I guess Terry kinda summed up well what I was trying to get across.

There's a difference between Eddie Van Gibson and The Punster. Between Casey James and Darky Devil. Between drunk Kevin Nash Juan Vasquez and The Rave.

Wrestlerock Rumble, anyone?

Although, that wasn't intentionally funny.

It was intentionally unintentionally funny.
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

I don't have too much to add to what Blue and Terry have said, but I will say this:

Sure, Jim Cornette wore clothes with colors that didn't match, could crank out one-liners left and right and did some crazy antics now and then. But when push came to shove, he'd tell you the Midnight Express were the best tag team in wrestling, say it like he meant it and be serious with his tone of voice.

That's the problem I had with Flowers' version of the Bombers... Larry Doyle was pretty much over the top every single time and that needed to be toned down. Moze may not have found the proper feel for the Bombers, but whoever was going to handle, Doyle needed to be like Cornette in that he could drop one-liners but then tell you, with a serious tone, that the Bombers were the best tag team in the business.

Aside from agreeing with the majority of this post, I feel the need to point out that the Bushwhackers were not the Bushwhackers until Vince McMahon got them and, IMO, ruined them. As the Sheepherders, they were not a comedy team in the least. And they were infinitely more awesome as the butt-kicking ruffians from New Zealand.

AGREED!

But they made tons more money as lovable, face-licking fools. That's the drawback to Vince McMahon's WWE. Sell out and make money or entertain the hardcore non-paying fans. :)

They made more money simply because they were on a bigger stage driven by a marketing giant. It had a lot less to do with the gimmick and a lot more to do with where they were, IMO.

The question we'll never know the answer to is, would the Sheepherders gimmick have gotten over as well or better than the Bushwhackers gimmick did?
"Destruction of Hell" start playing as Mason drop the mic and exit the
ring as fans throw stuffs at him but he punch out most of the fans even
children.

The Sheepherders/Kangaroos feud in Portland Wrestling was amazing. I almost cried seeing them as Retarded Jackoffs... however they made good money so that's something!
Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

The Bushwhackers shooting on Steve Urkel and Carl Winslow, as Winslow played Ricky Morton is still one of my all-time favorite matches.

That's not true. Remember WWE wrestlers make a lot of money selling T-shirts to kids. Why do you think Cena is so big? Go to any arena and kids are bathed in his stuff.

They couldn't market a bunch of New Zealand bleeding savages to kids. Every face loses money when they turn because of a downtick in merchandising. That's why Kevin Nash and the nWo were brilliant with the cool heel gimmick financially. You could be the heel and people bought merchandise. But do you really see a lot of Christian or Mark Henry shirts? Anybody rocking Wade Barrett gear? Was there CM Punk merchandise before he became the "Best in the World" and a major face? Sure, but it didn't sell like that.

Being marketable to kids is a big slice of the revenue. The Bushwhackers even talked once or twice about how they thought the gimmick was ridiculous until they got their royalty cheques from the action figures.

Just watched the Dusty Rhodes retrospective on Netflix. He said his two years in WWE he made the most money in his career. This came about from the polka dot fiasco of his outfit.

The Mark Henry "HALL OF PAIN" shirt is the best shirt ever. Even better than the Sin Cara penis shirt.

Of course it's true. Would they have made as much money in JCP as they did in the WWF with the Bushwhackers gimmick? No way.

They were in the place that marketed the best and made the most money. Not disputing that the gimmick itself made them money with Vince, but that's the point. It was with Vince.

Well if Blue will let you then say the word and I'll give you the apps I wrote up for 'em. I'm guessing that, since you didn't really write any up the first time 'round that maybe you'll need 'em. :P

Every incarnation of the Bombers had no hope of succeeding because of Joe Petrow's high standards.
