Charleston based Mid-Atlantic Wrestling has acquired 51% of the shares of the Superstar Wrestling League from Executive Producer Doc Brown following the out of court settlement between KDC-77 and Brown. Mid-Atlantic Wrestling has a long history, it's first show ran by Darryl Valentine at the Norfolk Coliseum in 1979 and has stayed in the Valentine family to this day, currently ran by Darryl's grandson Tom Valentine. It's weekly Saturday morning television show 'Mid-Atlantic Wrestling TV' can be seen in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania and is known for being one of the most exciting in the country with top wrestling superstars such as The Ferdinand Brothers, 'Smooth' Jimbo Parker and current North American Champion Rip Slater. It is not known what the Valentine family wish to do now they own a controlling stake in Superstar Wrestling League which currently has no television slot or any wrestlers on active contracts. Mid-Atlantic Wrestling have struggled to get a foothold in North Carolina, where Superstar Wrestling League is based. They have had several television affiliates there over the years but never been able to regularly draw or make any meaningful gains. |
