I'm going to make one final plea for my FAVE FIVE that haven't been picked up yet.

COLT MAHONEY
Ever heard the stories of wrestlers who worked the carnival circuit, inviting the fans into the ring to try and fight with them? That's Colt Mahoney. In one of the last touring carnivals in Europe to practice such a thing, Mahoney has reigned supreme for the last six years. He's a master of submission skills and bare-knuckled brawling and has an armbar that will finish anyone he locks it on that has earned him the nickname "The Armbar Assassin" amongst his peers.
PICTURE: Finlay, William Regal, maybe even some MMA influence. The ultimate tough guy who just wants to stand and fight. I'd like to debut him at Opportunity Knocks if someone has the interest... I have a plan!

JIMMY THUNDER
Growing up as a boy in the late 90s, Jimmy Davis got to see the sport in its glory days, falling in love with names like Kowalski, James, Hardin, and especially Brody Thunder. Upon graduating high school, Jimmy immediately went to wrestling school where it was discovered that his photographic memory somehow translated into a skill where he could mimic almost any move he saw - and since he has an extensive collection of tapes from the IIWF, EMWC, and LWC (among others), he has seen a lot of classic competitors in action. Now, Jimmy has adopted the surname of his favorite wrestler and is ready to make his debut.
PICTURE: This should be the lovable loser gimmick... guys like 1-2-3 Kid or Mikey Whipwreck who win by overcoming all the odds. This is perfect for you e-w trivia geeks out there.

ROCK BRADLEY
A former bodybuilder, Bradley would be better suited for an age where the size of a man’s muscles directly correlated to the size of his contract but in an era where talent is treasured, Bradley has had difficulty making an impact. He has toiled about on the American independent scene for years, becoming a YouTube fan favorite for his wild, nonsensical promos. His success on the Internet got him noticed in Japan where he spent the last two years becoming one of the top gaijins in the Land of the Rising Sun. Having honed his craft into something respectable, Bradley hopes to come back home and engulf the AWA in a storm of ROCK RAGE!
PICTURE: Apparently I wasn't clear enough when I wrote this up but this should be the Hogan 80s coked up promo king talking about body slamming people hard enough to break sections of land off into the sea... or maybe the Ultimate Warrior and talking to the Gods.

CURT SAWYER
Curt Sawyer was happy living his life as the owner and bartender of the Rusty Spur saloon in downtown Dallas, just down the street from the Crockett Coliseum. But with a fifth child on the way and a fat wife to feed, Sawyer is looking to pick up some extra cash. Carrying his wooden axehandle “equalizer”, this former Navy Seal’s gritty toughness and “walking tall” attitude is sure to win over the fans as he looks for the next big paycheck.
PICTURE: Think Mid-South Jim Duggan... maybe some Stan Hansen mixed in. The everyman blue collar brawler who is just trying to make a living. You can even mix in some Dusty Rhodes or DDP style "peoples champion" moments with this one.

ELI SLATER
Known throughout the wrestling business as one of the last true lone wolves, Slater’s duplicitous nature has made him one of the most popular and one of the most hated wrestlers at different times. “Never trust Eli Slater” is a common phrase in locker rooms wherever he travels but his devastating finishing maneuver piles up victories over both friends and foes alike.
PICTURE: This would be your Jake Roberts. I don't need a snake for this one... just the attitude. The rest will come, I think. You can also mix in elements of Bruiser Brody or Cactus Jack or Roddy Piper or Bad News Brown into this one. I think this one could be big in the right hands.

As Ryback has become Cryback, I suppose Brody is now Broody?

I think the Snuka problem is that part of his popularity in that era derived from being the only guy in the company who was doing top rope moves and over the top dives in a time when people were marveling at that. If you take that away from him, what's left?

Totally late to this discussion, but whatever.

I think Snuka could be made to work. Just, not the drugged out, murdering wonder from the mid to late 80's WWF.

Take this guy:

Watch him as a heel in Mid Atlantic, teaming with Brody in Japan, and as a heel in early WWF when he feuded with Backlund, and you have a great kernel of an idea.

Crazy islander. Built like the proverbial brick shithouse. Not an "insane moves" high flyer, but a maniac who'll throw his giant body off the top rope, or off the top of a cage to finish you off. But only after he's torn you to bloody shreds.

I think that could work.

Of course, he'd need a manager. And eventually, the fans would come to love him, and he could be closer to the late period Superfly.

But I think you need to start where Snuka started, as a scary bastard with wild eyes and hair.

Didn't I say not to tempt me?

Though between this and Eli Slater, I have ideas.

Having shoved Ron Houston on the world three or four times now. I think you've all suffered enough by my hand.

Slater is intrguing though.. Having went a year with just this iPhone after my comp crashed.. I'm not even positive I could write anymore anyway. Although I did just get keypad for our iPad...
