Homey needs a parrot.

I will say that I really want to see who the Wise Men are. They've been built up for a long time. I can't imagine who has been in the wings for this long. Very, very interesting.

This Guest is beginning to get the impression that Part 1 wasn't enjoyed by many. I've never seen a comment lull like this before. Was it the shirt Scott match?

We have a super secret chat where all the reviews happen now (and plotting against the masses). #wisemen

That gmail chat may be the worst thing to happen to AWA. Now we don't review on this board and I know I can't get into the damn thing. Grrr.

It's kind of alienated me as well.

Me as well.

In 2013, "plethora" means "large quantity".

In 2032, "plethora" means "a hybrid fabric comprised of pleather and orange peels".

Good, because I would hate to be told I have a plethora of parrots if you don't know what a plethora is.

Don't tell me it's incorrect to say "a" before plethora, because you will be throwing a huge wrench in my grammatical system.

This is what I meant. I guess maybe 86 was longer ago than I thought.

Back from vacation, so I'll do a sum-up review of the show so far...

Green vs. Cooper: I was glad to see Blue put together the match in a way that I envisioned, with Cooper coming off as a bully and Green looking like a threat to beat him.

Air Strike vs. Longhorn Riders: Fun tag match and a good way to continue Air Strike's build, plus wet our appetites for the next Stampede Cup.

Hyperstyle Wildbrawl: Liked how a lot of focus was put on Shadoe Rage's ankle injury and his rivalry with Donnie White and it was a good way to give The Shane Gang a boost. The Rave seemed to be more of an afterthought in the match, though.

Scott vs. Dusscher: I was anticipating an angle to come out of this but I didn't anticipate it would be an advancement of the Wise Men angle. But it definitely makes sense that they would target Stevie. Plus Stevie's pre-match promo was a perfect way to remind everyone he's an AWA original and thus add to the Wise Men's involvement, in that they just targeted an AWA original as their first victim.

This is perfectly fair, because we didn't RP. I've been slammed at work and with personal injury for the past month. Both are clearing up (yay for the ability to turn my head!) but I'm happy because the Gang needed a win more than anyone.

Couple points

a) Nothing actually gets plotted in there. It's people incessantly insulting other people basically.

b) I actually agree with the point about it being bad for AWA. I said it publically in the room and was mocked endless for even suggesting so. It COULD be really great, but it's devolved in it's usefulness. It's already putting real inside jokes into AWA promos and matches, almost harkening back to semishooty RSPWF bull.

Hey now, I wouldn't say the mocking was endless. Just ... very abundant in quantity and frequent in execution?

Could it be more positive? Yes. But it's a great tool that can help us all keep in touch and collaborate more easily. I love that it's there personally.
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

We're a small, diversified group. The best way to keep everyone in the loop was this single, non-realtime board.

The chat site has succeeded in creating an even smaller mini-clique within that group.

You guys are silly. Just plain silly.

For ages, a bunch of people complained about not having the ability to have a real time communication with other handlers like the IRC days so that they could plan stuff and work together. That obstacle was eliminated. Not everyone chooses to use it... but it's their choice so I don't see a problem. It's fairly public. I offered to add anyone who asked to go in there. Everyone else is free to add more people and some have. It's not some private chat where only the purest of e-w blood can survive.

Does it stifle some conversation here? Perhaps. Maybe some of the things that would've been posted here are being said there instead. It's hardly different than the reviews I'd get by e-mail instead of on here though... just a different medium. And if you want to start a conversation here, start one. If it's interesting enough, I'm sure people from the Hangout would post here still. I didn't see anyone jumping all over my posted topic about the EMWC reunion and very few expressed interest in the Predictions thread even though someone who is on the Hangout frequently started that thread. There was your window to discuss something on here instead of there.

And then there's the doe-eyed Canadian who wants the world to hug and sing in the sunlight. Sure, there's an excessive amount of bashing of characters FROM TEN YEARS AGO! Does it really make you that sad? If it does, stop going in there. It's essentially two or three people leading that topic. If you hate it so much, try and get conversations started about something else. Jumping up and down and pouting seems unlikely to get anyone to dissuade from their current course of discussion. Oh, and let me know when these inside jokes are all over the shows. I must have missed that... which is odd since I'm, you know, the one writing the shows.

I've found the Hangout to be useful. Sending e-mails and waiting for replies just isn't the best form of communication when I'm writing sometimes. So, if I can get a reply quicker, fantastic. We looked through several different ways to do this and no one had any suggestion other than a return to IRC which seemed less efficient than what we've got now... and certainly wouldn't have been any better in terms of content. But I remain open to suggestions if someone has something better.

So, on that note... Part 2 will be out either tonight or perhaps tomorrow sometime. I hope one and all are having a good New Year's Eve. Stay safe out there.

This is kinda lame, but has been available for about three years now, for all that wish to rebel against Google. It doesn't require any accounts at all.
