I have the 2000-2002 #wwo chat logs.
Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

Not having a French last name is no problem at all, even for a character that comes from rural Quebec... Got a lot of friends with English and/or foreign surnames that speak mainly French, including myself.
My name is Shill, but I started learning English in my teens, and I've got friends with surnames of all origins but who all share French as a primary language.
The sticking point is actually the name "Heather."
While there have been a lot of Quebecers to name their children Nancy, Steve, Kevin and other English names, there is no way a French girl would be named Heather.
The French can't naturally pronounce the "th," and as all H's are silent in French, it's a really unnatural fit.

I feel compelled to reopen this old thread just to make a reference only my Canadian brothers and sisters will get.

"We have to keep our Irish names!"

I'll see your "Patrick... Patrick O'Neil" and raise you with a "when I reach China, I shall greet them wearing... THIS!"

That's one of my favourites. They're basically saying "Nicolet got lost and was nowhere near the Pacific, and... er, why are we celebrating this guy again?"

Okay, so I'm looking at your raise, nervously flipping through a pile of "Now the people will know we were here!" and "But I need those baskets back!"... what the hell, I call.

"Responsible government... It's a Canadian idea!"
"Pity, mum."
"Very well Lord Melbourne, we think we know what we must do."

To this day, I can't tell if that's said mockingly or not.

*Notices the "Doctor, I smell burnt toast" reflected in DeWolfe's shades and spots the "he never drew no gun... I coulda shot that guy right there!" tucked in Beeby's sleeve...*

Is this NORMAL? *lip quivers*

You're all whores, you know.

I just felt the need to wander in from the cold and share that bit of warmth with you all.

No. We don't get paid and thus, do it for free. Which makes us garden variety sluts, or something...

I hate this subforum by default, but in the mood for slinging some shit.

- All of Josh Curtis' characters. Just getting through the description paragraphs that start off his RPs is bad enough. But past that, you get boring dialogue, uninteresting characters, no real direction, etc. It's just all bad. And there's a "Hardcore" Heather Owens in real wrestling. Go figure. http://www.glorywrestling.com/gg/HeatherOwens/HO.asp

- El Paco and other characters by the handler. I want to say his name was Oscar Thomas, but don't quote me on it. That might even be another character lol This goes back to 2000-2002, and the main problem with him was that he was simply too lazy to type legible RPs. He wouldn't use his spell checker, had terrible grammar, and when his friend wasn't correcting them for him, his RPs frankly looked like shit. Worse even than anything Josh Curtis has ever written, even. Just plain awful.

- Laura Davis. Sorry Bob, but I've just never cared for this character. Granted it's pretty well documented that the whole pure wrestling movement irked me to no end, and I know she's a favorite in UWF, but Laura has always lacked something in my opinion. I would compare her more to a robot, to be honest. Droning on and on without emotion. She's just always come off as very flat and boring.

- "Dark Wolf" Dante Krieg and Crazy Horse, known as the tag team Deadly Force. These were my very first two creations in e-w 12 years ago, and there's a reason why I use them as jobbers in my summary feds now. Because they fucking blew. They were generic as all Hell, and rally had nothing in the way of personalities. One knock against me as a handler over the years has been that I create male characters with great movesets, but zero personality. And these two were no exception. Except maybe their movesets kinda' sucked too.

- Frostshite... or is it Frostbite? I haven't been in many of the same feds as him (thank fuck), but either way, he sucks. Enough said.

- Andy James. Only really read him in PJG, and was never a fan. A fat dude who swears a lot can be interesting if done right, but that wasn't the case for James.

- The Frat Boys. I know these guys were immensely popular, but they did nothing for me. I have a real hard time enjoying anything comedy-related - especially in wrestling/e-wrestling. There are rare exceptions, The Bloodsucking Editor in e-w for instance, but the Frats were not. Their RPs were way too long, and their brand of comedy just wasn't funny. What's more, I never bought into the whole "Conversations With Camermamen" schtick. On a side note, while I don't think I've ever talked to their handler(s), this is not a shot on them directly. I just didn't care for the characters.

- Ryu Osawa. See the Frat Boys mention above as for why, as it's pretty much the same for Ryu. And while I still love MBC, I tended to skip right over Ryu and the Frats, as I simply couldn't be bothered reading them.

For god's sakes, if you don't like comedy in e-wrestling, what in the world are you doing even LOOKING at the MBC? It's the calling card of the fed.

I mean, hell- I don't like reading over-the-top violence and blood. Which is why I stay away from feds that promote and enjoy "Extreme" violence. Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, Benedicts have to bleed. But don't join a fed that has a lot of good, funny characters and then not like all of the comedy characters in the fed.

As for Davis- yes, she's very much a Dean Malenko "Iceman" type character. When a league has too many interchangeable type characters, having something different stands out and looks better by comparison. There isn't any female characters like Davis- and that makes her a better e-wrestler, IMHO.

But if we can't all be uber-serious and emo, there's NO POINT to e-w...am I right?

C'mon- Who's with me?

I once had a character named Bruise Bombast in GLCW. I regret it. He was constantly shouting and challenging ME guys. Never won a match. I'm seriously not sure what I was thinking. Was I trying to be funny? Bucket full of fail in any event.
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!
