenn Hudson and the disappearance of his manager, Ben Waterson, and disappeared as well shortly after. Many in the front office believed this former PCW competitor was headed for future superstardom before this downhill stretch of his career and are enthusiastic as the master of the Heat Check DDT makes his return in 2013.

THE WAR PIGS
If you ran a survey in Japan to find the best gaijin tag team, it would be a close result between Violence Unlimited and The War Pigs. However, the War Pigs have been unable to translate that overseas success into similar success here in the States. Their impressive physiques and power moves make them favorites of the front office but everyone’s waiting for that potential to become a reality.

BARRY DOUGLAS
A 20-year old kid, Douglas was on the fast track to a career in the National Football League when a draft day concern about a test score dropped him drastically. Although the allegation was later proved false, the damage to his reputation was done. Never one to hang his head, Douglas has shifted gears, entering the Combat Corner where his raw athleticism and big heart has earned high praise from instructors. Douglas has earned big points with the front office by saying he hopes to be a hero to the kids who follow the AWA and a role model that they can look up to.
