During the height of his overexposure, Corey Irons beat Juan Vasquez with Vasquez's own finisher. We weren't even feuding or anything. This was just a throwaway midcard match, which leads me to conclude that he stratted that himself just to be a dick.

I hate Corey Irons.  :chairbash:

Oh yeah...and he mentioned he beat Devon Case in every rp he did for about 2 years.  :wacko:

While I'm here...was anyone a Spikyjim fan? I seem to remember he had a lot of fans back in the day.

And getting back to the IIWF, I don't think I ever "got" Genesis. It seemed to be a bunch of weird characters put together and no one liked any of them except for Requiem's hot sister. Yet, they got these massive pushes for a time. I suppose we got Serge Annis out of the deal, so it wasn't all bad.

The only thing I took away from Genesis was the Derek Mota angle. For a while, that was my favorite thing about the IIWF shows - just how badly was Mota going to get his ass kicked that week.

That and the Highwayman was really, really old but hey, when 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not.

I have to say that I haven't read anything from Kauffman in ages but the character TYPE... not necessarily the character himself with the long-winded promos but the type of character... a Dan Kauffman in a world where he'd let me edit the hell out of his work... would fit nicely in the AWA.

Same thing goes for Gunnar Gaines actually. Kipp and I actually discussed that when the AWA launched but I refused to accept his premise for why Gaines failed in the E and those discussions fell apart.

Back on topic, I wish I was around to know if Hellshock was any better than my imagination thinks he was. I mean, he lit his hand on fire to put on a claw! Kerry Von Erich might have done that while high but never sober!
