Syd Ryder v Everett de Sade --------------------------------------------- Zack Cobb: This match is scheduled for one fall, with a time of 20 minutes and is a Semi- Final contest in the Television Championship tournament. ['(Ghost) Riders In The Sky' by Johnny Cash starts play] Zack Cobb: Coming to the ring from Austin, Texas… [Syd Ryder walks through the curtain, maroon trunks, black boots and knee pads, he has a black leather waist coat on with the word 'Cowboy' on, he's wearing a large Stetson hat and carrying a bull rope and bell.] Zack Cobb: Weighing in at 260lbs… [Ryder lifts his hat up and waves it at the fans as he steps onto the apron, he takes a moment to look at the fans, soaking up the atmosphere.] Zack Cobb: 'THE COWBOY' SYD RYDER!! ["Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple] Zack Cobb: And his opponent, hailing from Santa Cruz, California… [Everett de Sade walks out, wearing black trunks, matching boots and pads. His fists taped.] Zack Cobb: Weighing in at 287lbs… [Everett ignores the fans as he slowly walks to the ring, his eyes focused on the large Japanese monster in the centre of the ring.] Zack Cobb: He is Everett de Sade! Dougie Wright: What a great four man tournament we have Marty, full of talent. These two men certainly will be favourites to win the Television Championship. Marty The Cabbie: de Sade was impressive last week and Ryder will have learned a lot from being in the main event, but he failed to revered after Andrus split his head up with a steal chair. [They tie up, battling for superior position in the centre of the ring, Ryder comes out with a wrist lock, yet as soon as its locked on de Sade quickly counters it into a hammerlock.] Dougie Wright: Some nice technical wrestling to start this one off. [Syd Ryder ducks down and behind de Sade countering the hold.] Marty The Cabbie: Both men feeling each other out here in the opening moments of this contest. [de Sade fires back, the back of his elbow connecting with the face of Ryder.] Dougie Wright: Elbow breaks the hold. Marty The Cabbie: Right in the mush! [de Sade hits another reverse elbow creating some distance between him and Ryder. He then sprints forwards into the ropes, bouncing off them he takes Ryder down with a big running tackle.] Dougie Wright: I wouldn't want to be standing in the way of 287lbs of de Sade charging at me. [de Sade hits the ropes to his right, bouncing off them Ryder rolls onto his front forcing de Sade to skip over him as he continues on across the ring into the ropes. Ryder gets back to his feet he turns to face de Sade, swinging a right hand but de Sade ducks and continues his trajectory across the ring once more.] Marty The Cabbie: Neither man able to connect. [de Sade comes off the ropes, Ryder tries to scoop him up for a body slam but de Sade slides down behind Ryder.] Dougie Wright: Ryder goes for a scoop slam but de Sade escapes. [Ryder shoots a single leg taking down de Sade.] Marty The Cabbie: He didn't see that one coming. [Ryder steps over the leg, grapvining it…] Dougie Wright: Figure four? [de Sade slides away and into the safety of the corner.] Marty The Cabbie: THe old figure four, many of Texan greats have used that move over the years to win matches. You don't see it around much these days but Ryder loves it. Dougie Wright: And Everett de Sade must know it, because he had that move scouted. [Syd Ryder pulls up de Sade and lights his chest up with a knife edge chop.] Marty The Cabbie: WAHOOOO! [Ryder with an Irish whip that sends de Sade crashing into the turnbuckle pads.] Dougie Wright: The Cowboy now going on the offensive. Marty The Cabbie: He needs to keep this tempo up, really take this match to Everett de Sade. [Ryder charges across the ring, but de Sade moves out of the corner and Ryder goes shoulder first into the turnbuckle post.] Dougie Wright: Ryder could have just separated his should there. Marty The Cabbie: de Sade was just that bit quicker than Ryder. [de Sade turns round Ryder, grabs him around the waist and bridges back, tossing Ryder into the air.] Dougie Wright: Big release over the head belly to belly suplex. Marty The Cabbie: He popped his hips and suplexed Ryder right out of his boots. [Ryder manages to get to his feet, still with one arm nursing his injured shoulder, he swings a big clothesline but de Sade ducks it and lands a sweet right hand between the eyes of Ryder.] Dougie Wright: What a punch. Marty The Cabbie: He won't get up from that quickly. [de Sade stands in the ring, lifting his arms in the air - taunting the SWL fans with his antics.] Dougie Wright: Last week Everett de Sade interjected himself in the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling North American Championship match and he's picked up where he left off because he's dominating the Cowboy Syd Ryder in this contest. Marty The Cabbie: I don't know what his business is with Rip Slater or Shawn Alexander Cage for that matter but I'm damn sure that de Sade has a one way ticket to the top. [Ryder is back on his feet, de Sade sends him across the ring with an Irish whip, Ryder grabs hold off the top rope and de Sade charges him.] Dougie Wright: LOW BRIDGE! [Ryder pulls the top rope down and de Sade topples out of the ring, although only as far as the apron.] Marty The Cabbie: This could be the opening Syd Ryder is looking for. [Ryder turns round and hits a big forearm smash on de Sade knocking him off the apron.] Dougie Wright: What physicality. [Ryder steps out of the ring and follows de Sade to ringside.] Marty The Cabbie: Both men need to watch the referee's count, if this ends in a double count out then the winner of the next match will be the new Television Champion. [Ryder pulls up de Sade and sends him into the guard railings - but de Sade holds on and reverses it.] Dougie Wright: Syd Ryder sent crashing into the guard railings. [de Sade rolls Ryder straight back into the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: Good work from Everett de Sade here, he knows he needs this contest back in the ring, it's the best chance he has of winning it. [de Sade follows Ryder back into the ring and drops down across Ryder's chest.] Dougie Wright: Lateral press… ONE … TWO … [Ryder kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: Everett de Sade just a split second away from heading into the final of Television Champion tournament. [de Sade locks on a reverse chin lock.] Dougie Wright: Sleeper hold now applied. Marty The Cabbie: No waisted motion from de Sade, always trying to ware down his opponent. [Ryder starts to fire up, he lands an elbow into the stomach of de Sade and he loosens the grip.] Dougie Wright: The fans getting behind Syd Ryder here, the noise is helping him try and escape this hold. [Ryder with another elbow and this time de Sade lets him go free.] Marty The Cabbie: He's free… [Ryder sends de Sade to the corner, but he counters it, Ryder charges out as fast as he hits the turnbuckle pads but de Sade bends over and throws Ryder high into the air.] Dougie Wright: Big back body drop. [de Sade drops down on Ryder, this time hooking the leg.] Marty The Cabbie: Cover… Dougie Wright: ONE … TWO [Ryder kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: He's getting closer. [de Sade locks on the reverse chin lock again.] Dougie Wright: And straight back to the sleeper. [Ryder drops to his knees, gasping for air, his body going lifeless.] Marty The Cabbie: Everett de Sade has put on a masterclass in this contest. [Ryder again starts to climb to his feet.] Dougie Wright: What has Syd Ryder got left in the locker. [With de Sade behind Ryder, Ryder rushes backwards squashing de Sade in the corner and he breaks the hold.] Marty The Cabbie: He's free… [Ryder hits a left hand, then a right, a big kick and de Sade is doubled over in the corner.] Dougie Wright: Ryder with the comeback, but I ask again, how much does he have left in his locker. Marty The Cabbie: He needs to stay on top of him, if he is going to have any hope of locking on that figure four leg lock. [Ryder with a big whip across the ring, he sprints across but BANG he eats a boot.] Dougie Wright: Everett de Sade got his boot up. Marty The Cabbie: That could have busted him wide open. [de Sade runs out of the corner and into the ropes to his left, as he comes off them Ryder takes him down with a right hand.] Dougie Wright: What a punch. [de Sade gets back up quickly, Ryder hooks his arm and head and takes him over.] Marty The Cabbie: Suplex now from Ryder. [de Sade once more gets to his feet, his legs getting heavier by the second as Ryder comes of the ropes and takes him down with a flying shoulder tackle.] Dougie Wright: COVER AND…. ONE … TWO [de Sade kicks out] Dougie Wright: I thought he had it there. Marty The Cabbie: What a turn of events that would have been. Dougie Wright: Syd Ryder now close to booking himself into the final of the Television Championship tournament. [Ryder grabs the legs of de Sade.] Marty The Cabbie: The Cowboy now looking for the figure four. [de Sade kicks him off, Ryder spins round as de Sade gets to his feet - he grabs Ryder's head and lifts him up before spiking him down on his head.] Dougie Wright: Blood Strained Brow DDT! Marty The Cabbie: It's over! [ONE] … [TWO] … Dougie Wright: THREE!! Zack Cobb: The winner of this match in a time of 14 minutes and 14 seconds… Everett de Sade! --------------------------------------------- 2. Jimbo Parker v Angus Andrus --------------------------------------------- Marty The Cabbie: I'll tell you know Dougie, Angus has what it takes not just tow in this tournament, but to go on and become a National champion. He has it all if you ask me. The ruthless streak, the lack of respect for his opponent and at times himself and of course, a great trademark move in that double undertook DDT. Dougie Wright: That 'Years of Frustration' DDT has been felt by many superstars already. Marty The Cabbie: Not just that, but while he's fairly inexperienced, he's picked up some great moves from his time in Mexico, he loves to go outside the ring and use a chair or two and while we've not seen it yet, he also has a great right hand punch to the face, that when he connects can finish matches. Dougie Wright: It's going to be interesting to see the mindset of Jimbo Parker, a much celebrated Mid-Atlantic wrestler who has not endeared himself to their officials as of late and has therefore found himself on a short three match tour down here in North Carolina. [Andrus and Parker start to circle each other in the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: He's their Television Champion and he's going to want to win this Television tournament as well. [Parker swings a left, Andrus ducks it and starts to unload on the body of Parker, pushing him back into the corner.] Dougie Wright: Parker the bigger man is being manhandled in the opening moments of this contest. [Andrus with punches and kicks as Parker fails to defend himself.] Marty The Cabbie: Parker unable to stop this relentless attack. [Andrus pulls Parker out of the corner and sends him across the ring into the ropes, Andrus swings for a clothesline but Parker ducks it and continues into the ropes.] Dougie Wright: Angus misses with the lariat. [Parker comes off the ropes and dives into Andrus, taking him off his feet.] Marty The Cabbie: Andrus is down. Dougie Wright: Big flying forearm from Parker. [Andrus rolls out of the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: Angus Andrus is going to try and get himself together after that move. [Parker doesn't hesitate in following him straight out of the ring, Andrus back-pedals and starts to run around the ring, Parker chases him.] Dougie Wright: Both men running around the ring now. [Andrus slides back into the ring, he hits the ropes as Parker climbs into the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: It's like a school yard game. [Parker swings a big line but Andrus ducks it, he continues into the ropes, bounces off and Parker tosses him high into the air.] Dougie Wright: Big backbody drop from the Mid-Atlantic Television Champion. Marty The Cabbie: He nearly touched the venue roof. [Parker drops down and hooks the leg.] Dougie Wright: Jimbo Parker looking to finish this one early…ONE … TWO [Andrus kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: I think it'll take more than that. Dougie Wright: Remember the winner of this contest will face Everett de Sade in the final of the Television Title tournament on the 26 December. Marty The Cabbie: What a match that will be, de Sade against either of these two. [Parker pulls up Andrus, but he rakes Parker's eyes.] Dougie Wright: Well that's one way of getting back. Marty The Cabbie: The referee's giving hims warning but he's never going to disqualify him for that. [Andrus hooks both of Parker's arms.] Dougie Wright: DDT already?! [Parker rushes Andrus back into the corner and he breaks the hold.] Marty The Cabbie: The Mid-Atlantic Television Champion had that one covered. [Parker hits a big right hand on Andrus.] Dougie Wright: Angus Andrus' head just rocked back after that punch. [Parker whips Andrus across the ring, sending him into the turnbuckle pads hard.] Marty The Cabbie: I wouldn't want to be in the way of this… [Parker runs across the ring and hits a big splash, squashing Andrus in the process. He grabs Andrus around the head and tosses him into the centre of the ring.] Dougie Wright: He's treating him like a rag doll. [Parker hits the ropes, jumps into the air…] Marty The Cabbie: LEG DROP! COULD THIS DO IT? [ONE] … [TWO] Dougie Wright: Kick out! Marty The Cabbie: Parker just a split second away from booking his place in the Television Title tournament final. [Parker sends Andrus to the ropes, he comes off them, Parker bends down for another back body drop.] Dougie Wright: Andrus smashes Jimbo Parker with a boot to the face. Marty The Cabbie: He managed to put the brakes on just in time. [Andrus grabs Parker round the neck and tosses him through the ropes to ringside.] Dougie Wright: Parker dumped to the outside. Marty The Cabbie: It's not like Angus Andrus to go for a count out win, I'm sure he'll have something up his sleeve. [Parker pulls himself up using the guard railings, Andrus runs across the ring, jumps over the top rope and lands on Parker.] Dougie Wright: SUICIDE DIVE TAKES BOTH MEN OUT! Marty The Cabbie: Angry Angus Andrus is never afraid to take a risk. [Angus rolls Parker back into the ring.] Dougie Wright: Angus could have ended himself here. [Andrus climbs onto the apron as Jim Parker gets to his feet. Parker hits Andrus with a right hand.] Marty The Cabbie: Andrus took too long getting back into the ring. [Parker grabs hold of the middle rope and goes to shoot his shoulder between the middle and top rope to hit Andrus in the gut. Andrus moves out the way and kicks Parker in the head.] Dougie Wright: Parker missed with that shoulder. [Parker stumbles back into the ring as Andrus pulls back on the top rope and launches himself into the air spring boarding, he lands on Parker's shoulders before flipping him over.] Marty The Cabbie: Nice lucha libre move! Dougie Wright: Angus pulls off a springboard huricarana. Marty The Cabbie: He picked that one up from his time south of the boarder. Dougie Wright: Great move indeed, and now he goes for the pin… ONE … TWO [Parker kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: What a match we're seeing here, both men giving it there all. [Angrus with an arm ringer on Parker before pulling him close in.] Dougie Wright: Angus goes for a side russian leg sweep. [Parker grabs hold of the top rope.] Marty The Cabbie: Jimbo Parker blocks it. [With the other arm, Parker hits Andrus with an elbow to the mid-section and he breaks the hold. Andrus takes a few steps back into the centre of the ring holding his stomach.] Dougie Wright: Parker using his ring awareness to prevent that move. [Parker scoops up Andrus onto his shoulder.] Marty The Cabbie: Andrus doesn't want to be up there. [Parker takes a step forward and drives himself and Andrus down the canvas.] Dougie Wright: BIG POWERSLAM! ONE … TWO [Andrus kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: One of Jimbo Parker's signature moves, he may be looking for his sit down spine buster, which he likes to finish off his opponents with. [Parker grabs Andrus around the head.] Dougie Wright: Looks like he's going for a bulldog. [Parker runs forward but Andrus pushes him off and breaks the hold.] Marty The Cabbie: Angry Angus escapes. [After the hold is broke, Parker turns and runs at Andrus who hooks his arms and bridges back.] Dougie Wright: Japanese Arm Drag! [Parker gets to his feet quickly, Andrus lifts him up and drops him crotch first down across his knee.] Marty The Cabbie: OUCH! Dougie Wright: Then an inverted atomic drop. Marty The Cabbie: Angus is on a real roll here. [Parker up, swings a right hand but Andrus ducks it and hooks Parker from behind, before bridging back.] Dougie Wright: German Suplex…. [ONE] … [TWO] … Marty The Cabbie: KICK OUT! Dougie Wright: That was really close. Marty The Cabbie: Great technique from Andrus to execute that move on the bigger man. [Parker struggles to get to his feet, Andrus sends him across the ring into the ropes, he bounces off them and takes Andrus down with a flying leg lariat.] Dougie Wright: JIMBO PARKER IS STILL IN THIS MATCH! Marty The Cabbie: He god damn nearly took his head off. [Parker hooks the leg] Dougie Wright: ONE … TWO [Andrus kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: NO! [Both men get back to their feet with their back to each other they turn round, Parker hits a right hand, then a second, he throws a third but Andrus ducks it, kicks Parker in the stomach and hooks both arms.] Dougie Wright: DOUBLE ARM DDT! Marty The Cabbie: That's it!!! That's it! It's over! [ONE] … [TWO] … [THREE!] Zack Cobb: The winner of this match, in a time of 13 minutes and 40 seconds, Angry Angus Andrus! --------------------------------------------- . Larry Mulligan, Shi Tsuyoki v Jeff Michales & Madhu Karna --------------------------------------------- [Tsuyoki goes to lock up but Karna kicks him in the stomach and pushes him back into the corner where he starts punching Tsuyoki in the stomach.] Dougie Wright: Two of the biggest athletes in SWL going toe to toe here. [Tsuyoki pushes Karana back into the ring and hits a big forearm, Karna reals back but then returns with a head but that drops Tsuyoki to his knees.] Marty The Cabbie: Nothing pretty about these two, pure physicality. [Karna lifts Tsuyoki up and slaps him across the face, Tsuyoki launches into a flurry of forearms, elbows and finishes with a big uppercut that sends Karna up against the ropes.] Dougie Wright: Neither man is able to gain the advantage with their offence at the moment. [Tsuyoki sends Karna across the ring with an Irish whip, Karna reverses it.] Marty The Cabbie: I'm surprised the ropes can take these two bouncing off them. [Karna hits Tsuyoki with a martial arts thrust to the throat that takes him down, he holds out his hand and tags in Jeff Michaels.] Dougie Wright: I didn't expect to see the Iranian Madman offering his hand for tags like that. Marty The Cabbie: He probably doesn't want much more of Shi Tsuyoki. [Michaels leaps over the top rope into the ring, he sends Tsuyoki to the corner but the move gets reversed. Michaels jumps on the middle rope and leaps backwards.] Dougie Wright: Asai cross body block…. ONE …. [Tsuyoki throws Michaels across the ring with his kick out.] Marty The Cabbie: I'm surprised he even got a one count. [Michaels gets to his feet quickly, he ducks a right hand and kicks Tusyoki's left knee, dropping him down to one.] Dougie Wright: Great tactics from Tsuyoki, take the big man down and that takes away his power. Marty The Cabbie: I thought I was here to offer an insight into people's strategies. [Michaels into the ropes, Tsuyoki gets back to his feet but Michaels takes him down with a spinning heel kick.] Dougie Wright: Right in the face. Marty The Cabbie: Tsuyoki looking in trouble here. [Michaels goes for an Irish whip, Tsuyoki reverses it and lifts Michaels up for a scoop slam before dropping him face first on the top turnbuckle pad.] Dougie Wright: Snake eyes from the Japanese superstar. [Tsuyoki holds his hand out for Larry Mulligan to tag himself in.] Marty The Cabbie: Mulligan is fresh, this is his first contribution to the contest. [Mulligan hits a headbut that sends Michaels back into the corner, he follows it up with a big haymaker for a left hand before lifting him up so he's sat on the top rope.] Dougie Wright: Not sure what Mulligan has up his sleeve here. [Mulligan climbs up and hooks Michaels as if he's going for a superplex.] Marty The Cabbie: This could be the end of the match if he hits this. [Michaels blocks it and throws a few weak punches into the stomach of Mulligan.] Dougie Wright: Michaels is sat on the top rope, fighting for his life. [Michaels pushes Mulligan off, he lands square in the middle of the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: I think Michaels would love to tag Madhu Karna in right now. [Mulligan slowly gets to his feet in the middle of the ring as Michaels dives off the top rope.] Dougie Wright: HE CAUGHT HIM! [Mulligan drops down, slamming Michaels across his knee in front of him.] Marty The Cabbie: Nasty back breaker. Dougie Wright: Michaels squirming around in pain [Mulligan goes for a cover] Dougie Wright: ONE … TWO Marty The Cabbie: He kicks out! Michaels and Karna are still in this one. [Mulligan tags in Tsuyoki.] Dougie Wright: The Buffalo enters the ring again. [Tsuyoki locks on a Full Nelson with Michaels sat in the centre of the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: Mulligan and Tsuyoki are cutting the ring in two, they don't want Michaels to be able to reach for the tag. Dougie Wright: That hold's doing so much damage right now surely? Marty The Cabbie: Look at how Shi Tsuyoki is leaning over Michaels, pushing his head towards while applying pressure to both shoulder joints. The Full Nelson is one of wrestling's oldest moves, but easily one of the most painful. [Michaels manages to fight to his feet.] Dougie Wright: The fans here getting behind Jeff Michaels, he's feeding off their energy right now. [Michaels pushes Tsuyoki back into the corner and he breaks the hold.] Marty The Cabbie: He needs to make the tag now. [Michaels drops down to all fours and starts to crawl across the ring towards his tag partner Madhu Karna.] Dougie Wright: Listen to the fans…they're willing Michaels on to make the tag. [Michaels holds out his hand, he's just a foot away from Karna.] Marty The Cabbie: So close, can he do it? [Tsuyoki runs out of the corner and knocks Karna down off the apron.] Dougie Wright: Shi Tsuyoki puts a halt to it. Marty The Cabbie: Great ring awareness, The Buffalo calling on all his experience there. [Tsuyoki lifts up Michaels and slams him down to the canvas.] Dougie Wright: And once again he goes back to the back. [Mulligan tags in] Marty The Cabbie: Again the tag team champions, quick to make the tags. [Mulligan pulls up Michaels and slams him down to the canvas again.] Dougie Wright: Big slam, after big slam. [Mulligan backs up in the corner, he runs out and jumps for a big elbow drop.] Marty The Cabbie: HE MISSED IT! Dougie Wright: Michaels rolled out the way, both men are down! [Michaels gets to his feet, Mulligan follows him a split second later.] Marty The Cabbie: Michaels needs to make a tag! [Mulligan swings a line, Michaels ducks it and dives at Karna, slapping his hand id mid-air.] Dougie Wright: THERE'S THE TAG! [Karna enters the ring, he charges into Mulligan, knocking him down with a big shoulder tackle. Mulligan tries to scramble to his feet as quickly as he can before Karna hits a martial arts thrust to the throat that drops him down to the canvas.] Marty The Cabbie: Karna is on fire! [Tsuyoki enters the ring, he runs into Karna drops him with a headbut.] Dougie Wright: He's taking no prisoners here. [Mulligan hits a forearm smash to the back of Karna, he spins him round and sends him across the ring, Karna holds onto the ropes, Mulligan charges him but gets sent over the top rope to ringside.] Marty The Cabbie: Big back body drop out of the ring. [Tsuyoki grabs Karna from behind as if he's going for a German suplex.] Dougie Wright: He's never going to hit that move on him. [Karna elbows Tsuyoki in the face.] Marty The Cabbie: The Buffalo just ate one in the face. [Tsuyoki turns round, Michaels who is now in the ring, Superkicks him straight in the face.] Dougie Wright: BIG SUPERKICK…are we going to see new Tag Team Champions? Marty The Cabbie: Who is the legal man? Dougie Wright: I think its Mulligan and Karna, but I'm not sure the referee knows. [At ringside Mulligan pulls Michaels out of the ring and sends him into the guard railings.] Marty The Cabbie: Tsuyoki is out cold. [Mulligan slides into the ring, Karna runs towards him and swings a line but Mulligan ducks it and hits the ropes, he comes off them and….] Dougie Wright: LLLLLLAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRIIIIIIAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!! Marty The Cabbie: ONE … TWO THREE!!! Dougie Wright: He just took the Madman's head off, and he's finally tasted a pinfall defeat in SWL. Zack Cobb: The winners of this match in a time of 12 minutes and 11 seconds, and still National Tag Team Champions… Larry Mulligan and Shi Tsuyoki! --------------------------------------------- 3. Shawn Alexander Cage v Tommy McMaster --------------------------------------------- [As McMaster steps into the ring, Cage cracks him with a big kick that sees him tumble off the apron.] Dougie Wright: Shawn Alexander Cage not even giving McMaster the time to get into the ring. [Cage pulls back on the top rope and launches himself out of the ring, landing on McMaster as he is halfway up to his feet.] Marty The Cabbie: We saw this last week, Cage is like a wild animal, as soon as the bell rings he wants to finish his opponent off as quickly as he cant. [Cage climbs onto the apron, the referee pleads with him to get back into the ring.] Dougie Wright: He didn't even wait for the bell in this match. [McMaster is back on his feet, Cage runs down the apron and dives at McMaster his knee connecting with McMaster's face.] Marty The Cabbie: He nearly took his head off with that diving knee. Dougie Wright: Shawn Alexander Cage loves to execute a running Basaiku knee, never seen it executed off the ring apron before though. [The referee gives up the count in the ring and climbs out, telling Cage to get the action into the squared circle. Cage ignores him, makes a little room for himself and summersaults, his legs landing across the throat of McMaster.] Marty The Cabbie: He's not giving Tommy McMaster a chance, the former National Champion, has barely been able to get to his feet. [Cage pulls McMaster up and throws him under the bottom rope and into the ring.] Dougie Wright: Finally they get back into the ring. Marty The Cabbie: Cage goes for a quick cover… ONE … TWO McMaster kicks out! [McMaster gets to his feet, he blocks a right hand and kicks Cage in the stomach. McMaster goes for an Irish whip, Cage holds on and pulls McMaster towards him, doubling him over with a kick before hooking his head.] Dougie Wright: Big Northern lights Bomb….ONE … TWO … [Cage pulls up McMaster and hooks both arms] Marty The Cabbie: Could he be going for his Requiem for a dream, undertook piledriver. [McMaster stands up, backdropping Cage.] Dougie Wright: He managed to escape, now the former National Champion needs to get on the front foot. [McMaster scoops up Cage, holding him across his chest before bridging back and throwing him across ring.] Marty The Cabbie: He just tossed him around like a piece of trash. Dougie Wright: Big fall away slam. [McMaster pulls Cage up, but Cage grabs the McMaster and pulls his shoulders down to the canvas.] Marty The Cabbie: Backslide….ONE … TWO [McMaster kicks out] Dougie Wright: Cage was just a split second quicker than his opponent there. [McMaster hits a right hand and Cage drops to the canvas, crawling backwards to the corner.] Marty The Cabbie: Tommy McMaster, the former National Champion, back on top though. Dougie Wright: What a great way to avenge his loss of the National Championship to Mr. Hyde that to win the Mid-Atlantic North American Championship. [McMaster hooks the left arm of Cage and then grapevines his leg, locking on an Abdominal stretch.] Marty The Cabbie: Nasty hold this, I just think McMaster should be a little closer to the middle of the ring. Dougie Wright: Shawn Alexander Cage, who shocked many winning the North American Championship last week is being asked by the referee if he wishes to give up. [Cage reaches out and manages to grab the ropes.] Marty The Cabbie: Rope break! [McMaster throws Cage's arm over his shoulder and lifts Cage up so he's sat on the top rope with his back to the ring] Dougie Wright: This doesn't look good for the North American champion. [McMaster climbs up so he's stood on the middle rope, he grabs McMaster and lifts him up, before they both fall back into the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: Big avalanche suplex! [Both men down in the ring.] Dougie Wright: Neither man is stirring form that. [The referee starts to count.] Marty The Cabbie: The first man to get to his feet here could have this match wrapped up. [Cage gets to his feet first, followed seconds later by McMaster. McMaster throws a clothesline but Cage ducks and hits the ropes, comes off them, spins and takes down McMaster with a big elbow smash.] Dougie Wright: ROARING ELBOW….! [McMaster isn't down long, getting to his feet before Cage has time for a cover. Cage then jumps, landing his legs on the shoulders of McMaster before flipping backwards.] Marty The Cabbie: Beautiful huricarana. [McMaster once again manages to roll to his feet, this time Cage kicks him in the stomach, hooks his leg and arm and throws them both backwards.] Dougie Wright: Side Russian leg sweep and cover….ONE … TWO … KICK OUT! [Cage can't believe McMaster was able to kick out, he asks the referee if it was a three count.] Marty The Cabbie: Shawn Alexander Cage should stop arguing with the referee and try and win this match. [Cage steps out onto the apron and quickly makes his way up to the top rope.] Dougie Wright: It looks like the Champion is going to go high risk. Marty The Cabbie: But will it pay off? [Cage dives backwards for a moonsault] Dougie Wright: NO! [McMaster is able to roll out of the way just in time.] Marty The Cabbie: Not a move you want to miss. [McMaster goes for a cover] Dougie Wright: ONE … TWO! [Cage kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: That was close, McMaster was nearly handed the victory because of Cage's mistake. [Tommy McMaster lifts up Cage onto his shoulders.] Dougie Wright: WING AND A PRAYER? [McMaster throws up Cage but he lands on his feet, hooks the head and leg of McMaster and rolls through.] Marty The Cabbie: Small package… ONE TWO … THREE!!! Zack Cobb: The winner of this match in a time of 9 minutes and 17 seconds, and still North American Champion… Shawn Alexander Cage! --------------------------------------------- 5. Mr. Hyde v Zombie Fred --------------------------------------------- [The lights dim and go out slowly. There are a few moments of complete darkness, giving rise to a couple of people to spark up their lighters. Just then Bach's "Mass in B Minor" begins to play out. The haunting classical selection gives rise to a pale blue light near the entrance. A man dressed in a full navy blue pinstripe business suit with a white dress shirt underneath and matching power tie is already there kneeling on one of his knees with the other leg in a bent position, his arms slowly rise to either side with his palms faced up. The man is wearing a navy blue and black full headed mask which does not give away any bit of his identity.] Zack Cobb: This match is scheduled for one fall…with a time limit of 15 minutes and is a non-title match! [He stands up as the music continues to flow out of the PA and begins to slowly make his way down towards the ring, his opponent for this evening is already in the ring waiting for him and does not seem all the impressed by the pomp and circumstance this entrance is filled with. Mr. Hyde carefully makes his way into the ring.] Zack Cobb: Coming to the ring from The Devil of the White City, Chicago, Illinois. At a weight of 225lbs… he is the reigning National Champion… Mr.Hyde! [The masked Mr. Hyde removes the Championship belt from around his waist and hands it to he referee.] Zack Cobb: His opponent, weighing 255lbs…Zombie Fred. [Zombie Fred, dressed in a Mummy outfit is standing on the other side of ht wring as Mr Hyde, carefully checks his mask, the referee calls for the bell.] Marty The Cabbie: I have, no idea how this man became the National Champion last week. Dougie Wright:I think it's pretty obvious, he's got some people that dress like him and they switch throughout the match, in the two previous times we've seen Mr. Hyde in action, he's done it both times and picked up the win. I don't think he can do anything on his own. [Fred cuts off Mr. Hyde as he goes to lock up. Fred hits him with a headbut and Mr Hyde goes back into the corner, cowering away from Zombie Fred.] Marty The Cabbie: Earlier tonight we heard what match maker Wilbur Courtney thought of the situation. Dougie Wright: That's right, he's given him a verbal warning and if he finds that he's done it again he'll take the matter further. Marty The Cabbie: It'll be interesting if he thinks he can defeat Zombie Fred hear tonight without the need of cheating. [Zombie Fred goes for an Irish whip, Mr Hyde runs across the ring and hits the turnbuckle pads hard. Fred follows him in but Hyde gets his boot up…BUT] Dougie Wright: The Zombie catches the boot, he telegraphed that one. [Fred pulls Mr Hyde out of the corner, his grip firm on the boot of Hyde. Fred spins Hyde around, hits a right hand and he drops to the canvas.] Marty The Cabbie: Zombie Fred is all over the Champion…. Dougie Wright: Zombie Fred isn't the most successful wrestler on the roster. Marty The Cabbie: If he got paid in laying on his back he'd be a millionaire. [Mr Hyde rolls out of the ring holding his face.] Dougie Wright: I don't think I've ever seen Zombie Fred go on the offensive like this before. [Zombie Fred follows Mr Hyde out of the ring, Hyde then scuttles under the apron and under the ring.] Marty The Cabbie: Where's he going? [Zombie Fred lifts up the ring apron fabric and is suddenly punched in the face, Mr Hyde storms out, with a flurry of left and rights.] Dougie Wright: Mr Hyde is all over Zombie Fred, it's like watching a world boxing champion. [Hyde tosses Zombie Fred into the ring with ease.] Marty The Cabbie: What's happening, he's totally turned this match around. [Mr Hyde picks up Zombie Fred and slams him down hard to the canvas, he then runs to the ropes before jumping into the air and dropping his knee across the head of Zombie Fred.] Dougie Wright: Big knee drop and cover….ONE … TWO … [Zombie Fred kicks out] Marty The Cabbie: I've never seen anyone make a comeback like this. Dougie Wright: Hang on…are you thinking what I'm thinking? Marty The Cabbie: You're thinking the Mr Hyde that came out from under the ring isn't exactly the one that went under it. Dougie Wright: Yes… he' pulled the old switch again. [Mr Hyde slides out of the ring, he gets really close to the announcers.] Marty The Cabbie: Don't get in our faces, win the damn match…Whoever you are. [The referee pauses from his count to briefly check on Zombie Fred who hasn't moved since his kick out. With the referee's back turned, Mr Hyde lifts up the ring apron for the original Mr Hyde to take his place, entering the ring again.] Dougie Wright: Now this is the original Mr Hyde! [The referee moves out of the way and Mr Hyde pushes his fingers into the throat of Zombie Fred locking on the Tongan Death Grip.] Marty The Cabbie: Last Gasp Clutch! [Zombie Fred throws his arms around like a madman, he can't take the pain.] Dougie Wright: THis is over, Mr Hyde has won again… but surely SWL officials have to take action against him. Zack Cobb: The winner of this match in a time of 6 minutes and 18 seconds… Mr.Hyde! [Mr Hyde is passed the National Championship belt, he raises it above his head.] Marty The Cabbie: One day someone will put a stop to this. Dougie Wright: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for watching us today, you're looking at Mr. Hyde the National Champion and probably the most dishonest wrestler in the business. We'll be back on 26 December when we shall crown the first ever SWL Television Champion and see an action packed six man Escape the cage match. [Fade to black] |
