Doran doesn't run Dufresne, though...so we don't have to worry about random 3 month sabbaticals whenever he suddenly thinks he has to be an adult.

And I think this might be the year we finally do that 20 man tag team match!

I promise you, I will not try to be an adult for at least five more years.

Scott/Vasquez seems pretty easy to set up. Their egos will naturally implode after being around one another so much. I like the idea of them going into the match as allies when they are forced to face each other.

Imagine Scott wins the Rumble (because Terry can't win it two years in a row!) and Monosso or whomever is the champ. Scott/Monosso are feuding and building up to the match and Vasquez intervenes repeatedly forcing Monosso to call out Vasquez for butting in...Vasquez refuses until Monosso says he'll even put his title on the line...to which Vasquez accepts and we have the first awkward moment between Scott/Vasquez, with Stevie being confused as to why he would take the match. Monosso is winning during the match and Scott interferes in a way in which you aren't really sure if he's helping Vasquez or not but it leads to Vasquez stealing a win and the title. Scott is still the number 1 contender but suddenly Vasquez as the title a week or two before SuperClash, they're still allies, etc.

Match happens. It starts off fair and honest with the two putting on a great display of talent and gradually the antics and cheating ways of both men start to come into play..it builds and builds with each becoming more so desperate to win that they can't help but to show their true colors of doing anything necessary to win. Eventually one of them blatantly screws the other out of the win. They can either shake on it after knowing full well that, "hey, that's just the kind of people we are, we knew that from the get go" or run with it into a blood/hate feud rematch at the next PPV.

If we still want Scott/Vasquez III:

Vasquez and pals win WarGames, but their celebration is cut short by Royalty, who attack the weary team, focusing on Vasquez and Stevie. Percy calls the UA away, wanting no part of it, once again failing to take a stand against Royalty.

Now both Vasquez and Stevie want a shot at Dufresne, and Dufresne uses this to play them against each other: making them fight each other for the right, having Royalty interfere so they never get a winner. Eventually either Vasquez or Stevie relents and lets the other have first shot at Dufresne. Let's say Vasquez. Again, Royalty get involved and the match ends inconclusively, with a beatdown on Stevie. Vasquez is nowhere to be found. Later, Dufresne throws Vasquez a bone, giving him a shot at what Stevie failed to do. Again, Royalty get involved, but Stevie runs in to even things out, only he ends up costing Vasquez the match. Vasquez accuses Stevie of only looking out for Stevie and the alliance implodes.

Royalty look stronger than ever and with UA licking their wounds, suddenly the only stable that seems capable of matching their gang warfare tactics is the Shane Gang (Let's say they go over Carver, Rage and the Rave; maybe in a second WarGames match even). TS3 remains a threat because of his Rumble win and the Ring Workers can be built up to be strong contenders for the tag titles. Question is, is the fed ready for heel vs. heel as the main event of Super Clash V?

In the meantime, Supreme Wright continues to be built up as a no-nonsense technical prodigy. He's still got a shot at the World title, but manages to fly under Royalty's radar because he's a loner. If heel vs. heel won't work for Super Clash, maybe Wright-Dufresne would, with TS3 waiting in the wings to take on whoever comes out as champion?

Of course, there's also the Wise Men/Wise Man angle to take into account, assuming you have an endgame in mind already. If not, you could even have the Wise Man throw his lot behind the Shane Gang, a group of hungry young lions who are loyal to the company, with the numbers to go against Royalty.

I think it is a mistake to a) decide what main event we want until we're a bit closer and know who the "hot hands" are, and b) go with a match we've seen a billion times already as the main event. If Terry and John are angling for a SuperClash match, let's not have that be the main event because it has been done (a lot). If that's not what they want, and we're sort of projecting ideas onto them, let's not force it.

I think we work in new main eventers if at all possible. TS3, Skywalker Jones, whoever. At least one person in the main event ought to be new to the AWA main event. Or we'll get stuck having the same matches ad infinitum.

Dufresne challenges Walter Warren (AGAIN) to keep THE STREAK alive.

I honestly think the "hottest" thing is to find a way to make heel vs heel groups work, somehow. It looks to me like Juan/Stevie vs UA still has legs, which doesn't leave much time to build much of a storyline there with Dufresne, assuming he still has the title. Not sure what other face options are out there, at this point.

Don't be such a buzzkill! It's just for fun! Nobody's saying we're picking a Main Event right now... I just wanted to hear some suggestions for stuff. We're close enough now to be able to speculate a bit.

Although, I agree on the Vasquez/Stevie front.
