Are you ready?

I said... ARE?! YOU?! READY?!

No, seriously... are you ready? 'Cause this is a long one. You should grab something to eat... take a piss break... put on some music... something. You're going to be here a while.

And a lot of stuff happens... I mean, a lot... you should probably take notes or something.

Okay, well... don't say I didn't warn you.

Enjoy!

You kept that match in, but not Stevie vs Dufresne?

This was indeed a jam-packed show, almost to the detriment of some of those bigger moments potentially getting lost. I liked everything, but I thought the placement of some of the segments felt a little off, especially the last segment. You have a CRAZY main event... then an important, but kind of long announcement... then a SECOND "musical" segment to end things. No disrespect to those characters, but it didn't feel as important as a lot of what had come before.

Carver/Shane or the brawl culminating in Skywalker Jones' decision felt like big moments to end a 100th show on, but that's just me.

Excellent work overall, as always.

Langseth/Ortez was 5 rounds of circling each other. VFC owes me a refund.

I took that out because a Stevie/Dufresne title match is a really big deal and shouldn't be used as a throwaway for a commercial. Supernova/Dufresne would still sell DVDs but wouldn't be quite on the same level in terms of historical value.

There's a couple of points in this I want to address...

First, I agree that the concert going after the Main Event was a little odd but considering the significance of the piledriver, I didn't like the idea of running it somewhere else. I actually bumped the piledriver off Unholy War because I didn't like it not closing the show.

Second, I was thinking a lot about the "jampackedness" of the show while putting the finishing touches on it... and also while listening to Jim Cornette on the MLW podcast. While I typically just kinda let everyone run whatever angle they feel the need to run on each show, I'm starting to wonder if the shows are suffering for that... if there's just too much going on for any of it to mean anything. I bumped one match from this show for that reason but kept most of the angles.

Do you guys like the crazy jam-packed shows where lots of stuff happens or would you prefer I keep a stronger grip on the reins and limit the amount of big angles going on?

It's not so much a like/dislike as a matter of necessity. With the "indies fed" thing being in vogue, this is the only place in town to run a lot of NWA/WWF type angles. If people were to save everything for proper pacing, it would be several months before people got to do their stuff.

I agree with Joe on the necessity. Plus, in truth, e-wrestling has always been this way.

I, for one, am fine with it as it is. At no point reading this card did I say, "OH NO THERE IS TOO MUCH GOOD STUFF HAPPENING". It doesn't matter if it's not realistic to what a real-life wrestling fan can keep up with. E-wrestling is a completely different medium with completely different context. It should homage the source material while being true to itself.

Also, if you look back at our history, nothing has really changed. You naturally get superpacked shows, light shows, and everything in between. Everyone is always launching something after a major event, so this is normal. No need to sweat it.

I enjoyed the show: do not fix what is not broken.

I guess my larger point wasn't so much there was too much going on, but more-so the placement.

Wanting to save the piledriver spot to close a show makes sense given AWA's old school feel, but honestly, after the Texas Death Match, it didn't seem as horrific as everything Carver/Shane went through. On any other show, it might've resonated more. And again, personally, I thought other segments felt more like main-event level feuds/angles. I'm not 100% up to speed on the Bullies/Lynch feud, but it feels like the 3rd or 4th angle from the top... or am I completely missing something?

Don't change anything on account of me. I'm just always interested in pacing and placement, especially since you had mentioned how you were waiting on certain segments, and I wondered if that altered the final order.

I for one, am shocked that Blue let so many "The Beale Street Bullies are gangbanging Sunshine" references slip through.
