There have been some dumb and insulting ideas in E-Wrestling. But the one that I'm still embarassed to remember was on an EMWC PPV, between Super Scott and someone else (I've forgotten his opponent; sadly, I still remember the match). It was a 'Vagina' match- yes, a wrestling match inside a vagina. (I want to say it was in 1999 or 2000, but I might be wrong)

It actually wasn't a match- it was just a way to insult and mock another handler. That it was put on a PPV- especially one from EMWC- was stupid and tragic. I believe both handlers were asked to leave the fed after several handlers complained about the match.

It was dumb, it was embarassing, and it was only written to take potshots at someone. That's the best (worst) example of e-Wrestlecrap I can think of.

I must've missed this post. Looks like it might've come during one of my e-w breaks.

I'll give some backstory on this. It certainly won't explain it but it might shed more light on the situation. Now, this is all from the best of my recollection of something over ten years ago so I'll beg your mercy on being perfect with the details.

The match took place in March of 1999 at the Rumble In Sin City PPV and was billed as a Spin The Wheel match between Alex Rio and Super Scott. The two handlers had known each other for a while at that point and asked for the match, even offering to write it themselves. I agreed. They sent me the list of matches they were considering. Most of them were jokes - A Pissing Contest, A Match On The Moon. They had a few normal matches like a ladder match with Lamby hanging above the ring... I suppose that's MORE normal, at least. The Match Inside Erotic Erin's Vagina was on the list. I shook my head at it but it seemed like just a silly jab and I let it slide. I never dreamed they'd actually use that stip. They mentioned in passing that they were thinking about but... well, to say I overestimated their judgment would be an understatement, I guess.

So, when I got the match... there it was. They had it played as a cartoon... an animated segment... to explain HOW it happened.

Now, those who remember me from that period probably believed I put the match on the show because I was fully in favor of the mockery involved. I wasn't, I assure you. Not because I felt some moral obligation to defend Erin's honor or stand as the upholder of good taste but moreso, I just thought it was bad writing.

That said, there were two elements that got me to leave it on the show... both of which, in hindsight, were poor choices.

1) The match was already written and I felt bad about killing something that they had put effort into. Of course, I suppose you can debate how much effort was actually involved.

2) The Spin The Wheel match was billed and hyped for the PPV... and I felt we should deliver it.

So, it ran. I didn't feel great about it. I wasn't proud of it. But it ran.

And history will tell you that everyone hated it which just wasn't true. There was a decent amount of handlers who found it funny and entertaining. To each their own, right?

For the record, neither handler was asked to leave the fed. They just kinda saw the writing on the wall after getting ripped about it by so many vocal people - some of which weren't even in the fed. I think Eric stuck around a little while longer after that but Hibbs - who had plenty of heat with people anyways - didn't stick around much longer after - again, to my recollection.

Yes, it was dumb. Yes, it was embarrassing. I'm not sure about the potshots thing. To my knowledge, Eric and Hibbs were just doing something they thought was funny. Eric was a very easy-going guy and never struck me as the type who would try to maliciously attack someone. Hibbs on the other hand... perhaps.

However, as much as people like to complain about that match, I have to point out that Erin herself became a handler in the fed AFTER this incident went down so apparently she didn't hold any grudges over it or at least decided to get past them.

So, there you have it.

I like it! Take it one step further... in the name of gender equality, we should open this up to all forms of genitalia.

Master of the Cock Ring, anyone?

ps - Yes, I did that just for the dick joke. Aren't you glad I'm back?
